Dear Santa, I know it's early but...
There are only 2 things I really, really want for Christmas this year. I'm writing to you early this year in the hopes you will understand just how badly I want these two things.
First, as you know, because you know when I've been sleeping and been awake, for heaven's sake, I have been very very good this year... so far. I have been removing evildoers from the islands around my little nation as a service to all mankind. It is a hard job and I need to do it repeatedly because evildoers are very persistent about returning to the islands I've cleared out. What makes this duty cumbersome at best is that my poor generals do not have a proper staging ground. When they return victorious from smiting evil they often sit in the boats off my coast, luckily their troops are able to meld back into society and live with their families while they are at home, but my poor generals require a proper home for their garrison training grounds. The only time I'm able to get them ashore is when another general leaves to handle some other vile evildoers. As you can imagine with a staff of close to twenty this shuffling on and off of boats waiting in the harbor makes them rather irate and prone to fits of pique.
What would really make me happy as my first gift this year is to have a proper mustering ground for my generals.
What would make this gift the best ever is if you would allow me to have 'assigned' seating so returning generals could always find a spot in the proper hierarchy. Did you know my Major General is extremely snobby and will not mix with the 'common' generals? I know this is a bit much to ask but I'm afraid if I don't keep ol' MG (that's what we call him behind is back) happy he may leave my service.
Second, I have a warehousing problem, not with my warehouses in particular, but with my S.T.A.R distribution center. (if you don't know of it, it stands for Services, Technologies And Resources). I'm sure you know this because you watch them too but my explorers are a very disagreeable lot, they know I rely on them and thus are very recalcitrant in my check in procedures at the STAR center. They bring back all manner of wondrous things, but every so often the bring back things that are either disgusting or things of which I already have a healthy supply.
For instance, they bring back these wretched cheese sandwiches which I never use, but they delight in presenting them as though they were made from gold, They taste horrible and I would like to just throw them away, but for some reason I can't seem to get anyone to do it for me, so I would like to be able to throw them away myself.
Another thing they do is bring back things I already have, for instance we have a local delicacy which makes my workers very happy made by my Aunt Irma Bombeck. I produce quite a lot of these substantial meals and they fit quite nicely in a 5x5 delivery pallet, but for some reason my explorers love to bring these back and with fiendish glee hide them in the STAR center and it takes me a significant amount of time to find these individual meals they bring back. As I mentioned before, my explorers are a disagreeable lot, but what would really help me is a way to organize my STAR center such that these individual meals were easier to find and/or a way to have my staff combine them automatically with other 'lonely' meals. It would be ever so much less frustrating to find these hidden 'easter egg' meals at random places within my STAR center.
In short, my second request for this Christmas would be some better inventory control systems at the STAR center.
Thanks Santa,
I know you're the man for the job.
