Thoughts on Halloween Event 2014

Since there seems to be no topic on this yet I'll start it :cool: my thoughts on Halloween 2014:

loved the fields
another Voldemort I mean Grim Reaper :)
please village schools
silo or imp silo
more doors
do the golem again around 24 rather than 48 and tweak the number of items to kill it:confused: maybe make them collectibles :rolleyes: not sure how that would roll

zombie and mr myers good for buffs

of course collapsed wall and tombs

but it should be fun i have already bought some pumpkins and have some left from last year (not much but a few)

now tell me what y'all think :) and maybe the devs will look here and get some ideas (doubt it but still :))

Grim is garbage. Silos are garbage. Not a fan of schools. Zombies and Mr Meyers- have enough from Artifact searches to make them not worth buying with precious event items. I hope BB adds a new GOOD UNLIMITED item to the event item list for Halloween so i have something to spend the 250k pumpkins i have on....

As of now the only thing i would buy from halloween shop are the pumpkin patches and the grim reaper (just to have) and i guess sell the remaining pumpkins if nothing else GOOD is added.

I imagine it will be very similar to last year. I'm not sure what new things they could add to it aside from throwing in a new adventure. What event had RtBN? I'd love to see a Recycling Manufactory, even if it's just 1 for a ton of pumpkins.

I have resorted to running adventures back to back to keep up with my 7 level 5 village schools. They max my 15k population quickly. For those looking for that, I'd def recommend them.

Halloween is usually the following items:

Silo
Recycling Manufactor (this might be Christmas I know it's either Halloween or Christmas)
Village School
1 Grim Reaper

and they will put grout in.

I honestly would like to see improvements in the game, ie general skill tree. Home Island Skill tree, or other level 6 buildings. Or have a way where you can stack items within the star menu. Or up the quantity of troops/provision trained instead of at 25. I know all this is doable. Instead of "introduce new buildings", start giving us what Settlers promised yrs ago.

i love the idea of Floating Haunted houses, and i like grout as a event only item gives events something to look forward to, and 50 gold coins is the max event items sell for.

you would be surprised Scuzz

Based on the preview, I really don't know what to think yet. The goblin is still there. It looks like the pumpkins from adventures will be very limited. There is no mention of pumpkins from searches yet. I like the fish farm idea. I'm guessing Grim will still be around.

I hope that after spending gems and resources on the many Explorerers BB has been offering that they will be used to search for pumpkins...

I don't do any of those adventures, but I'm assuming the bulk of pumpkins will come from searches. I hope so anyway because I plan to overload on explorers by then.

I might like the fish farm. That's another thing I'm tired of refilling, although it does not need to be done too often.

There are improved storehouses, village schools, and silos on test. I can always use more storage space, but I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of the other two. Good to have the schools just in case I suppose.

This will be a nice change of pace, but I'm not seeing anything out of this in the same league as the last few events.

I dont think explorers bring back pumpkins during Halloween.

Boo. I guess I'll just save for another gem pit first then.

The past two halloween events explorers never brought back anything. I'm not suprised this one doesn't either.

Thoughts on upcoming Halloween Event:

Pumpkin Cementary Buffs - Please tell me that other buffs are allowed on them other then from mayor's house.
Grim Reaper - Yea I'll aquire another one even though I hardly use him. But it's a tradition.
School House - I'm running out of room on my island, I'll probably pick them up and keep them in my star until I can get more room made.
Level 6 Mill/baker - Waiting on silos first.
Golem - eh indifferent.
Fish Farm - No need, takes land space so far. And improved provision building covers me. I don't need to replenish my fish pond except once every 6-12 months.
Silos - Already have plenty, won't aquire more.
Grout - I'll purchase with the extra pumpkins I pickup for lvl 6 buildings naturally.

It looks like maybe 3000 pumpkins total, not including collectibles. Seems like a decent amount. At least this is one event where most players are on pretty equal footing.

You can use other buffs on the cemeteries. However, I like the 4x buffs from the mayor's house. They use barrels, grain sacks, and leather, none of which I otherwise ever have any use for.

I'd rather be able to upgrade my fishery to lvl 6 than build a fish farm. I'll take the silos. I haven't decided if I want a second Grim or not. I use him as a 15 min troop dropper, but I rarely attack anything with him. Grout is always good.

farms look alright to me saves BLs and from what it looks like it's tradable so i'm sure after the event like with the ISHs they will be tradable

no server combo on golem but it does now have a percent timer :)

Fish Farm 700₴ 3 + one min on production but no need of refills:)

for me getting schools and farms *shrug* i like em :)
silos and warehouse may get and sell :)

and i just might start getting grout for my bakeries and mills :p

So according to BB on test forum the only advs that will drop pumpkins are:

Nords, Wild Mary, Gunpowder, Sleepy reef, The sleeping volcano, Pirate life, Buccaneer roundup, The siege, Raiding the raiders, Whirlwind, Lakeside treasure.


I find it interesting all the coops except TR which is weird why leave that one out. So many of those advs in that list are basically only bought through gems. Also with no scouts bringing back pumpkins this could be a little on the boring side.

Perhaps people werent aware of this. It seems that the post on this forum and the test server event window are from past years. If this is the list we should let them know what changes need to be made.

I think it would be nice to see at least 1 epic adv, TR should complete the coop set, and maybe some follow ups or regular easy adventures like WOTS, horseback, pirates or something like that. I get that not all the advs can or that they dont want them all to but this selection is pretty poor.

Uhm i saw a different list of adventures that dropped pumpkins...i might be wrong though
