Well noted. almost everything in the game is inaccurate to real life.
But, there is this to consider. this is a cartoon-like game. the upcoming adventures are all fairy tales. real life accuracy isn't important.

You know Dev's, back in the day, whoever stole or scammed someone, was hanged!
I suggest the Dev's give us a new building, the sharif Office! We could control our own building production rates!
Everybody who is whining about island space totally do not understand the progression of economies at all. In an emerging economy you produce the few things that you can and hope to not go too far into debt (not possible in this game but that's irrelevant) importing the rest. In an establish economy you produce everything you could possibly need and import/export with fluctuations in supply/demand. In an elite economy (this is where all top level players come into play) you produce only the best/top line stuff and import everything else because you're trade ratio's are ridiculous. So basically, all those top level players complaining about island space need to start deleting everything to do with pine, your fisherman, and some combination of final production lines of copper/wheat. In a nutshell, choose to specialize in the upper level products and export excess/small amounts to players who aren't/can't produce at rates like ya'll can.
Very good points.
But, the level 50's in TSO are already doing that, they already have other players stimulating their economy. I have level 50 friends, their only purpose in TSO is to produce 1 thing, and they have other players investing their resources to make a potential profit. (and most are very "rich" because of that)
But that's where it ends berg. The level 50's, they are already doing what you are suggesting. So they need more land. Their islands are optimized for that 1-2 products. all or most buildings are level 5 not because they are making profit but because they will "go under" otherwise.
Also, many other level 50's don't specialize. they are generalized producers. But they too will still need more land. And building licences too.
So as for production rates, what i said was a joke.
If the level 50's are asking for more land, they must have a full island. Why else are they asking?
Also, i have said this before, This is a game. the economy isn't based on the real world, or we all would be in trouble. The Dev's control the economy.
Final Point: The BB's are reading our posts. We have seen many proposed and done updates that were player inspired. Also, the BB's have said in this very Dev diary that there many more changes to be made on what we have been told here. We just might get more land because of what we have right now is so small. We might get to destroy those pesky trees for good, who knows.

Ok so whats the point of a 500 general that cant lead an attack. I do like the idea some mentioned with this General being a ship. Its makes alot of sense
@ The_Director
You don't understand what I'm saying. There is room on the island to build roughly 350 buildings (that's an estimate as my island is roughly 40% full at 165 buildings, if you know an exact number then kudos, but let's assume 350 for now). Therefore, since there is room on the island for 350 buildings, that's your budget. Take those 350 buildings and maximize your island however you wish, I know budgets are an unpopular concept in America but the reality is if you want to produce a bunch of the new science materials there is plenty of room on the island to do so, they just might not be able to produce as much bread/steel swords/gold coins/etc that they want as well.
I get that players want new expansive content and I sympathize, but what they don't understand is that this is a free to play game, and therefore unless they are investing $10+ dollars a month into the game like someone playing WoW or a similar game would be (something I highly doubt the level 50 players are as there just isn't much that gems can buy them at that point), then basically asking for a bunch of new content all the time is saying "I like what you have already given me for free, but it's not quite enough, give me more free stuff". If this is a pay to play game then gripe away cause you have paid for the right, but since it's free, either ask politely and patiently for improvements or don't say anything at all.
that's all I have to say about that
Looks good BB. I see alot of players saying and agree with them about not having room to build these new buildings. some are saying to add more land and what not. I think that a quick and easy solution to this problem of not having room to build these buildings and fear of losing pop would be to simply make Floating Residences Giftable.
please dont forget the increase in levels over 50 so the people lvl 50 can experence them fully
I concur with TrueHead. This is all good content and should be fun, but the challenge for those of us who have been here a long time is we have built and maxxed our islands as best we could with the content we had. Now that content is changing, it is a good thing, but many of us are forced to destroy what we have worked a year or two or more to build. Building space should be looked at closely by the dev team and some sort of island annex that can be captured or acquired through adventures, needs to be introduced. If not that, something that enables players to take advantage of the new content without destroying what they have already built. My 2 cents...
Well, i did ask politely :D
I would like to point out that not all buildings are the same size. But yes, the science system can fit in most players islands. (but what about the fairytale adventure buildings?)
However as for money, i have 5-10% of my posts on that subject.
1. TSO in the USA (Zeus and Ares) is dying. The main cause is the lack of PvP, (Americans are not pacifists) uninteresting content, and the Dev's (up to lately) did not talk to the players.
2. If you are going to make a game, you make it with maximum money intake as possible. That means if it is in germany, a non-pvp game can be done, in America, PvP required. (yes there are pacifists in America, but they are not the majority)
3. The Dev's must build the game within the limits. That said, they also must keep the cash flowing.
So what does this all mean?
Money, Money and thats right, more money.
If adding another sector to your island will increase profits, then it will be done.
THe Dev's have in fact already promised us a new island: "PVP may include islands with luxury goods". -BB_Katalist (a long time ago)
Now there was a more recent Dev diary that said that YES PvP will be on another island! and that island would have rair mines on it that could be built. (sorry i cant find where it was said, ill keep looking)
So, not only the Dev's could make another sector/island, they will. They have too, it will give them a bigger wallet, and with that money, TSO will be expanded with more features they haven't even begin to talk about.
(i am not making the Dev's and BB's look greedy, i am merely pointing out the fact that games need money to survive)
Well, if the Dev's want to make more money, let those of us with full islands have more space. If I had more space, I would spend more money. Right now I can's spend any more because I have no space to put anything. Why not let us buy more island space? That would give those who want it and will pay for it the opportunity to have the space they need. Maybe a small new island with a bridge? I am sure you can think of something. I say, if we want more space, why not give it to us?
having issues getting into the settlers online testing, says forbidden? I've been playing and today I am unable to get in. Can anybody help?
The TSO Test servers are full.
i have not been able to get in all day. I do have at least one friend who got in. Not sure what the issue is, but hoping they fix it fast! very frustrated at the moment. Want to see all of the new stuff, and can only listen to others tell me how neat and different it is.;l
I agree with this. We really don't need more space on the island. Maybe some interesting PVE stuff. Like a new spot on the island that spawns bosses or camps to attack on a daily basis so we can loot.
Learn to manage your island space. This is a strategy game. Stop asking for hand me downs.
my island is full where do ya expect lv 50 players with there island finished and full 2 put new buildings at...
i make everything lol i dont have room left but... its not whinning if the game develepers add new stuff 2 game with the 7 new buildings i had 2 tear down 7 lv 5 buildings 2 build the new chain. and i dont have any room left my island is close 2 self sufficiant as i can get with like 60 watermills / silos 25 deerhuts they take up space .... game should of gave everyone 7 free licences with the new buildings ... i sell gems so i can buy granite xplank etc so tearing down buildings i payed real money 2 build is a kick in the taters also .. but the point is i have 4 building spots in my island that i put generals at thats it no open space 2 build at all.... if i tear stuff down i wont be + on resource chains i built... so ill have 2 buy res from other players my island was designed for self supporting itself.. close as i can get it lol anywho my 2 cents
I have a test account and it still gives me forbidden message
Ron im sorry but while it is a strategy game, its also a full game.
Im not going to continue talking about this, i've said my part, my vote and thats it.
Like i said before, if the Level 50's are calling for it, then there is a need. If you wanted more space at level 25, then i would laugh and try to keep a straight face while talking to them and tell them to unlock another sector. But for a level 50, if he needs more space, then he needs it.

END OF MESSAGE
all my nobles are lv 5 already ya think i wanna tear down lv 5 nobles your on crack adding a little land is only way 2 go......
Sirgregor... LoLoLAfter playing today... Dang, the Fairytale Adventures ! Surprise!!! Everyone, level 50 will hope they have all level 5's and then some, I have 6580 pop on my test island, It took 2718 troops to get 800 beans. :) was much fun the new challenge, i must say..Quote:
all my nobles are lv 5 already ya think i wanna tear down lv 5 nobles your on crack adding a little land is only way 2 go......
Look forward to killing things like:
- Assassin 30k 400-750 dmg 80% acc splash dmg
- Giant Bear 55k 200-300 dmg 60% acc last strike splash dmg
- Greedy Inn-Keeper 50k slash dmg weakest last strike
Looking at the new Magnificent residence- it seems to take up 4 buildings worth in area. Basically a T-shape. Which means it is 'about' 4 noble deeds.
a fully upgraded noble deed = 70pop. x 4 = 280 pop. The magnificent resident starts at 140 pop. I don't know what the upgrades will give us. But if the fully upgraded building is less than 280 pop. Basically its a worthless building to get.
The only thing worth getting then is the magic castle that makes magic bean stalks. so you can buy gold towers.
given the cost and the adventure's loss value. it really isn't worth getting. making back that loss in terms of what the gold towers will produce it will take years to even regain the gold value you've sunken in the troop loss.
I guess if you're lvl 50 and have nothing else better to do, this is a good grind. the only sad part is the XP being worthless.
the Fairytale adventure i'm currently testing is on Nords map, and pretty much i'm using Sons' simu for the kills, is very hard though, although perhaps one miss isn't so bad... missed the kill on the Assassin bandit today w/my Vet... still is fun, challenging though :)
Have a look- http://i.imgur.com/YK39EZJ.jpg
the grey things in sector 4 are actually wildlife caves, with boars, bears, foxs, and wolves... giants...
magnificient residence, its a 6x4 building (space of 6 nobles = 420 total pop), houses 140 settlers, not upgradeable, and useless
gold tower, its a 3x3, and takes 48 mins to transform 50 wheat into 1 gold bar, lol...
the devs better re-think of balance, theres no point on a residence that is much worse than the actual ones
Thanks Evil_J, I also raised the issue of residence size... After so many misses, I came to conclusion that developers are actually making these "mistakes" on purpose. Why? because we simply put up with them...
So..getting ~ 400 beans from a completed adventure that kills you ~ 2500 troops (many of them expert troops), and since castle needs to be upgraded to level 5 to produce anything (on EU server I heard upgrading level 4 to 5 cost 30K beans) you may need a total of 100K beans to get a functional castle. Or ~ 250 adventures, each requiring lets say 2000 troops sacrifice. And you thought running SoV is bad :) ?
I can't wait for my beta key for Silent Service/Hunters
GIVE IT TO ME!
(lol i am sooo ready for SHO)
From reading the results of people's testing on the .com website, the new content being added is not very good at all.
Here is a my feedback for community manager to take back to their meetings for developers:
1. Solving Level Cap problem. XP from adventures need to be converted to some useful resources. (example, in World of Warcraft, the dailies or any quest that gives you XP at the character max level returns you more gold. since XP is useless as rewards). Currently this is suppose to be end game content for level 50 players right? The XP (80k+ experience points) are wasted. Totally useless. People want to raise level caps. BUT I ask why?? This will only create problems again later. So you raise it to 55? people reach 55 and complain. You will always have level cap problem if you always raise it. Solve the problem now by converting XP to resources. There is no need to raise levels.
2. Gold Towers bad investment. Lower the wheat requirement and increase the gold bar output. A lot of people are saying that they can sell wheat and get a better return on their investment than using gold towers. 50 wheat for 1 bar is very very bad. also you have to build more farms ALOT of farms. the more wheat you require. the more farms and fields you will need. People are already running out of space on the island at level cap. Introducing new buildings forcing players to build more buildings is a bad idea. There is a whole discussion on the .com forum about the wheat consumption and gold output. It's currently better to sell wheat on the Trade Office for coins than to use towers.
3. The new residence gives you only 140 population but it takes up 4 noble space. This is also bad. Again if this game is made for end game content and people who are lvl 50 with no space level on their island. To build this they have to destroy buildings they exist and move buildings around. Replacing 4 lvl 5 nobles to make room for this residence they will lose population overall. Very bad. Magnificent residence needs at least 280 population
those who have 4 lvl 5 nobles would only use this for decoration. since 4 nobles = 280 population.
*** I just tested the magnificent residence and it takes up 5 noble residence spots. not 4. which makes this even worst.
4. Cost of buying end game items (beans) is too high. Or the adventure rewards for beans is too low. Since the cost of going on an adventure takes a lot of troops (and I mean a lot of troops). The death toll compared to the rewards is not worth it. Especially since the rewards makes your island worst than it is before in production and population. lower bean cost of new buildings or raise bean reward from adventures
Overall- this new fairy tale content is a something high level players will end up rejecting.
Need content is VERY disappointing. I was excited at first but now i'm terribly depressed.
Test Server feed back. (can't find a forum for test server feedback) I tried to go to test server section but it doesn't let me post. only archives there.
The new general has a button for retreat. if he can't attack why have button there.
We need something else to spend magic bean stalk on. once you buy all 3 towers, the magic castle is going to be producing more bean stalks and people might forget to turn it off and accidently lose their magic beans. currently magic bean stalks have no use other than buying gold towers.
