Problem with building in S8

Hey all,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask about this. If it's not, mods, please move it to the correct place.

One of my guild mates find she couldn't build in a certain area of s8:

The area with the pink striped shading is where she can't build her Marble Mason. If you look at the space you'd think she's got plenty of space to place a marble mason there.

Is there some reason why she can't build a production building there? The area isn't highlighted light green like other possible building places.

The weird thing is, she can place decorations there without any problems. Only production buildings can't be placed there.

actually if she knows how to do the shrub removal trick, she can build where that shrub is.


but that spot right there normally has an iron mine right there.

Shrub removal trick?

I thought I had seen an iron deposit there on a resource map. But does the Iron mine take the entire space? And is there than no place left for the Marble mason?

When she showed it to me, I thought it would have been big enough for at least two marble masons, but apparently not.... I can't try it out for myself cause I don't have sector 8 cleared yet :) I've got a few other sectors to clear first lol

you should tell your friend to keep searching for iron and marble till those spots fill up, looks like there should be another iron mine and marble deposit still available for those spots where she is trying to build.

Yes, there should be indeed. Problem is, even when they were there, she couldn't build the buildings there, while there seemed to be enough room... It's kinda weird...

The Shrub removal trick didn't work. Has anyone else beena ble to build in a production building in that exact same spot with the now missing (in the OP picture) Iron Mine and the Marble deposit discovered and working?

that picture is possible yes. shrub trick should work as well.

Is the shrub in the way for this picture? Or is that not the problem at all?

You can remove the shrub and get the same effect.

That's where the iron mine will go but you have a small fraction of time to build a building against that spot if you're not going to build the mine.

She's tried the shrub removal trick, but it didn't work. She removed the shrub with decoration and tried to build the mason in front of the Iron mine like in the pic above, but it didn't work. The area wouldn't get highlighted.
