If you spent big bucks on an Improved Silo, you want to get the most production profit out of that silo you possibly can. The attached diagram shows how to use the "hex" or "honeycomb" placement with your improved silo to maximize farm production.

Thanks that's how I have mine setup
how about design a 'perfect setup' with ISH + IS?
AS it is, if u want to go 3F+1IS you end up with odd gaps in the placement (both because of the ISH Having a fat front end, and the weird short production time of the IS)
ALso had people suggest 2x IS + 3Silo setups, but I can't get it to work right.
The Improved Storehouse will mess up the Hex placement diagram because it takes up exactly 1.5 building spaces. That's why I don't include it in my calculations. However, to get the most bang for your building license you could try placing your base line 5 across and group around it like so:
Improved Silo Field Storehouse Field Improved Silo
I am trying to purchase another Improved Silo on Zeus to try this placement in Sector 9, if anyone is selling one at 25Kgc.
Remember that to get the most efficiency from your hex placements, you must offset the farms and supporting silos.
The cycle time is shorter for the improved silo (4) vs 12 minutes for a farm.. You might want to factor that in, too.
what do the 8's and 6's stand for?
