The game has been broken for a long time. The Devs just keep putting bandages on it to keep it going. Some bandages work better then others.

While we all must use commons sense in preparing our island for maintenance, I am curious about something. If an unanticipated/unannounced, extended maintenance results in special gold mines, granite pits, etc., collapsing, would they be replaced or are the players just out of luck?

on a positive note the word "complete" was removeed on the homepage by todays maint banner
lol that why u never run any those buildings when maintenace is due and or you are low on resources in it. personally i prefer to keep min of 5k , then things dont go boom :)
and besides the game pauses for durration of maint. so in theory if you had enough to last the night you should be good. that being said plz read the disclaimer
They just put up notice that they have extended the down time with no ETA as to when it will be done.
