Adventure Type Change
Obviously from the last couple of adventures released, as well some of the quotations attributed to Blue Byte, there is a bias against blocks in adventures. As the game is currently designed, it is obviously to the players' advantage to use blocks whenever possible, as it is better to play smart than to lose resources unneccessariy. Also under the current design, very few players could qualify for the 'play smart' category regarding adventures, with the availabilty of guides that give exact information on playing each adventure. It becomes a measure of following directions exactly rather than actually playing. The solution to this that has been created so far, either placing each camp in it's own zone or creating physical barriers to getting past camps, leaves sterile, unsatifying adventures.
One solution to all of this is to create adventures where the camps are more randomized. This would prevent the creation of simple guides and prevent players from having defined blocks. The blocks would still be possible, but would be up to the individual player to perform at the time of the adventure, giving opportunity to people willing to work it out but also allowing people to kill as required. It would add additional random elements to doing the adventure, as some may be easier than others based on the randomization, but would likely give better motivation than the current random reward system that frequently leaves players feeling unrewarded by completing the adventure.
One requirement to keep this type of adventure on par with the current ones would be to make the experience and end prizes proportional to the higher level of effort required to do them. While players are not terribly upset when getting poor rewards from an adventure that took a few hours (even when rated at four to eight days), these would need to provide more with less random elements to the reward. However, this would be more of an incentive for player to do them, for specific goals, rather than repeat the same adventures for some random reward akin to a complicated slot machine payoff.
