Bandit Nightmare Adjustment

I would like to support Ron Empire's opinion that the experience reward for BAndit Nightmare be allowed to become Star Coins for Level 50 players. The fact that the Bandit Nightmare Quest gets activated at Level 48 which for many of us was the EXACT SAME TIME that the TAILOR ADVENTURES were released for Level 48-50 players (cannons) has caused many of us to be looking at a MAIN QUEST with no meaning (surely NOT the intention of TSO).

It was a question of timing and TSO has some shared responsibility for this. The introduction of the Tailor adventures was intentional to attract the efforts of players Level 48-50. Many of us postponed the many repetitions of the Epic Adventures to receive the random distribution of gold coins, in order to learn first hand about the Tailor system. Details about the Star coin conversion information was trailing in the timing of all this. Tailor adventures caused many of us to quickly reach Level 50 only to find as a result that we had rendered the quest worthless. (Surely not your intention BB?).

Yes, perhaps we should have figured this out on our own, but a legal expert might say TSO created "an attractive nuisance" in the form of the Tailor adventures, and as such bear some responsibility in this. (Some have said we should have just tagged on a bunch of loot spots but frankly I do not buy and sell loot spots, as a facet of the game - that is NOT truly regulated by TSO,nor should be.)

I suspect that the code to convert experience in quests to star coins is more complicated than we might wish; thus I am hoping for a simpler "fix" that could be very narrow and simply correct the reward for this Quest.

To me this lack of consideration is a slap in the face of lvl 50 players. I have only 250 coins needed to complete the Bandit Nightmare quest, and not get 24,800 XP worth of star coins. Like Domesday I started collecting coins for this quest at lvl 48 or 49.

In addition, why in heck do I continue to get quests with XP rewards when I can't get XP or Star Coins. Sometimes I feel that nobody is paying attention to what is going on.

Besides bandit nightmare, many other small quests and such that we have lost out on.

Would someone explain the difference between getting star coins for XP from adventures, and getting nothing for XP from quests. Tell me why that makes sense.

I recommend our Community Manager here also bring up the issue with the developers.

The MAIN ISSUE is Quest XP (after level 50) needs to convert to star coins.

I feel its considered a bug. There are lots of players who have (and will) reach 50 and have old quests in their quest book that gives XP. These quests need to give star coins.

This issue also affects the explorer skill Sophisticated Pillagers. It gives extra quest XP for completing certain quests.

ALSO- this issue affects Lost Skull and Tropical Island, where if you do those quests, it gives XP along the way.

Your post wimpy saying its not a bug is not going to help. They wont consider fixing it or addressing or improving the game if its not a bug. It's a design flaw. But should still be handled like a BUG.

The more I think of it - this really needs to be fixed (I will repost this on the test server) -

The PROBLEM CAN BE CALLED THREE THINGS LMAO

(1) A BUG - to Ron Empire's point (and technically Wimpy's LOL, as well) - if it wasn't intentional - it must be a BUG that experience points only become star coins as loot - If NOT a BUG - then it is an OVERSIGHT - and those too SHOULD be fixed by TSO, BB's - Ubisoft et. al.
(2) A DINOSAUR - FAce it - the original intent of this Quest was to help Level 48's suck it up and take on the uphill climb towards 50. Maybe the exp helped - and the completion of the epics would get people there - but THIS INCENTIVE - is now a DINOSAUR - as it has been replaced BY TSO, BB's Ubisoft et. al by A better INCENTIVE - i.e. the TAILOR - EPIC RAID SYSTEM ; fixing Bandit Nightmare updates the game and addresses this (surely) unintended consequence of the TAILOR Rollout
(3) A WHACK-A-MOLE - because this issue will not disappear - more and more rising players will make the same choices because there is NO SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING (LEVEL 48 PLAYERS THIS MAIN QUEST REWARD BECOMES WORTHLESS IF YOU GET TO LEVEL 50 BEFORE COMPLETION.)

Well said Domesday. You might want to add the new quests given to lvl 50 players calling for a reward of XP. That is a bug or ?

If i recall correctly, there "was" an option for granite and titanium mines at level "52" in geologist depo/mine search. I know there is no level higher than 50, but if there was, like it seemed BB had planned, xp for level 50 quests would have made sense. Just a thought to consider for everyone complaining about this "glitch..bug" whatever you wanna call it.

i see the start of star coins as a clear sign that lvl 50 is it. no more cap lift no granite and saltpeter depo at lvl 52 nothing. and with a shop to use the coins it's a gimme so if a cap increase came and you spent the coins then you have no way to prove you had that much XP/star coins. as fr all those quests that you guys are crying about if you built the buildings when they became unlocked you would have gotten all that XP before lvling to 50 as i did . do you need a cannon chain, no, not really but as soon as they became availible i built them and the coin quest well i did alot of LS and made that too. i only had a few quest for XP that went for nothing.

I just completed the bandit Nightmare quest. Worked on it for three levels. Question: Should I take the reward of 24,800 XP, which is nothing, or should I just let it sit in the hopes that BB with come to the right decision someday?

Unfortunately Wimpy - they "got" us - take the empty reward and grab the gems and coin for the main quest! LOL

One of my guildmates got support to give them some star coins. So I have sent request along with screen shot to support. We will see what we will see. This is really a rotten deal.

and the quests that the pillager explorer brings back has XP as part of the 30% more loot and that will not convert to star coins . so IMO don't do a pillager explorer wanting to get the more loot adventures it's just a trap

Wow - thanks G-F-M As pillager came after the introduction of star coins - then this is an intentional BUG or LOOPHOLE that our developers continue to overlook - that NOW - by their own logic - should be fixed. Bandit Nightmare predated star coins - but Pillager does not.

Surprize. They have not answered yet.

Bigger surprise. The gave me 248 Star Coins. All I had to do was send in a screen shot showing I completed the quest and they paid up. Maybe it is a bug or an error. Go get your s coins.

I sent in support request from the logon screen. They said send a screen shot. I replied with a sreen shot attached. All done thru normal e mail. Here is their final reply:

We get screenshots from all players when paying out items of this nature, and to make sure that the reason for not receiving the loot was due to a fault in the system. Did you send in a screen shot of it "completed" unclaimed. Or did you send in screen shot of the main quest completed?

The bandit nightmare screen or the Adventures for Professionals screen?

Well. it's officially true. Blue byte can't do math. So I got my 'gift' from blue byte today for "148 star coins". Apparently they couldn't figure out 24,800 XP = 248 starcoins. NOT 148 star coins.


They did write to me as well. Which was nice of them to tell me they sent me 248coins. But the actual gift was only 148. On the bright side, it's nice knowing that its possible to get support these days for game problems.

So thank you BB for that.

Now the question is will they be fixing it globally for other quests as well. Since I haven't finished my fairy tale quests before 50. And the Pillager explorer skills for the bonus adventure rewards. And the side quest priceless.

They may fix it globally, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I guess we should just send in screen shots everytime we (lvl 50c) complete a quest that awards XP.
