Gem sales are slow because:
1. New players are not excited about the game as we (50eis) were a year ago. (personally I believe the game got much harder for newbies lately)
2. Old players are sitting on piles of gems bought earlier and the logical ones will not waste them on some buggy crap
3. There are no goodies during events worth spending gems on. Remember the Xmas when you could get Frozen Manors from gift boxes? Check your data BB see how was the gem sale that event and compare it to the one last year...
There are some people who will always buy new "shiny" thing even if it is crap. Unfortunately for you BB, you are running a game with very strong economical feature, requiring planning. And quite large part of your player base do that well. So, thinking you are going to boost sales by offering stick and very little or no carrot - that's day dreaming. If you wanna milk this game for gem sales for couple more years, you better get your heads into it and show us some carrot, especially during events, when people are inclined to make a purchase.
