I also have had a very "poor luck", where i have done my last 7 adventures with no Granite received at all. I would say this is just a coincidence, but too many people in my guild are saying the same thing is happening to them; combine that with the fact that the price of granite has gone from 1:1c to nearly 1:2c and it's obvious that the problem is global. Now add in that Granite-Pit is on the verge of being released. Everything here points to Dev's changing loot drops to sell Granite-Pits.
12 adventures 1 granite drop. The most dry streak I had was 5. Ever. I think some of you who still are getting decent drop rate are not "normal" just extremely lucky. Wait till your granite drop chance get to the new "normal" and then you will join the pissed off crowd. I talked to my guildies and it seems everyone noticed a big change in the loot drop. People said it was around 30-60% before Xmas, now is more like 20% or less.
There is no doubt in my mind BB has lowered the granite drop rate to sell more of their "amazing" granite pits. Granite prices skyrocketed since Xmas and it has been already 2 months and they are not coming down simply because there is less granite drop in adventures. You can speculate all you want, numbers show otherwise. And 2 months of high granite prices speak louder than all speculations. Thanks BB for your 'nerf". New silos was first now this is another reason not to spend even 1 more buck on you. Keep this up and by end of the year watch out for some company "trimming" once gem sales start drying up. Seems game industry is the only one that is purely unable to learn from mistakes. Amusing really...:)
Judging by the rising number of people moving from being disappointed to pissed off at BB and the "development" of the game I would suggest saving the pics of current team. I don't think these guys understand. No special "powers" will help them keep employment once gem sales drop in half or more.
You guys are in a customer service industry and since the security of your job depends on your customers you better start paying attention to what your customers express. Wouldn't be surprised September quarter comes and some of those "special powers" will be filling up new employment applications:)
Tip from 15 years veteran MMO gamer. DO NOT piss off people by nerfing loot drops. EVER. Do what you wish. See the results by summer.
Really....people do not understand the term "RNG" - Random Number Generator. Given many advs have a 25% or so chance at granite, not surprising when it does not work. the odds of only getting granite once in 7? pretty darn good. 44.5% chance that 7 straight RB, I would get 0 or 1 granite drops. Look at the advs on a macro scale and it balances out, and not just whiners ;).
lol
Oh, also, granite rising fast is NOT from less granite drops. Its a combination of the market returning to normal as the big spenders return to buying granite from a lull due to MA boxes combined with a dramatic upswing in inflation from the new Employee of the Month badges making most gold chains, x3 buffed instead of x2 buff.
I would agree with you Droconus, but the 7 adv's I did were a combination of 1 Nords (37.5%* granite drop chance) 4 Surprise Attack (33.3%* Granite drop chance) and 2 Stealing from the Rich (50%* granite drop chance) the math equation then, for a total strike out on granite is .625 x .666 x .666 x .666 x .666 x .5 x .5 = .031** meaning there was only a 3% chance of this happening to me; unlikely but possible. Also RB gives 25%* chance granite drop. I did the equation and it comes to a 13% chance for you to go 7 straight and get no granite; again, unlikely but possible. Now in my mind this becomes a "play" by the Dev's not because it happened to you or to me but because it is happening across the board.
*see cempire.org summary of adventures **equation formula (percentage chance in decimal form of not getting granite multiplied by the percentage chance of not getting granite in the next adv and so forth. if an adventure has 1% granite chance then the formula input for this adv would be a 99% or in decimal form a .99)
you win some you lose some. when ppl were saying that RBN loot was changed (for worse) i was hitting double codex in multiple loots + granite pretty much every time. Now i cant get granite if my life depended on it (codex/tomes still pop up from time to time tho). When someone* goes on a long streak of granite they (most of the time) wont make it known to public and in particularly post on forum, but when things dont go their way is when people usually go public.
a 13% is an event you will likely see occur at some point. play long enough and you will be seeing the .05% events. and i took a half dozen graduate courses in probability. i know how to calculate this stuff ;). without knowing the exact mix though i could only guess.
