Manuscripts and Tomes vanishing

I produce manuscripts and tomes and they just vanish when I click the "accept" button.

This has happened to the last two manuscripts I have produced and the last tome. In all three cases, I click on the "accept" button, the little FX of stars takes place as they zoom up to the upper tool bar and then they just vanish. When I check in the mayor's house the inventory shows zero on both items. If I try to add manuscripts and or tomes to geologists, there are none available.

This means I've wasted productions days and inventory manufacturing items that just vanish.

The game is like molasses at the best of times but this is a waste of days, yes days.

I know the idea is that Ubisoft want us to use our credit cards to speed the game up but this is ridiculous.
