I agree
agreed
click, click, click click, click etc.
The ability to make 1-200 troops each click would be far better than 25!
i am signing this petition as well
I gave up on this a long time ago.

rawr!
Maybe have a 2nd sliding bar, under the first.
# to queue
# of stacks of previous # ..
Queue 25
Stacks 25
Total with 2 slide bars is 625
Need more? Do it again!

Changing the barracks that we already have would be a bad idea because it could cause more glitches
It's best to just have a "Rarity Barracks" then having them changing the barracks.
+++++1...if you build it...they will come.
What programming was done, that effectively ruined any chance to go within the actual code and just change a numerical value without it causing major problems?
Because 25, really is unacceptable number for any particular limit (Barracks and Provision House), why they didn't just go with 50, 75, or even 100, is beyond me.
I mean come on, you're developing a game, and you've done the math, and you've made it so certain adventures require hundreds or even thousands of military units to complete, it wasn't a thought at that time, that maybe for the Barracks at least that 25 was just too low a number.
Seriously explain to me what the difference in programming is used between the trading system and the barracks and Provision house was used, or why it was made impossible to change the barracks. And why a new barracks would somehow resolve any of the issues plaguing just changing what's there.
I don't believe for one second, that 25 is the maximum number allowable for flash players, to run smoothly, at the very least it would be 99 which would be far more acceptable than 25.
I just don't see the difference, in having fewer slots being used with more quantity of units than many slots with the already maximum of 25 units per slot.
And I just fail to see why the programmers developed the game with such limitations even though there shouldn't have been a reason for why it was 25 units per slot in the first place. Unless there's a numerical limitation but then I would think 99 would be the plausible maximum.
Maybe someone needs to explain this to me in as best as they possibly can but I really do not understand the difference between: 1 slot with 99 units, and 3 slots with 25 units and one slot with 24 units, or if 100 could have been acceptable, then 4 slots with 25 or 1 slot with 100 units.
Why is 25 the maximum, for this particular aspect of the game? even the rare provision house has a maximum of 25. So what principle is being used where you can have hundreds (maybe even thousands) of slots with 25 maximum each, and fewer slots with 50, 75, 99, 100 units as it's maximum.
I want someone to really explain this so called limitation as best as they can. Because I just can't see how more units being trained beyond 25 units is going to cause more stress to the game than say 15 slots with 25 units each being trained.
Edit: And unlike the possible limitation for the provision house items, the units you train are added consecutively to units in your military menu. So it isn't like 25 Irma baskets sitting in one slot in your star menu.
Rather than messing with the current set-up or making a rarity for gems, I would suggest creating a Draft Office (accessible after level up somewhere between level 35 and 40) that produces recruits only and does so in in 100, 200 400 and 800 unit blocks. This would free up the original barracks for more advanced units while allowing for rapid production of "cannon fodder."
GUI does not support creation of more than 25 units at a time. in order to implement something like that, they would have to either redo the entire GUI for the production buildings or create a new building that would do it.
I remember hearing that the trading office originally only allowed you to sell things in units of 400 or 4000, or something like that, but now it seems to be the maximum of whatever the user has and they even have lots now.
What's the difference in the case of the trading office?
Edit: And one final thought.
Why not add tabs to the barracks then? And just create new "icons" where you can train groups of units in 25 units .
So each 1 unit is the equivalent of 10 or 25 military units so at 25 units you could be getting 250 or 625.
Similarly to the provision house having three different ways of getting Settlers. Like wayward settler to retired bandits.
Let me explain the trade office to you then.
Long time ago, way back in 2011, The Trade limit was only 400. The trade tab you see today was completely different. The Trade tab was actually the listing of all the trades that was posted in the Trade Office and the Trade Scales was just nothing.. It was just for show.
i can't remember how long it took, but it took them a few months I believe, they managed to change the entire trading process. They took the Old trade system out where it was done in a trade tab (limit of 400) into the new trading place which is the trading scales right now which has no limit. Now we have a trade tab channel with little to no minor/glitches. It was probably easier to change the script/coding on it to without little effert.
All they did was they planned ahead. In this case, they didn't plan ahead on the Barracks or the Provision house. This is why we have the (RPH) Rarity Provision house. If anything, they don't want to attempt to change the GUI on the barracks because it could cause serious problems or it just won't support it on the barrack itself. That is why they didn't change it for the Provision house, instead they made a new building like we have today the Rarity Provision house.
Going back to my edited post.
The Wayfaring Settler has 25 bread for 1 settler for a maximum of 25 settlers, then we have Traveler Family for 125 bread for 5 settlers for a maximum of 125, then we have retired bandits at 625 bread for 25 settlers for a maximum of 625 settlers.
So adding multiple tabs and options can't be done, but was made an exception to the settler bread production? I mean The rare provision house has only 4 items, 2 are deposits, one is a resource thing, and the other is a production buff.
It was not possible to include Gamekeeper Snacks and Rare Fish Food to the deposit tab within the regular provision house? After all unless it's a glitch, the rare provision house still has a maximum of 25 units. I mean I can understand the Magic Ink being in the rare provision house given the low amount of space in the resource tab within the provision house, but there's only 2 deposits in the provision house, as well as only 3 buffs in the provision house.
I can also understand why the EotM Badge is also in the rare provision house, because it has nothing to do with food, while the buffs in the Provision house revolve around food and I can understand why it was moved to the rare provision house.
But I'm confused as to why Rare Fish Food and Gamekeeper Snacks did not make the provision house, when we have Wayfaring Settlers, Traveler Family, and Retired Bandits as precedence.
And to apply this to the barracks, what would be wrong with creating separate tabs and creating similar groups.
Or is creating tabs, not possible within the barracks like it is with the Provision House, does that also mean the Rare Provision House if more items get added to it, it won't have tabs either?
Not possible to create tabs in the barracks. You'd have to change the GUI/Coding if you want to do that in the barracks. The Rare Fish Food and GameKeeper snack is in the Rarity Provision house because the Old Provision house can't handle it. The Provision house has 3 different types of settlers is because it always ends in 25. It' just different amounts of bread.
I understand what your saying and know the frustration because I train troops the thousands by the day. But when it comes to having to change the GUI/Coding and re-do the entire barracks. It's much safer for them to create a new barracks. Then we can train the troops by the hundreds.
During the Anniversary and Halloween events Provisions had a tab added. It was one of the few things that worked relatively smoothly from the start for both events so whether or not it's the answer to the barracks wrist strain it certainly has been possible. At least in prov. Having a little difficulty seeing how the barracks would differ.
There was an "Event Tab" added both times, for the Anniversary event it made *cringe* balloons, and during Halloween it made golem heart-weapons things.
All in sets of 25 granted but as pointed out above it's not really the '25' that's the issue, it's how large each '1' in that 25 is.
Edit: Now that you mention 'event res into coins' the *see above* balloons into coins button in Prov -> Resources is also fairly new, being added post the TSO Sends Wrist-Brace Stocks Sky High event.
Edit II: Since this is now branching http://forum.thesettlersonline.net/t...units-now-what it's worth keeping in mind that Prov II still only makes stacks of 25, but with the deposit refills the 1 in each set is just larger.
+1 bump
again with the GUI nonsense
Yes
+1 -- especially since counting the total tally when scroll doesnt really work well is very inaccurate
