sjoe. so many negative comments. I'm not too pleased w/ things i see (that aren't even completely changed to test) in the test server, but i do know BB is trying. and listening. i know tons of ppl who want pvp. i'm not one of them, but ppl don't seem to realize that pvp would take all sorts of different items that they would add just for the pvp. it's not going to impact ur home island, it's not going to impact ur current productions/trades and whatnot. and they've always said it'd be voluntary so only the ppl who want to play it would be impacted. if you don't like it don't do it, but honestly, why all the negativity?

They'll have to get a new name for PvE Player versus Environment sounds :rolleyes::rolleyes:
The correct answer is "chicken butt".
Rather it is pvp or pve or any other expedition thing it will affect us. New buildings mean more space needed. With the changes on test we are going to get cramped pretty bad because of so much coal needed to make all the weapons. Most of you guys think it will be like with bronze, you replace few bronze swords makers with iron/steel and its all good. Well Iron/steel production requires about 3-4 times more coal than bronze/copper. Have fun fitting all those cokers/wood cutters on your island...
It's like a domino nightmare. One change affects 10 different things in game. This is the problem when 2-3 different design teams working on different projects. All great ideas and once they come in test - the game becomes a horrid chore that no matter how many shiny new buildings you put in gem shops will not stop people from going "Screw this, I got plenty of chores in real life, don't need dozen more in what supposed to be fun.."

They've come up with something like an extended adventure on a new island, with 3 options to choose from. PVP seems to be limited to defending your new island from some random opponent whose explorer happens to find it. PVE seems to be defeat the bandit camps, get resources at home for a while. The first option, expedition, is similar, maybe less combat & resources paid out?
At any rate the new buildings are built on the new island, not your home island, so space isn't an issue.
The combat changes aren't final yet, we still have time to go play on test and howl at the devs to make the changes reasonable. The changes may never even happen. Remember when they were going to "balance" pine production and all the noise. Then what happened? Nothing. Who knows what's going to happen with combat? Does that even have anything to do with this new feature?? Guess we'll find out Monday on the test server. See you there!
If these 'new islands' have marble deposits to dig out and exotic wood to cut down, then this could be a nice addition to spice things up a little.
