this thread is a perfect example of how this change is going to be a major FAIL!!!! did anyone at UBI put in any thought as how this acheesment will be completed???? prob not. i'm thinking they will just change the requirments for it. tsk tsk
I wasn't doing the adventure, just re-posted the results other players put on test forums. Most people do go there anyway, that's why I put them out here.
If you think from player perspective most of those changes don't make sense at all. However, if you look from perspective of BB (read: more gem sales) they are perfectly logical. Why would people buy endless iron mines if most of adventures can be done with recruits and bronze swords (endless copper mines)? Hence the argument of "we never planned for Recruits to be the main troops to clear adventures..." So you waited 2 years with the change? 2 years ago Endless iron mines and Epic weapon yard were not even on the drawing boards. But they are now...Lets suck the wallets dry!
I have no problems supporting with my money developers of a game that I enjoy playing and I usually do. I do have a problem being treated like a stupid child, and a cash cow to suck dry so someone can have a comfy job and being lied to my face about it. Nobody has the right to do so. And don't insult my intelligence by covering up the real reasons for the change. MONEY. I am pretty sure most (if not all) testers understand this now.
There are much better, most efficient and beneficial to both devs and players ways to keep gem sales flowing. When you introduced the Improved Silo the better option would have been to sale an upgrade to an old silos which would remodel it to the Improved one. This way people who have old silos would buy the upgrade anyway (for gems) and players would also keep buying old silos because - once they had enough money they would upgrade them in the future. (or just buy new silos altogether). You could get more gems flowing, players would have better silos WITHOUT feeling as being treated like cash cows. Instead, devs chose the F U road.
You are steady and surely building a grave for your own game. I know you don't give a crap now since the new game is almost ready to launch. Here is something about people you're (in your greed) forgetting. Burn your customer base here and you will not see people coming to your new game. We are customers and you are the service providers. Forgetting this is a sure and proven way to ruin your business. Even in gaming industry...
gem sales will not help with the quest to do a IOTP with just recruits. you might get to the last leader camp but how costly will it be?
Enjoy it because MA on test will not do anything for you now. And you are going to lose some M and LB (more if you don't have the Major Gen). the cost of IOTP will barely be covered by the 50% of granite drop. Enjoy the game and the adventures like you do know. Once the change come life you will be playing an entirely different game. Less loot, more cost, more losses and much slower pace of doing adventures. That is what all those changes boil down to. I guarantee the level of enjoyoment will drop in a half (at least). Will you still play it? A lot of testers don't think they will.
yeecks...
The numbers being used were out of date at the time this post was started. There were changes in place for the amount of weapons needed, amount of resources needed, and production times, and it was already posted that these were just preliminary numbers that would be adjusted as testing continued. Using even the correct provisional information would go a long way towards the post not being considered panicking, as would posting it somewhere where the feedback would actually be viewed by the people making decisions, rather than on a completely different forum.
In general, however, the general problem is that high-level players will not be able to farm Island of the Pirates, an adventure first available at level 26. As island clearance is typically complete at approximately level 32 (assuming the player is not getting significant adventure experience before completing), this means it is available essentially the entire time the player is doing adventures. With the experience difference between level 26 and level 50, and the change in troops available, doing the adventure as a level 50 should be a joke. Sadly, it has taken this long for Blue Byte to realize that something is unbalanced with the combat and reward system.
Random babbeling about troops.....rabble Rabble.....ok now thats out of my system the thread wasn't can you farm or not. the thread was about can you complete IOTP with just recruits for the cheese points. yes a lvl 50 can throw all sorts of troops at it but can a lower lvl player?
I'll have to get back to you on that. So far I have worked out a Dark Priests, using only 200 generals and R/M/C/S, and am working on Horseback now. Those are no block solutions, and can likely be refined once there is a better simulator suite available. As IOTP is available for purchase, I can start on that next.
