:confused: Is it just me, or has anybody else noticed the amount of simple paper, nibs and gold coins required to make a manuscript has gone up? It started with needing 250 simple paper, 200 nibs and 10 gc, now it's 275 simple paper, 220 nibs and 11 gc.
I thought it was just my imagination. But you might be right about that.
I did read somewhere in the forums here that the cost of the manuscripts would increase every 10 books - at least gold wise I don't think I'd read anything about the other materials cost going up as well.
Found the link it's actually on the testing server. Building costs of manuscripts increases.
the science production is a joke. Times take way too long. The player is limited by the Bookbinder.
Either allow more Bookbinders or change the times....... fustrating

Run the numbers. If you only want to do 6 geos, you'll be paying over 1000 nibs and paper per script.
I don't know how many of each book will be needed for Explorers, Generals and the Island Science upgrades, but expect this to get into many 1000's per book pretty quickly.
I know I don't dare do all my geos or I may not ever be able to afford to make books for the features yet to come.
i will take a screen shot of this in 4 and 1/2 hours from now and see if its true. If so. i'll post it here and with my comments on it...
Ouch!! I'm now wishing it was just my memory playing tricks on me. Hopefully there is a ceiling for the amount of mats needed.
cost goes up for ALL mats across the board. for every book.
the best strategy is to be very conservative in the higher nodes. like spend 20-30 books in the first two tiers and reserve the last tier to be 1-4 points using only 1-4 books. or avoid using the last tier.
there is no way to get around paying a crap load for the first book.

Considering how the cost will be going up as you make more books. It will be VERY expensive to upgrade/talent your 2nd Geo.
You might want to think twice before you even decide to upgrade your first Geo. And especially your 2nd.
Why?
Since the Science System bookbinder will be used for upgrading your General, Explorer and Island later, you will be paying a very very expensive price later when they're introduced.
Notice the materials and gold cost going up every 10 books you make.
And considering the next tier of books uses the first tier. you can easily do the math and realize that you need to make 2x as many manuscripts for the codex (last tier book).
1m (x10)
1m->1t (x10)
1m->1t->1c (x10 or x11 if you plan to spend the codex on the last tier node)
You need about 31 manuscript for one geo.
Now if you keep upgrading your 2nd geo, that cost will go up significantly because you'll need to produce TWICE as many manuscript for the tome. since the tome consumes 2manuscript as part of the cost. (after 20).
If you upgrade more geo. and the explorers or general comes out needing a full upgrade. You're going to be paying a fat fat price.
The codex will end up needing 2 tomes to consume as cost, thus you're going to need 4 times as many manuscript just to use 1 codex at that point.
You do the math. It's exponential in cost. since the manuscript goes up in cost every 10 books, its going to be crazy expensive!!
I hope BB has a cap limit the cost. Otherwise those who use the books on geos now are going to get screwed majorly later.

This is HOW BB/UBI OP. like putting up crisis events right before holiday events and such. Cause the player base to spend a lot fo resources and stuff for the out of the gate shiny new stuff. Then hits you with stuff that costs and takes longer so you will want to spend money to buy gems. How else are they going to make thier money?Quote:
