My bookbinder is bugged.
He is producing a mancuscript, but every time I log on the timer resets, back to 15 hours.
It has been this way for a couple of days at least. I noticed it tuesday, but hoped the maintenance would fix it. It did not.

I hope you have contacted support before the weekend.
I'm having the same issue. It seems to keep resetting the timer back to the beginning.
Edit: I suppose I could simply tear the building down and rebuild it? Is that even a legitimate option?
I dont think you can. Haven't tried it but contact support and keep track of how much you lost and ask them to have over that many books.
I have sent in a ticket, and received the response that the issue is known and a fix is being worked on....they also said that you should not continue to use it until the bug has been remedied.
Hopefully, they will notify us by email or in the forums when a fix is complete
Book Binder just keeps resetting back to 24 hour countdown. Won't produce Tome.
I am having a similar problem. My bookbinder was working just fine, but since I have a 3 day weekend, I buffed it with a wilderwood resin for a 36 hour buff. I have just over 14 hours to go and it's been working on the same **** manuscript the entire time. When I went to bed it had about 7 and a half hours left, now I check it over 7 hours later and it still has almost 5 hours left. This really sucks, not only is it not making the book in half the time, it's not making it at all.
My bookbinder is also showing wrong times. I tried to produce a manuscript, my binder is level 4 - this should take 15 hours. I started it early in the morning and came back later that evening - at least 12 hours later - and it said I still had 7 hours left. I went to bed and checked it the next morning and I STILL had 2 hour left. By this time it was over 24 hours since I started the production.
Mine is also broken. I cannot produce any more books.
i fixed my resetting book binder, had to spend gems to finish book, then waited like 2 hours before starting a new book, so i think i need 200 gems sent me from support since i fixed there problem
My Book Binder is STILL messed-up. It's still just resetting itself over and over and over. I've wasted every day since last update without being able to make anything to help me along in other aspects of the game.
I haven't heard one thing from anyone about this, even after starting this thread. I'm very disappointed in how this bug is being handled.
I am glad to see this thread. My bookbinder has been endlessly producing a manuscript for the last 2, almost 3, days. I have multiple screenshots that show the production time has actually gone backwards throughout today. I submitted a ticket but have not yet gotten a response. I will repost here when I hopefully get a response from BB on Monday.
Same old, same old. :)
Same here, monkeys can write a chapter of Shakespeare faster!!!!! Sstupid BOOKBINDER!
I think the people with bugged bookbinders should be given a book each day as compensation for being unable to make one at all. I would have no problems with it being a manuscript and having the goods required to make it removed from my island, it'd at least keep those of us who are affected from falling behind on upgrading our people.
This bug is affecting lots of people. Submitted a ticket with no response from BB. There are other threads that mention the same issue....
BB- multiple tickets have been filed on this issue. Can these players get some info? No response to my ticket filed almost 48 hours ago. Thanks.
I had the same problem and sent a ticket in. I received 200 gems a day or so later. But I think it has stalled again. :-/ I wonder if something in the Halloween Event update broke it, since it seemed to happen at the same time.
My bookbinder is stuck on producing a codex and will only count down when the Bookbinder interface is open. It has been like this for at least 3 days.
Just realised I have this bug, and its terrible. Didnt realise it was resetting and wasted my buffs.
Mine unstuck itself overnight with the maintenance, but I still lost a Resin buff :(
I'm having same the same problem, hopefully maintenance will unstick it....
This is my third post on the forums, and I have submitted 4 tickets, when do we get an answer to this? Worst customer service ever.
Spleeter and WhiteKite, please check your email as your tickets have been answered within 48hrs of your submission. We have no response back from you on them. Replies go to your email you used when signing up for the game.
greetings ...
I do appreciate that you guys sent me 200 gems to complete a book due to the bookbinder bug however when the building bugged I had a 24h buff on it. As you know these were quite limited, they were only given out once.
My bookbinder is level 4, I was running the buff as I was anticipating getting two tomes in the 24 hour cycle, the buff was completely wasted as I got 0. Sure, the 200 gems gets me to instabuild 1 tome, this still leaves me out on the second.
I guess I am saying I really would have liked getting the buff instead of the gems in the end.
Also, and this is from the ticket I placed and BB's reply ...
Please be aware that attempting to create another book can result in this issue occurring again. We will be unable to provide you with gems if this occurs again as we are working to resolve this issue. We thank you for your patience.
I still have 2 "Wilderwood Resin" buffs in stock and I would like to use them, you can understand my trepidation in doing so at this time as I have no idea if the bug is officially fixed. It seems to be from what I can tell, still I would love for you folks to make an official announcement that the issue is addressed and closed. Will you clearly make an announcement when you have signed off on the issue in the news section? That would be kinda nice.
Have Fun,
Erasmus Crow
Well, yes, I received the emails, but there was nothing for me to respond to in them. Your email stated that this was a known issue and not to use my bookbinder. I believe I responded verbally with words that aren't allowed on the forum. I can respond similarly in text but I doubt that's what you mean by received no response from me. Actually, you did receive a response - further posts asking for more information on how long the people affected by this bug are screwed out of making books. In one of my posts I asked for those of us unable to make books to be given a book each day, even if you feel the need to remove the materials to make that book from us. For that, and my question of how long are we screwed, I have received no response. So I guess I ask yet again, how long? And can we be compensated a book for each day and in return pay those materials out of our storage. That's not too much to ask, it's not even the equivalent of what we would be doing if we weren't affected by the bug.
No proper response to my tickets filed days ago. Actually, over a week ago. Fun game.
I only stall for 4 days. Am I luck?
I am into my second week without the bookbinder...is this being worked on? Haven't heard anything new since my original ticket....
"Please be aware that attempting to create another book can result in this issue occurring again. We will be unable to provide you with gems if this occurs again as we are working to resolve this issue. We thank you for your patience".
Please send books, so I can catch up.

Is the email I got, and then BB_Tophour says "We have no response back from you on them." Exactly what response is there to give to an email that asks for no response? Except to continue to ask somebody to help out, give us books, tell us something, anything.
When the Mayor is upgrading or producing a collections buff or if there's a completed collections buff waiting to be picked up it can throw the bookbinder entirely out of whack. There may be other causes not yet identified but those seem to be the most common culprits.
Same, for over a week.
I'm having the same problem. I thought I was going nuts and not being able to remember when I started making my last tome, but I'm glad I'm sane. :) Hopefully there will be some recompense for this delay...
Nu-uh....the bookbinder keeps resetting. There is no book to be picked up, because it never completes. In my instance, there was no upgrade happening on the mayor's house or bookbinder and there was no buff on the bookbinder to send it into a glitch.
And thank you Spleeter for your comments...I got the identical email after my ticket was sent in, and they did not ask for any response.
Please send books, so I can catch up.
That's it exactly.
Did you also check your Mayor for a forgotten "collection" buff being built or waiting to be picked up? Something is ridiculously bugged somewhere and clearly a better response from support/the Devs is needed but until (if) something like that does roll in it's worthwhile checking all the causes uncovered by players the world over. They may, in some cases at least, provide something of a workaround.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people. We asked for updates and updates tend to break things.
STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM YOU PEOPLE. Yes, I am yelling.
Still no info on this. I'm not playing this game until they decide their customers matter.
My mayor house did have a buff waiting for me to pick up. So I picked it up, and am about to go see if I can make a book now. *crosses fingers*
