Try not to logoff with available building licenses. Build mines, build farms, build another fisherman, build something; even if you leave it at level 1 so you can tear it down at minimal cost for revived mine deposits when you log back in, it will have added something to your storehouse!

for the quest to trade 50 tools, brew, and bronze swords just post a trade of 50 tools for 50 brew. after it sells post a trade of 50 brew for 50 swords. and after that sells post a trade of 50 swords for 50 tools.
works even better if you can find someone else with the same quest.
Check the Settlers online "Trade Calculator" for Castle Empire before you trade. It gives a good estimate on what your resources are worth prior to trading. don't get into gold production too early, start buy selling buffs to friends or on the Trade tab. Once you have enough resources begin gold production and never leave it unbuffed while it is running, also level 2 gold mines are more profitable then level 1, so level 2 and up is the only time you should have them running.
Bread production is your friend. Needed for buff baskets & deposits. Surplus production useful for settler generation.
Build up a good supply of settlers in your star menu with surplus bread. Will aid recovery after adventures.
If you're about to log off and have a trade in the trade office, you can close it out and re-post it before you log off. That way, it won't expire 10 minutes after you leave.
make or buy alot of bswords and bread, the most used resources in the game
when you first start doing adventures it's a good thing to use the strategy guides the more experienced players make. it will help save you on weapons and men until you get your own rhythm for them :)
try to use guild coins to buff your gold mine. get a gold mine to lv 5, it is better to buff the mines then the other building in the gold coin chain since this one has the fastest production speed, so the buff will be the most effective.
this logic can be applied to other production chains as well
For every two lvl 1 pinewood cutters, you need there lvl 1 pinewood foresters.
When you are ready to attack a camp, just before you hit the attack button, make one last check to make sure you have exactly the right troops attacking.
Check twice, fight once.
Not check once, fight twice.
Over time you will save a lot of troops.
My Pro tip is as follows:
Do not get sucked into thinking you have to buy something right away. The Law of Supply and Demand holds here. People say things in global and trade tabs to spur demand for items and this drives the prices higher. Just know that there are numerous players who have taken a great deal of time in creating spreadsheets with prices for this reason. This is a game of patience and you cannot win it in one day. You play this game and enjoy your time here. It is meant to be fun and for your time to make friends either in the game or in your guild. Enjoy it and play your way. Be patient with your trading and know that fair prices for items, a majority of the players know what's fair. Lopsided trades, you are just kidding yourself. We all play this game and all need the same resources to build and make our places the best they can be. Just be careful of the hype, you might end up paying way too much for items you should not pay up for. One of the most important items in the game is your Gold Coins, remember to use them wisely.

The Nords when you are using the 250 vet, attack camp 4 and the leader camp using the same number 7 rec, 1 elite, 64 cavs and 178 XB, and attack L5 to get intercepted by camp 4 and attack both and will only loose one rec.

PROTIP: When the combat preview tells you do kill a camp in two waves, a lot of times you can ignore it. For example, Skunk can do nothing to you, so the real danger is the other units.
PROTIP: Pay attention to attack order on bandits. For example, Wild Mary is attacked first, so you need Cavalry to clear the units behind Wild Mary (especially if they are Guard Dogs/Rangers).
PROTIP: A lot of camps do not need two waves, but can be killed in two waves for minimum losses. This involves the suicidal wave getting rid of some units (usually those with "Attack the weakest"), and then finishing the camp with little or no losses.
PROTIP: Use a combat simulator to test all garrison settings.
PROTIP: Try to configure your troops such that, in the worst case, a Soldier or Elite Soldier takes damage and saves a Recruit from dying.
PROTIP: All units, as long as they are not dead, will regenerate to full HP after every battle.
PROTIP: On some bosses, especially the ones that have Last Strike and can strike for a ton of damage, it's better to use Crossbowmen instead of Cannoneers.
As soon as you logon, send out any Explorers who are not already out. Next, send out Geologists. Your mail will wait a few minutes!
Before you logoff, send your Geologists after Stones and lastly Marble - so your Masons have something to do while you are off line.
Upgrade from the bottom of the production chain and upwards. Example: Farms so your mills have more wheat. Then Mills so your bakeries have more flour.
Save your wheat deposits until you know you are going to be gone a few days. Drop them on your fields and your farms can still harvest while you are gone.
Only gold, fish, and meat deposits are worth buying. All other deposits cost more than the goods you get out of them.

Another useful point about using tools to upgrade mines is that it is often quicker and cheaper in the long run to accomplish resource acquisition quests by modifying supply chains through upgrades to various kinds of mines than it is to be constantly shuffling one's use of building licences. Sometimes it is necessary to upgrade a mine to achieve a resource quest more quickly than it is to wait for a building licence to become available when another mine depletes, or by destroying a pine forester, etc., to get a building licence for a mine.
Remember, one must take into account time as well as quantity or expenditure of resources when planning achievement of quests or other goals.
ATM, when i'm doing the crisis quest, i see how important a guild is, especially in a 15-20 members guild. We help each others at each quest, run SE, SOTV adv together, sharing what we have. Keep in your mind this thing when you are planing to join a guild. Let's join a guild which doesn't have a real leader, everyone is equal and can be called group of ppl or a family.
