Falling off a log ...
There is an old saying that some things are "as easy as falling off a log."
I noted in in global chat today that a very good and well-thought-of player made a comment to the effect of:
if BB is going to require us to run IotP and Bandit's Nest all the time, why not lower the fragment cost of
these adventures? To which meesher responded something to the effect of: that is input I will write down
and take to the developers, smiley face.
Well, I appreciate that point of view, but I hope that meesh and the dev team will realize that not all of their
players feel this way. I don't think every aspect of this game needs to be "automatic," or "given away," or
"as easy as falling off a log." How about a little challenge?? How about some realization that, if you have
grown your way to lvl 40-something based on the largess of others, and have not invested in your island, and
couldn't produce one dama sword on your own to save yourself, that maybe, just maybe, there are quests you
might not easily be able to do.
I, for one, loved the 4-winds quest. It was hard to complete. I also knew going in that I might do everything
right and still not be successful, due to the luck factor. I also know the rewards were nice, but probably not
worth the expense of the buildings I had to build etc. etc. I did it for the fun of it, and the challenge. This is
a game, after all.
My opinion is, let the whiners whine. Don't listen too much to them, though, please, BB. There are regular
players out here who enjoy this game, and enjoy a challenge from time to time.
Just my two cents worth.

I agree with you very much, there are WAY to many players that just want this game to well basically run itself. I feel there is absolutely no fun or challenge. I think this game is very fun has run out of goals and I do like that some of these quest involve a challenge and considerable luck lol I have run 5 SA and still have not got granite, and yes the rewards are very nice but does not cover the cost to build building. I think if you dont want to challenge yourself to obtain the required resources, I ask why are you playing?
I have been watching the suggestions and the new Q&A with developers forums. All I can say is WOW A WHOLE LOT of give me and have game play for itself. There are some really good suggestions in there as well but most of them are to really make game play for itself. That is just my veiw.
BB and developers make the game harder, add more of these difficult quests

I really appreciate this post. I became a fan of this type of game, playing Townsmen 6, on my android phone. I especially gravitated to this game, because it is much more in-depth. The only reason I'm having difficulty is lack of interaction. I believe, once I get the fundamentals intact, I will find this game as one of my favorites.

+1, needs more challenging obstacles only a certain die hard players can accomplish. Look forward for this in my future within the game.

dont get me wrong, i like a challenge. however, i also feel that doing a quest should be profitable for the player, or at least not result in a loss. when you concider that the adventures required for the event quests could only be obtained in the merchant for frags, and the low chance of looting granite on these adventures, most players end up having to spend 1000+ frags to complete the quests. add to that the cost of building the expert buildings required in the top lvl tier, and the costs to complete the entire quest line is something like 300-500% of the value of the rewards. imho, this is unacceptable
i do not want this game to run itself for me, because then there really would be no reason for me to log in. however, what i like about this game is the economics, making a profit using resources i have built up over time through smart trading and smart playing. give me a quest line that is a challenge to complete, but is also profitable to complete, and i will happily do my best to complete it.

There is a difference between Challenge and LUCK. Those who 'enjoy' this challenge. What level range are you and which questline did you get and how many times did you run the adventures or search for requirements?
After 10 times of not getting granite for an adventure and burning resources on a BAD return is not challenge. It's called stupid bad luck and also stupidty on the designers and probably the player for even getting suckered into the so called challenge.
Challenge is when you actually use some skill and planning and thinking. Not beat yourself against the wall repeating an adventure that does not give you a very good return on the rewards. That's not a challenge. That's called "resource sink".
You obviously got your quests done in probably 1-3 shots. Those who have had to do Islands of pirates or bandits nest a billion times will beg to differ on this so called challenge. And that's just the first adventure granite requirement. The 10th subquest has another set of adventure requirements. darkpriest and oldfriends(which requires you to get it from witch of swamp).
That's not a challenge. Its LUCK.
It's a challenge to get the resources needed as is to do 1 or 2 of the adventures. But after failing it a billion times. that's not a challenge. I quit the game and logged on and off just to mass up resources. and luckily I had a stock pile of resources to beat myself up with bandits nest. But that resource pile is now draining. It's not a challenge my friend.
