Ok, so I wanted to do some rearranging, and find that there is now a 1 minute delay after each move. Seriously BB, this is what you spend time on? If your goal is to deliberately make me spend more time in game, your efforts are having the opposite affect. I have given up adventuring due to the fail of a barracks queue system, now I guess I just live with my island as is.
yeah its fairly annoying. of all the problems with this game, they change something which only adds agita to the player
They did it to avoid a bug that was caused by moving things too quickly; however, a few seconds is all that is necessary, not the asinine length they implemented.
OMG the sky is falling come on ppl it's only a minute and how much rearranging do you need to do as a higher level?
I found this annoying too. I am rearanging to clean up the Halloween stuff and put in my Christmas decorations. I rarely get time to play anymore, every second is precious.
If you are only moving decorations, it would be easier just delete to star menu and rebuild in places you want them.
Next up to reduce server lag:
15 second delay between being able to add buffs or deposits.
I was moving buildings, rebuilding some, adding christmas items. Game is boring enough, lets not add cool downs to it
There is a major glitch on what they did with the moving thing...
One of my friends gotten banned because he moved to many buildings around on his island.
Is in aide to help prevent Zone Crashes... :o

ive seen players mention this, and didnt think it would have a effect with me, but i have found myself simply waiting for my one min queue to be up so i can keep moving buildings around BECAUSE WE HAVE NO SPACE with 340 buildings, not counting guild house, fairy tale castle, recyclers, silos, watermills, ect.. that one minute hold time, has led to me having time to come to the forums and complain :P could be a way to keep us quiet, let us game
so if you want to keep this one minute hold time, i recommend adding more land/island or players will leave in flocks again.
(im sure ill still be here however giving my 2 cents :) )

RonEmpire is correct. I'm not sure why 60 seconds was chosen over 10, but it's likely that it wasn't a random choice. Through testing, the 60-second time limit was probably found to be the best choice in preventing zone crash errors.Quote:

Whereas USA etc i have no opinion.
This subject to me is a bittersweet thing that will haunt this game until someone be it by membership or management, gets a totally serious look into WoW problems and then takes hard hard look at this games netcode... for the inventor of this base, should be _____. If it happens to be the same net code from SettlersIII, then there is hope, until i know if this is fact, i cannot help...
If LoU gets plugins immediately when updates occurred, that says allot for the membership for that game. They don't whine and there of course is complaints, the membership though supports the Devs fully and management allows freedom of writing code for its game and approval is almost instant, and as a player there for over 1 1/2 years, we use firefox, chrome, all updated plugins if not auto config, were/are made available via game forum.
By the way, the ingame Guild administration, mail system, et' al' for that game, if any ideas for our game were brought to our Control panels, it would be the best thing that ever happened to this game, for it does have the most superior of all mmo's I've experienced.
What i must stress though, Settlers Online, far out does all of the MMO's online, is this simple fact: We have total communication, and interaction with management, as well as a RealTime Live Testing Server, that allows us to aid the Developers, pre-Live.
Again this is my opinion only my opinion, and is based upon the many years of vast experience playing the biggest MMO's for years. Asiastrings
This cool down thing they added needs to be removed :( I want to rearrange my island and I don' have all bloody day to move sh*t around!
Why the heck did they add this STUPID cool down into the game? Why?
Is bad enough we have a cool down clocks on the Star coin stuff that is a real pis*-off as well.
The cool down things NEEDS TO BE REMOVED from the game :)
My guess is they chose 60s because its a nice round number, and they did not test lower intervals. they just simply could not conceive why high level players might need a lower time. The devs have been quite clueless on a number of issues, this is imo just another one. Not the most impressive group of programmers.Quote:

Zone crash? I always believed it had something to do with poor connection. I never got a zone lock for building or moving things to quickly, ever.
I wouldn't go that far... Haven't seen a response to the 10 pages and countless requests to let us queue more than 25 in barracks or PH.Quote:

I was locked out with a Zone Server Crash and was told, point blank that is was a server issue. Many were. I have extreme lag and such horrible issues with my game it drives me nuts. Anyone is welcome to come to my island and watch my FairyTale caste "ZZZ's" that move up and down stop and freeze. This happens every 30-90 seconds and lasts for 8-15 seconds. Additionally, I have to build fields and wells twice and cannot assign or un-assign generals quickly. It is NOT my internet and it is NOT my computer. It is my game and has been tested. Anyone can see, the server I am on is broken or over-loaded. I has asked for my account to be debugged and to have my game switched to a different physical server, then the one I am on. NOT from Zeus to another, but the actual physical server that is in Texas.
Clearly this 60 second "FIX" or attempt to stop people from moving stuff around has DONE NOTHING to fix the server. In fact, my game gets worse by the day and it has been 4 months now. Still no word from BB on what they are doing it. Not surprised if my account is placed on the complete bottom of the list. Am I complaining, YES.
I am saying this cool-down of 60 seconds is BS and should be removed. Those that know, know the real reason why you put it in, so we can't remove bushes anymore and add more space to our islands that are packed with trees, bushes and stump WE DON'T WANT.
Putting a band-aid on an open wound never solves anything. In fact, all it does is gets worse over time. Fix the problem, first then you wont have to come up with these lame excuses as to why you are taking away our abilities to increase our space. Fix your servers and let us play the game, that I have personally spent a lot on.

I think you're right Stevie.
I've had zone crashes still happening not related to moving buildings.
It's just bad programming. They should learn to fix it.

As you guys know, programming is a daunting undertaking. Even when there's just a few lines of code, there's multiple opportunities for things to go wrong. Has anybody gotten the move building function to work since the update? My button is lit up now, but then it won't let me click any buildings.
*edit* - Its working now, just had to reboot my PC.

No more cool down but I have had 2x Error Zone crashes during this event.
I crashed nobles to replace them with Witch towers and Frozen manors.
Then I moved a few new buildings and then SHA-BAMMM Error happened.
It's ok I don't rage over it. Everything about this game is slow going but rewarding
