Endless copper mine economy

As i keep accumulating gems from my pits (started with 1 pit a while back, on my last available pit to be purchased soon) i started thinking where to spend my cash. I thought maybe a an endless copper mine?

Here's the simple calculation: if i just sold my gems (at 20gc per gem as is effortlessly doable - take special gold mine for example) i would be able to buy 10,000,000 of copper ore. To manufacture 10m of ore (with - to make it easy and generous - the following assumptions: fast lvl5 mine with 100 sec cycle, buffed for free for 50% of the total time) it takes OVER 4 YEARS.

Before building endless copper mine, be sure and have your geo find one that produces ore twice as fast as normal. Then your endless mine will really spit out the ore.

what was the value u used for copper ore?

and your point is? a lot of purchases/upgrades are not practical. compare this to a lvl 5 imp silo.

my point is that a working, coherent economy would make this a better game, too bad it's in shambles....

well 3 ECMs at lvl 5 on a fast depo bring in 5900 ore every 12 hours unbuffed. just the convienience of not rebuilding 6 mines twice a day is worth it imo. if you have the gems. cause you could always put up 1 FM, 3 schools, and fill the rest of insland with store houses and do LSs til you drop

well, what i'm saying is, alternative to having ECM is just buying the end product, whatever it is, ore, swords, tools..whatever... so with nearly zero effort on your side (placing trades) it will take 4+ years for the ECM to pay for itself. in real world that wouldn't be bad at all..in settlers world it's an eternity
