Easter 2014 General: Master of Martial Arts ?

Master of Martial Arts ?



I'm not sure what to think about this.

Master of Martial Arts is 220 units general.


I'm not exactly jumping for joy.

Granted you guys did change him from Last Strike to First Strike. But I'm not sure if that's enough to make him worth using compared to a 270 general with first strike units.

(requires some more testing to see if it's worth using. possibly just situational against wolves trap camps)

Way too costly in Eggs for a sacrifice general. I guess the extra cost is for the avatar look to him. Okay. I'll buy that I suppose.

Maybe he will be useful when new Skill Trees are available for Generals.

On the test server he's a 220 general. Not sure that'll make a huge difference but it'll be interesting to see what the AoE effect is like.

The 450-500 first strike attacks weakest target damage (80%) is going to make things interesting. He holds 220 troops, but the general attacks like he's got 50-55 extra cavalry with every single round -- so in attacks that include cavalry, the 220 Master is as effective as a Major. In places where you want to use cavalry, but can't due to enemy troops with 'weakest target' ... this guy is a game-changer.

This Master Martial Arts General kicks more butt then the Veteran Generals.

Just think about it, He's First Strike, Attacks Weakest Targets and does 400 - 500 Damage.. That's enough to kill 90 - 100 Cavalry or 40 - 50 Bowmen. This thing will be perfect for sacs for Tailor Adventures.

So i'm more excited for him then the Major General or Veteran General.

Which Simulator do you use? I use the German Simulator and it has the 220 General on it.

If the Devs dont alter him before he goes live at Easter, then this is class stuff :) Perhaps you could paste this on to guildies.

"- You can send this guy solo with 1R to clear out all of the minor "Forest Traps" on Stealing From the Rich, speeding up that adventure and signficantly reducing the need for cavalries on SFTR. Against the south castle (Big Bertha), he plus his 220r will outperform a Major General with cannons... same for Sir Robin Camps with archers or cavalry. I would estimate he can cut the total losses on SFTR by over 40%.
- He will do miracles on Horseback, where you're normally sacrificing tons of bowmen against First Strikers ...
- On Outlaws, he will SIGNIFICANTLY outperform a Veteran General. He may even outperform the Major on some camps where you're feeding recruits to low hitpoint targets such as dogs or rangers.
- On Traitors, he is a marvellous "First Wave" on the boss. Depending on how you set things up, he can cut down your total adventure losses by some good 20% as compared to the "perfect setup" now, without MA.
- On Witch of the Swamp, he'll outperform a Veteran General on all but the final Witch Tower - where he'll be the First Wave, allowing you to save those 20c plus some recruits. Will save you about 50r 20c, which also cuts losses by some 20%.
- On Motherly Love, this guy will allow you to kill ALL the gunmen and Petty officers when brought with 220r, completely eliminating the loss of cavalry on that adventure! (300 cavalry saved!!!)
- On Return to Bandit's Nest, this guy will save you around 200r on the "Fast" version, cutting your total losses by over 50%
- On Gunpowder, he can singlehandedly (given 220r) kill the final boss camp, completely eliminating the need to send 2 waves ...
- On Secluded Experiments, he will perform miracles on any Caltrop camp: he'll save you hundreds of recruits overall...
- On Roaring Bull, he will perform at least equally as a Major General when killing nonboss camps. If he attacks the Cataphract (idk if he does) then he will outperform the Major on "camp 2".
- On the "Lost Skull", he will also do better than the Major.
- On VTV, he will eliminate the need to lose cavalry completely. You may lose a bit more recruit, but will save 160c.
- On Old Friends, he will eliminate the need to lose cavalry completely. If you're doing the Abridged version, that cuts total losses by nearly 50%.

Summary: The MA General is not a "no brainer" who is directly superior to the Major General.
However, when used properly in the proper circumstance, he will reduce your adventure losses by a significant amount.

Adding to this the fact that you don't need to spend 160,000 coins (the price of the beanstalks required for the Major) which most lower levelled players don't even have ... the MA General is a highly interesting addition to your army. Actually, as a global rule: Any camp with Caltrops, the Martial Arts guy will outperform the Major."

psaltery, I agree with all your points. I'm not sure how a lower level guy is going afford 2395 eggs (I supposed the 50,000 coins I expect that to cost will be relatively cheap comparatively)

His 450 damage on a tower (building destruction phase) vs. the 120 damage of a Vet or Major .... will be big for those of us that block.

just think about what the gem cost will be to buy him after the event

the 220 gen will certainly be worth buying. the major is also lvl 47 to get.

One of the things I've learned about BB is you don't want to overly hype something and make it seem like its overpowered. They'll just end up nearing it.

Like Weak Potions.

Well, If they nerf it now. Then you know they are doing this stuff on purpose.

it is bb after all. I would not be shocked if they wait a while then change its stats

It states one ... but if the general is alone at the end of any stage of battle, you lose automatically -- before he even loses his HP.

Just 1 HP. But it is the last target to get hit.

Ive never understood why player generals always have 1 HP, when the enemy generals always have a ton. Whats up with that!?

A general that acted as a tank would make it so you would have no losses most of the time. You could basically cause all the enemy damage to splash.

Yes this sim has the new general Here

The Sim has him alright, but he's still being calculated as Last Strike Unit, so not quite up to date yet.

when does the event start?

You can select 220 from the drop-down, and just click the master radio-button.

Although I simmed 1R against the DB tower, he killed all the SS and 6 FD ... but it didn't display the results properly.

I think My point is still valid. I didnt say our general needed to be 50k hit points. But its sad that a trained military general cant be 100 HP while the untrained generals are huge.

After having owned one, and have run stupid numbers of sims (using http://www.settlersonlinetools.com/e...r=2/waltraud=1 and picking random adve/camps) and personally running VTV both with 2 vets as backup, and letting my MMA recover to do the entire thing himself(using blocks with normies also) I have to say that I'd very, very happily and readily, swap 2 vets for one more MMA. PLEASE let us buy this badd asss mofo in gem shop in future, I'd LOVE another. I do not have major YET, but after running sims with both, I think with 1 major and 1 mma, I could prob do pretty much ANY adv with little struggles. In VTV (And vlt but i only ran 2 of those) My losses were VASTLY reduced. In average, 30ish less rec losses PER CAMP, and vs the wild mary camp at end, slightly more rec losses(10 more than most guides) but 90+ fewer cav losses (And no soldier losses other than the odd 3-4 on camp 11) means MMA has saved me VAST amounts of re-train time and production costs in materials. Saying all that I do fear that they may 'nerf-bat' him, really hope they do not, because any reduction in any of his abilities will just make him a 'improved' BHG and really reduce his use(To nothing more than the odd sacrificial gen or vs traps)

I love him and can't wait till I can pair him up with a major and see what I can do with the pair.

(Also, now that hes out, and after Easter with him possibly being a common item for many players, I hope the guide makers start writing guides with him + vet/major in mind, being that he will become a very well used tool in combat. Again, like others have said, he don't 'completely' replace vets/majors, but I use him as often, maybe more now, than my vets.)

From what I have heard of people who play on test, MMA general is avil for gems after Easter. But the limit of 1, will be 0, if you get the MMA during the event.
If you plan to spend gems to get eggs to buy the MMA, just wait until after Easter. I did the math, and you'll save a few around 50 gems.

As said in a previous post, going to need a lot of new guides made. Different general amounts, types, etc, up to 1 Major, 1 MMA, 3 Vets (or 4 vets for the "vet" players that got a vet from last years Easter)

I sent MMA to leader with 220R and I had 30 PO left!

he's 7k gems after event least on test.
