just saying, slashing rainbow drop rate by at least half should warrant a refund, given that books are most expensive/time consuming things in the game...

Where did you find out about this Wujcio?
Think it was a dry spell. Only got 2 rainbows the week of 8/22 to 8/28. The one week period before & after got 12. Averaged out, it's below normal by a hair, but need to wait and see. It usually balances out in the long term.
I don't know when I last saw a rainbow. They have nerfed the distribution.
Back it up with notes, or my bet is your lone explorer had a bad week.
change was made around the time of "chat maintenance" (8/15)...on average i do 20 artifact searches per 24 hr...i have had a week off from the game... so 2 weeks, total of 280 searches i have found 8 rains in that period...what is it? 3%? down from 8-10% before
I haven't actually counted and I do a lot of searches as I have a large group of explorers but I also have noticed a drop.
Yes definitely a drop, got 2 rainbows in 7 days 2 searches a day 8 explorers. They had to nerf it. I had about 5-8 per week before.
At least have the freaking balls to post official note about it and stop sneaking like pus ...ies. How do you expect people to respect you?
yep same here i get about 29 artifact returns a day and have noticed a drop to 1 snow a day if i am lucky. was getting between 2 or 3 a day on average and on occasion 4.
The best part of this is that they also clearly increased the chance of fish plates. At this point it's beginning to feel like they are clearly trying to drive everyone away from the game.
can you smell what BBs got cookin?!?!?!? RAGE QUITTERS!!
I run 10 fast artifact explorers, and 3 lucky artifact explorers. I used to average 3 snows a day. After that maintenance it has averaged around 1.5. At this point I am not investing anymore books into explorers, just saving them for BB's next "great" idea.
i had 1 explorer with rarity before the luckys came out and did them 3 as rarity also, yes i don't listen to all those edumacted BA guys, and the rest with arifacts. lol i guess i beat them to the punch now the rarity guys are doing much better than the artifact ones. MUHAHAHAHA
Don't worry, they'll nerf the magic beans any time now. :-p
Usually get 8 to 10 so average has been 9 rainbows per week.
7/25 to 7/31 = 8
8/1 to 8/7 = 5
8/8 to 8/14 = 10
8/15 to 8/21 = 12
8/22 to 8/28 = 2
8/29 to 9/4 = 12
9/5 to 9/11 = 10
The week of 8/1 to 8/7 was low, with normal drops on either side of it.
There was a really bad week recently where I got only 2. On either side of it, drops were higher than normal.
The average of the above drops is 8.42 a week. Still a hair below normal by 1/2 a rainbow.
Since a bad week/low drop rate has happened 2 other times, I thinks it's just how rainbow drops work and don't believe the drop rate was changed. I expect to be back to an average of 9 per week soon. If not, I'll post again.
How many artifact scouts do you have perwyn. i mean i look for at least 1 or 2 a day at least but i have 10 scouts and 3 luckies going for artifacts. That gives me 29 artifact returns a day.
Have 5 scouts going out twice a day. Just added a lucky to the mix a few days ago. So went from 10 searches a day to 13 a day.
I think this is the problem because i have 2x the number of searches and i am returning the same amounts approximately. And this amount is actually higher than it was where i went a week getting less than a handful.
Are you writing down your results? I know there are weeks when I think it's been crappy, yet when I count up what's in star I'm pleasantly surprised. I place rainbows every thursday evening, so that's when I count them up and track what I use for the week.
i collect them all for now, since there's nothing to place them on at the moment (selling is most profitable option at 2,500)... 20 rainbows in 28 days since 8/15 on 420 searches.... below 5%....
I didnt write down my results. However take today for instance 0 for 26 so far. I have had plenty of similar days lately. And yes the 0 fors may balance out over time usually but right now that balance seems to be a significantly lower percentage than it was previously a few weeks ago.
Guess we could keep this thread going and post our results from time to time. Who knows, two weeks from now you guys might be finding lots and I'll be complaining about crappy search results.
My intake over 4 days (the granularity I balanced around) varies a fair bit cycle to cycle. Some are horrendous, others are monty-hall, but the average over time hasn't shifted. I do 24 searches a day between the different type of explorers, my long-term average is just over 2 a day (low point 36 hours no drop, high point 5 in one search/7 total that day)
drop rates have always been tweeked so dry spells come and go but it has seemed like it happened right after a miantenance. if they wouldn't address the issues of book resets or bookbinder resets after the acheesment system started what makes you think they will now?
I don't generally track but did last week after reading this thread. I do a bit over 50 searches a week (ideally 56, but I usually miss a few). I found 4 last week, so about 7-8%. Okay results.
Week of 9/12 to 9/18 got 9 rainbows. Still in my normal range. However, after adding a lucky explorer about 2 weeks ago am expecting my finds to increase by 1 or 2 a week. So far he hasn't been very lucky. Time will tell.
750 searches since the 8/15 change - my drop rate is around 5% ....
I had 3 the week before last. Not impressed.
Then this past week, I had 7, even after missing a few searches due to all the server problems, so it added up to about 15%.
I've just about got enough books to fully upgrade a lucky explorer. Not sure whether I should bother yet or just wait or maybe go with rarity instead.
The week of 9/19 to 9/25 got 10. With 5 scouts and 1 lucky, that's 91 searches a week. So that was 10.9% of 91 searches. Week before was 9 so 9.8% of 91 searches.
Is it at all possible that there's some "diminishing return" logic at work here? The more scouts you have the lower your percentage of rainbow finds, so nobody can become a rainbow tycoon? It seems like everybody that's saying their drops have gone down have lots of scouts searching for artifacts. With 6, my normal percentage of around 10%, so far, has stayed about the same, with one bad week where I only found 2.
i really don't keep numbers but i do have a lot more fish platters and solar flares. on the other hand my rarity guys are on it like white on rice
