YES!! I don't know about everyone else, but the thing I miss most from Settlers 2, which isn't in TSO, is the ability to build boats and sail to other islands. It would be awesome if you could do that. The new islands would have bandit camps that need to be cleared, just like the main island - but unlike the main island, the bandit camps on the new island can attack you first, so to hold your new islands you will need to make sure your garrisons have enough troops.
This would probably necessitate the introduction of new defensive military buildings, but it would totally be worth it!!
I hope its ability to mine granite on the island! :D
lots of gems and granite!
I hope there is a tasty sale on gems because I am in the mood to investigate that gem pit.
Some free stuff would be nice or maybe lower the costs of the gems.
I played Tribal Wars and it is defiantly a cheaper game to play than this one.
If the Gems didn't cost as much or if you got a lot more then it might be worth
buying into. Or let us use coins to buy gems.
Just some thoughts anyway.

Give us the option for a add-on to our little Island. Many players need/want more building space.
jester? circus ? they gather crowds ........how bout a free circus tent building that cut the time for settlers by 5 minutes ! btw happy b-day huh
Guild Wars. Make a new guild locked only production. and different people can make different item.
I've been playing since the beginning also (and was one who threw a baby fit when Settlers V came out).
Although I am quite the newb at the online version it has the right lineage.
I have to agree with metalpuppet on one side:
...and on the other, I think you will do something unexpected for the great people who have toughed it out
and made it all worth it.
Like Free Silos for Everyone or 2 extra Islands but...
I would like to see a worker carrying bread from Settlers IV running around my Island dropping Gems
i hope a re-release of settlers 3
I completely agree. As far as prizes, I'll be happy with whatever you toss my way like usual. For those that are dreaming big 5k+ gems on a giveway, please. Where would they make their money then? I am a gem buyer, because I feel since I don't do a monthly fee on this game, I pay into the game once a year as an investment. So far, I have not been let down.
So thank you BB Staff on doing a good job, listening to us. I know it takes a long time to implement changes. I'll wait patiently. Keep up the good work. I think I'll go play another Settlers game in the meantime since I've done everything I can on this game for tonight. :)
Why can't we have towers that shoot. Also get the settlers out of the buildings and fight .Boring not seeing them fight.
If I remember correctly with the very first/original version of Settlers (I've owned and played all of them except for the very last release--I didn't have a computer capable of running it at the time), there were up to four "characters" that players could potentially play against, with one sort of looking like a jester (or an evil jester?), another looking like a member of medieval female royalty and I honestly can't remember what the fourth character looked like now. Alternatively, on the (now long defunct) platform I used to play on, we had the option to play two human players against each other at the same time on the same computer (or also up against any AI/computer "player" with the maximum being up to four players in total--one could also play against multiples of each character (for example, in a two-player game one could potentially play against two of the same character, but each one treated "separately" within the game and assigned its own color as were the two main players--the first player I remember was always a cyan/light blue whereas the second player was always red and I believe the other two colors were yellow and a light purple (?)).
Anyway, when I saw the jester image, I was reminded of these wonderfully cartoony characters that came with the first game. :) Although, I doubt we may be seeing anything like that for the anniversary, I still have very fond memories of the game that started it all (along with many of the earlier games--as they didn't just have a fun sense of humor about them, but a real personality that helped them to stand out from many of the other games that were around back then). :)
The settlers will all come together at the center of each island and while there perform a ritual that will cause all islands to implode to the center, causing a huge chain reaction that will eventually surpass the boundaries of the electronic network called the internet and slowly drawing in all those surrounding areas of the world pressing all of the galaxies into a miniscule subatomic new universe. Thus ending/beginning the tales of the multiverse.
Clorkan
I can only hope it will something real . . . . . special, yeah that's a god term for it.
i have an idea for anniversary/pvp :make it possible to play settlers 10th anniversary against each other for loot must be possible to play that one in a browser now
How about instead of just bread, special items are made for a great feast, including birthday cake! There could also be new settler occupations to help things, like a chef, a policeman, and maybe some other specialists
I am so proud to see how many Amiga owners are on TSO. We were the first Settlers back in '93. And another example of how much ahead of its time the Amiga was, the first settlers was PvP. I had The Settlers in its own partition on my hd and needed to boot in PAL; no US version, and I played games over months...years PvP! The game could split the screen and the Amiga had a second mouse port. I played with friends as a team vs the map world or against each other on one screen.
So Happy Anniversary...lets get some home island defense buildings with no building license necessary and defense buildngs count as residences so they also increase the population, then after level 50 you can connect your home island map to a Pangea type world for PvP play. The Pangea world require you to be online to avoid absentee elimination but any battle started would run till completion on the server to keep everyone honest. So PvP us please! :cannoneer:
Since I've been around for your holiday celebrations, I expect that there will be a SPECIAL adventure with goodies for all! I started with the original Settlers and have been a fan through all the series.Though I sometimes get "ticked off" at the glitches, I love the game. Happy Birthday Settlers!!
PvP doesn't happen over night people. That's all i'm hearing on the forums today. PvP This, PvP That. Give it up and stop being so impatient. This game wasn't meant for PvP in the First Place. So chillax, have a cup of coffee and wait.
I'm guessing you guys will let the anniversary sneak up on you and end up asking the community what they think will happen so you can cherry pick ideas.
no time to chillax we want pvp and WE WANT IT MEOW!!!!!! just kidding but they did show us pictures of the building for pvp last fall so did they give up?
My guess is that they will have some new and barely tested doo-hickey that will cost us an arm and a leg
and when you write to support for issues with the new thing-ama-jigger they'll ignore you or write back with
some form letter that has nothing to do with the issue at all. I just went through that exact scenario with
them over the "Militia" quest that was messed up for over 3 months.
PvP
Pass the gems and party!
i think this will be the summer event.
maybe an adventure , like the alexandre dumas book: after 20 years! with, mousquetaires, cardinals and swordsmen. with one milady who must be escaped, etc. i think.
Make Dark Castles up-gradable :)
free 1 gem pit or endless coppermine for everyone?
wooo hoo first to post ad its my very first post
first post picture looks real nice.
they will celebrate with a rollback
