This contest has no way of telling who is helping and who is not.

What should have been done was individual quotas. Rewards for doing more than the next guy/gal.
Just a public list of who has donated how much. This would make all the difference.
I will not put a number on the balloons I have donated but I know I am in the top shelf. I make em none stop. But let me be clear here. I am not alone. Many Many on our server have done the same. I am one of many.
But the fools error here is this. The lowlife that profits by selling at inflated prices and makes 0 balloons. He will get the same reward as the rest of us.
Its our good nature that makes his profit. As we will buy his water and coal. We will damage our own economy by not making Musk Deer or Settlers. We will spend gems on Choc Rabbits.
At the end of the day. No one will see our efforts. No one will see who the low lives where. Everyone on the server will get the same result.
Next time you run a contest. Talking to the fool that came up with this one, or the fools!
Make it so others can see the effort put in by some. More important see the lack of such from some.
I urge everyone who reads this to go into the trade tab. Take a look at who is selling water and coal at inflated prices. Email them and let them know what u think of them. if you run a guild and someone in your guild is selling high. Boot them out.
Use this thread to name those who gain from the good nature of the rest of us.

Yet again the guy/gal or them. Who made this up. You my friend have no clue at all.
I called out every Mod there is about the cheating germans and the EOTW event. I had converted text from german severs and fourms from many ppl about the glitch with ending EOTW after a few attack. They LIE its what they get paid to do. Cant deny it PvP was set to release late last yr.
Suggestions for this and future mass events:
1> Stop blaming BB, the Germans, your mother-in-law, people who buy gems, George W Bush, people who don't buy gems and/or BB & the Germans for us getting our butts handed to us every single time.
If you quit 4 days into the event like some spoiled 2 year old, stop your crying, look in the mirror and say these words: "We're losing because I'm a quitter who isn't doing what I should to help my friends win".
2> If you're charging 2 or 3 times the normal price for resources people need to be competetive in the event, look in the mirror and say these words: "I'm a useless parasite who screws people over when they need help the most. I should just go bash my own skull in with a crow bar and get out of the way.
3> If you're constanly complaining and making excuses for your losing attitude, please just shut up, stop dragging everyones attitude down and get out of the way.
I am glad that the point was made about the prices in the TO. I am very vocal about it when on the trade tab and usually get told to STFU! I get the old lines of it is capitalism at its best, I do not need to buy the lots so stop complaining, my lots are selling so what is the problem, etc.
On the one hand, I do get the point that it is a free market system and I will be the first to admit that I let the price gouging get to me more than I should, but to hear things like the gem sale is the reason we are doing so poorly or that it is not a big deal to raise prices is just ridiculous. We are in LAST place. Even if you could show me that there has been a huge spike in gems sold on the German servers because of the sale and that the gems were being spent specifically on buildings, upgrades, chocolate rabbits and resources to facilitate balloon making, it would not attribute to how badly we are doing in this event.
I am sure I will chastised for my comments (and that is ok). I actually said I will stop complaining about the prices in the TO (I hope this is not considered doing so) and I do intend to try to hold myself to my word.
I will even go as far as to say that my complaining probably only enticed people to continue to keep prices artificially high so I ended up causing more harm than good in doing so. With that said, if we actually worked together, we could have gotten something accomplished here.
I do not think that this event was well thought out at all but we only have ourselves to blame for our poor showing so far.
There is time to turn this around, isn't there?
Can we just work as a team the rest of the event? Even if we miss the 200% but get relatively close, I would say that it would just show us all that if we had worked together from the start, we could have gotten it done. So then we know what to do for the next one.

I see that some Europeans not in Germany complained enough and were able to get a 3x sale for themselves. I looked at Sandy Cove and saw they have the sale. Still nothing for the US and Canada.
I'm not voting in this poll. While I do NOT think this was a well thought out event, the only other options to vote for are clearly worded as insults and provide no useful feedback. This seems like a troll poll, and such things are counterproductive.
Not sure even if we got the sale it would help at this point.. as alot of us have decided not to spend anymore money on this game with the treatment we have already got... I did NOT quit making the balloons Just have dropped to a much slower rate, but I have blown through all the resources I has stocked up since I began. The problem mainly is the damage is already done.. and for a BB to blame the us servers for giving up is quite BS as we were matched up unfairly after they promised fair.. then the whole lets give a huge gem sale to the servers that were older and had a ton more players.. did not help. At this point I am now wondering why I should continue.. and have chosen to keep trying for those that plan on staying on the game after this event. For me honestly.. I may just be going to another game not owned by UB or BB... AFTER the even as I refuse to "screw" over my fellow players.
what people dont realize is ihave made every extra resourse i have into baloons i dont have the population for 200 wells and if u want alist of who gave what it is for slapping your own back or to pick on others grow up get over it and remember that gem sale screen shot could be photo shop if you havent gone to german server you dont know

They should have also made processed goods worth more than base unprocessed goods. Iron bars are worth more than iron ore, iron swords are worth more than iron bars, steel swords are worth more than iron swords, ect. Instead everything per tier is worth the same.
Maybe they just want to bleed everything out of the economy to halt inflation. Maybe they just don't have a clue as to anything in the game. Maybe they are morons. The groupings of the servers suck also.
There should be some sort of bonus in game for folks that donate... ranked on each individual server. Maybe have tiers of rewards for different tiers of donations. Not just server vs server.

Going down as most annoying person in TSO USA forums.
I am still "participating" to some extent.... but not to the extent I would have if they had really paired us up fairly. It's demoralizing to be slapped in the face over and over and over.... ad nauseum. I still give my guildies free resources to convert into balloons, but am no longer wasting my PH time on balloons. Back to making baskets and deposits for my needs instead. I was all gung ho, until we got discriminated against yet again. This time, my GF even quit playing the game!! Which really saddens me. If it weren't for my close friends on here, I would just walk away myself. I will prolly continue to play, but not with the fervor or delight I have in the past. I will come on and lackadaisically build my fields and mines and send out explorers for treasure, but won't spend the hours and hours I did before. But I will never spend a single dollar more on this game. I used to spend money almost every week buying gems and selling gem items.... but no more. Instead, I will spend my gaming dollars on something different that is NOT a BB/Ubisoft game. Good luck to you all....

I entirely agree with everything that Acharan has said in his above post. I do like this game and thank Blue Byte for their hard work at providing it to us to play.
I am rather disenchanted with the execution of this event on many levels like many here in this post.
The TO spikes and gouging is no surprise at all but still is disheartening to say the least. Lord_Soth_ has very valid points and cause for contention. Again though, it's of no surprise to me. If this were an ongoing event over the course of several months I would be willing to bet we'd see things settle more into a manageable economy, but at its' onset, pandemonium.
I respectfully decline to participate in this event in phase 2 as I severely depleted what excess resources I had beyond my day to day operating stocks (not stockpiles..never had anything of the sort to begin with). I will continue to donate what balloons I do get over the course of the event as they cost me nothing extra, but will not be throwing my pitifully weak and fragile island economy into disarray over bragging rights and gems. Never bought em, my real money has far better uses.
The casual play style of the game has been turned on its' ear with the implementation of this event and has caused all sorts of seeds of discontent among its' player base. If they intended to reduce the stockpiled resources of most of the players...job well done. The community team work could be viewed as both a failure and a smashing success. Depends on perspective, like most all things. The competition among the servers is laughable as (I could be wrong here but doesn't seem like it) there doesn't seem to be a common denominator as a base line among the servers. The playing field seems uneven. Even among the players on the same server, perks given to those donating, proportionately to amount donated, would be far more fair. Allow credit to go to those participating, none to those not. Seriously, who likes a free loader. Almost as irritating as those making a profit and working against those whom are attempting to better the server with their efforts, isn't it?

Ive been selling water in trade since i joined my first guild, i earn the nickname Mr.Water. ive also donated over 200k of ballons in this entire event, so im helping the cause. My prices for water have lowered more than what it was before the event happened. And being told im being selfish, excuse me I think you got the wrong person. I would understand if I did not help are server then I would be at fault. But im not. Im fighting for the server as much as anybody else.
When a tailender whines and blames a contest, it shows a sore lack of sportsmanship and self-respect. The other servers got their act better than we did. Do we give up or try to do better?
It may seem unfair that others on the server are freeloading on the backs of those who donate their resources on the contest. It is not. The other servers also have their share of freeloaders and whiners. They were able to get more people to participate and contribute and perhaps they have their way of helping each other, which we have yet to discover.
It is obvious that we can do better, because the other servers including those matched up with the Greeks are doing better. One would think that a teamup with Ares is better than with the Greeks. If the Greeks are beating us, then the devs leveled the playing field and wiped out the advantage we had over the Greeks.
It is much more shameful to whine about losing than losing itself. Have some respect for yourself.

Very well said Perwyn. I agree with all of that, however i would still love to see some numbers... Even if they dont give us the numbers, i would love to see the equations or reasoning behind the groups. and not just "cause you are both US" or "they are all german". Did you weigh the numbers from phase 1 against phase 2 like we all thing? Did you take into account that we all blew our reserves in Phase 1 and now we can not compete?

Well, It would be nice to know the purpose of giving another country 3 times the amount of gems during a competitive event and giving the rest of the servers a 20% increase especially on AMERICAN independence day. I know the Settlers began in Germany but c'mon they get spoiled enough already why do it during a competition. No one has even come out with a statement to address that. Most of the people I know in both servers have stopped making balloons. For what, the deck is stacked against us from the beginning. I remember logging in the day phase 2 "started" and i found out because the donate button was back on. No announcement or anything. So i don't know in what realm,planet,dimension is this a fair and unbiased competition. Effiluna your doing great this message needs to come to them strong and clear. A lot of players are very angry and something needs to be done about it!
1. Instead of the %...give us real numbers so we know what the goals are
2. during the Phse 1...an announcement that we were close or how many we needed would be nice so we stopped making balloons that counted for nothing
3. an announcemt that told us when it was start6ing
4. Better prizes for the advs...such as more balloons
5. If other countries are given better prizes and better deals on gems..only fair all should receive this
6. Fairness across the board...not all servers are equal...that is pretty evident...so stop pitting us against each other....seeing the same ones on top is disapointing
7. More ways to earn balloons...and to know what they are and what you will get...so you can judge what to do
8. The event is too long and really taking a BIG toll on resources
9. More of the quick advs to earn balloons....gives the lower levels more of a chance to help

I'm likely one of those freeloaders. Do I create balloons and donate? Sure, but it's my lowest priority. Why? It's not at all clear at what the benefits are. Yeah, I know what the prizes are, but it's less than clear what 4th or 5th place will get, much less 10th. I doubt the US server prizes could ever pay for the resources used.
Server pride? Ahem, what? This is a casual game that I enjoy because I can focus on real-life priorities. For my fellow US server-mates, I'm just going to say: Sorry, but I just can't get excited about beating other servers. And before the insults fly, please attempt to explain to me why any of this matters -- I'm still open-minded on the matter.
To Ubisoft and BlueByte, I have to say: could we have a contest other than tediously creating a fictitious resource? A 10 or 20 balloon "prize" should have meaning, not get washed out in a crazy million or more balloon threshold. (Say, what is the 100% level? Anyone know if 100% is the same number of balloons across servers?). But most importantly, how about a contest that can be explained in less than 3 sentences? Why should I dig through a a forum to find important details? And please, put the phase and end date on the rank list!
Does this event bit big time? No, but it isn't very exciting either.
With an event like this for 20 years, I have to wonder if 25 years will even be hit.
