Can't make new troops- military doesn't add up

Edit: after clearing out my barracks, I noticed that when the 25 troops disappear they are going bask into the barracks queue.

So I have NOTHING training in barracks, 133 recs, all is well, I visit someone else's island, or an adventure, and bam back to 108 recs with 25 training in barracks.
