Dear Settlers,

A new version is planned to be deployed today (01/14/2014) on the the public test server.
It will introduce a new building:
Granite Pit

Please keep in mind that this is the first test version of the new building. Hence, the final design and balancing may differ.

• Level requirement: The minimum level to get the new building is 26.
• Capacity: 1000 units of Granite.
• Upgrades: It can be upgraded to level 5. This speeds up the output and the building will deplete faster.
• Limitation: Once per week. You can acquire it in the "Architect" section.
• Tradable: No.
• Building license: No building license is needed.
• Buffs: The output can be increased by applying productivity buffs.
• Refill: There are no refills for this building.
• Moving: It is not possible to move this building.
• Recurring: The building won't go back to the Star Menu when it's depleted or when you demolish it.
  There is a warning message when you want to destroy it.

Valentine's Day is getting closer and closer. This year, players will be able to acquire a special box called "Buddy's Valentine's Surprise." Feel free to test this special box in advance, just visit the test server.

Terrible. Bb obviously learned nothing from the village exotic tree school building feedback. In fact bb must have ignored the community. Upgrade costs and gem cost is still over

Thevalentine box is also disappointing. Test server results indicate crappy items from the box. I think they're trying to cash in on the master artitect idea. But horrible loot won't sell this new box

They've never had a granite mine in the time I've been here. What they had back in the day was the greyed-out option to send your geo's out to search for granite mines.

Hmm 1975 gems for 1000 non refillable granite or do 1 black knights or roaring bull adventure tempting............you should take this comedy show on the road. Granite pit good idea though balancing could use a little work :). Really is it to much to ask for a little value for our hard earned money?

Price point makes it so they will make zero money, it must be hugs

We might be better off buying granite on TO for 1.8 gold coins each.

not sure about the Granite pit. Running Premium and getting extra loot works better for me

3x bonus gem sale. = lots of money fast!

Up the gem cost, make it permanent.

This really is quite silly. Yet another gem item. How much more pay to win can you get.
Don't get me wrong, a new building is "new content", which is great. But it's just another *gem* building. Give us more CONTENT. More things to do. Why can't we decorate our islands a little more? As one example. Cmon' guys :/

So far, sounds not worth it. I really hope you're right Asiastrings, and that it will undergo extreme scrutiny.

I hate all the constant complaining and bashing of the developer team. It just makes everyone sound so spoiled or something. People should express their complaints without making personal comments about the development team. (Evil J did it best with his kitty, LOL)
But that said, there is no way i am going to pay gems for a building that depletes itself very shortly and cannot be refilled.
To me that doesn't make sense.

We are in fact Testing PHASE 1 of our Winter Phase's, (lmao of things mightily coming forth in near future)...

Current results, based on 737 "Buddy's Valentine Surprises", opened by 12 players (who all play on 5 different servers normally), in order of rarity:

• Exotic Fruit Basket (20.08%)
• Chocolate Rabbit (20.08%)
• Love Potion (15.20%)
• +2,000 Gold Ore Deposit (14.52%)
• Cookies (11.26%)
• 3 x Bronze Cauldrons (10.18%)
• 2,000 Gold Coins (6.78%)
• More Secluded Experiments (1.49%)
• Return to Bandit Nest (0.41%)

Why pay 1975 gems for a mine with 1000 granite when you can pay 1990 gems to get 1000 granite instantly? I would think the instant granite would be better than the ability to buff... at least if you're gonna spend gems anyway. (Thus the purpose of buying resources with gems)

A granite factory should be a legitimate building, part of a legitimate supply chain. Maybe level 40 or so, cost ewp and granite to build, and for every 24 minutes+ produce 1 granite (per level of course) out of 10 marble and 1 gold coin. This is consistant with both the trade office value, and the granite conversion available during christmas. This would not significantly change the value or availability of anything.

Or you could cut the price in half. And why isn't there an endless iron mine?

it's actually gonna be 3000 or 4000 granite for 1975 gems plus the cost of the x3 or x4 buff(s)

not terrible and much better than 500 granite for 995 gems which is the current cost in the shop

By permanent, i meant in the model of the gold mine, so maybe 500 deposits that cost 100-125 gems and when it hits 0, it stays empty but does not die.

much better deal to just run adventures for granite than buying that lame building.

You know the only thing that makes this building a Failure is the fact we cant use deposits on it.

They would sell Hundreds of thousands of Omniseeds over the next 6 months if it was.

make the granite mine economically plausible to buy- either putting more granite in it, making it refillable or lowering the cost.

I have a feeling asiastirings doesn't actually play on a real server or spend real money. Nothing else could explain her optimisim.

Around the granite mine, its an interesting idea however it and the exotic wood mill are flawed in design. There are two ways to put a bandaid fix to it.
1) Gem price decrease or Quantity of deposit increase
2) Increase cost and make it a permanent slow trickle of granite/elogs (both buildings)

The better option IMO would be to make the building refillable from rare adventure drops. Take the adventures currently not run for efficiency (SE, Gunpowder, BN(?) SOTV) and add a rare drop to their final slot that gives refills to these two new buildings. Make these drops only available through running these adventures and you would singlehandly begin to close a gap in adventures that just arn't viable to the majority of your player base and give these buildings an actual incentive that encourages people to PLAY the game instead of static output. You could also take these new co-operative adventures that on the surface look like a bust and add drops to them as well.

It's a nice graphic though atm BUT make it so it is placed in a mountain or on a rock spot that would not normally be used for a building space. It will look more authentic and make people happy over the fact it doesn't waste a space.

They can save some art designer's time and resources by re-using the various poo deposit graphics as the building.

I think maybe the "1000" granite was a programming error. It should have been 10000.

It would need to have atleast 7.5k granite in it to make it worth that amount of gems, what a stupid idea.

Instead of releasing stuff that no one will buy with gems, how about making little changes to game content and playablility that will keep people playing longer and enjoying the game.

Guild banks were talked about (a great idea), but instead we get buildings for gems in a BB cash grab. I'm aware your a business an need to make money of micro transactions, so how bout a guild bank where there guild can buy extra space at the cost of gems (reasonably priced of course), or a function to combine items/stacks/deposits for a small fee. That would net you more $$$ than the exotic wood or ganite mine combined.

Also, we have kept asking for a custom top resource bar that will display resources of our choice. This is very useful during events, and useful if you only trade/deal with a few resources.

Little things like this need to be taken on board by your development team to increase the general appeal of the game before trying to get people buying more gems on buildings. I don't have a problem with the idea of new buildings more so the cost of them in gems, when it has already been pointed out by others that the in-game free methods for obtaining exotic wood and granite are much more efficient and cheaper than blowing gems on these updates.

As I said with the other non-refillable building... why not make it possible to BUILD refills in the Rarity Provision House...I don't know what the upgrade costs are gonna be but who's gonna build it up to level 5 if the cost is anything other than pretty darn cheap.
