While I am glad for some players that the mma is available with stripy eggs, what do we do with old eggs? Is there a trade in for them now that you have changed your minds after announcing that the mma was NOT going to be available.
Fair is fair, and I have spent considerable amount of time collecting old eggs to help fellow players get a mma. So the ONLY fair thing is to not only keep the 2014 items as originally planned but add the mma for new eggs.
After all, my game play has been predicated on the previous announcements. And honoring the previous announcement is only fair. AND adding to it is only fair
It is stuff like this that will loose you PAYING players, just to appease those that will no pay, and guess who pays the power bills for your servers and who pays your wages to put food on your table? PAYING players.
And for you that thinking paying is not fair, reality check, settlers online is set up that paying only enhances game play, it does NOT give any sort of advantage as all of our islands are the same and perfectly playable without and with gem purchases

I don't understand why this event there has to be a new resource, when that hasn't happened in the past. Each event people attempt to buy after the event, to stock up for the next year. Plus with advertising these "old eggs" will be used again, they hit the TO harder to help others, that needed those items from last year.
I do understand making them available for new people with new resources, but the old eggs should be worth something!! For those that have played this game for years, last year items always worked the next. Yes we usually get screwed during the events as there's nothing for us, other than to help new guildies that weren't around the prior year. At least let us help them, since barely anything good for us.
Having an event mid summer to use them, may be fair for the other items, but since Eggs have been on the market due to 'Easter Advertising', those should be kept as they were advertised with whatever additional changes to the new market that BB wants.
Many people spent lots of coins to get the old eggs....now to not use them - harsh!
A total rip-off, not offering a 2014 Market for the old spotted eggs! Not sure if anyone a-Greed-s with me, thanks for helping me balance the scales on purchasing any more gems BB?
So... BB goes futher down the same path...
They did that to Anno Online and now porting the same to other project:
a) Changed event resource for every new event (oldresources WERE NOT refunded or exchanged regardles of what they said they will do)
b) New curency was made NOT TRADABLE and rather scarce so in order to get better items you need to spend rubies (gem)
c) So far main means to aquire game resources are to build some specific building and click on it every X hours. (It has cooldown/prpduction time, requires other resources and there is a limit how many you can get) So if you aren't active player it's no fun at all.

Still no refund, but worse that items were made not tradable. So you could not spend your useless resources like gold nor get desired items without spending gems. But It's probably worked for them otherwise they would not do the same here.
As much as I like this game, this may do it for me, this change. Lots of other games out there for me to spend my money on. Take at look at my account BB and see just how much income this game stands to loose. Now multiply that by how many of us spend real money on this game.

I'm very happy that more new players will now be able to obtain their MMA. That is positive for the game and I think we need to keep that tradition of being able to obtain one good gen with event items around. The legendary vet doesn't count as a good gen in any way.
But while I'm happy that the developers are paying attention to the feedback this is very far from an ideal solution. I'm aware that the events stay subject to change but the original dev diaries and announcements about the old eggs is what has caused the skyrocketing old egg prices and the rush for new players to obtain old eggs so they can get the MMA. You now have thousands of people who have spent tons of coin and resources already to obtain old eggs and be able to get a mma without spending gems. I know several people on Ares that already spent over 200-300k coin to get their eggs. They were working hard and preparing ahead of time as most good players do. Now they will be punished for this. I don't understand the point or positives of completely getting rid of the old egg market now.
Introduce the MMA into the new market for Stripy Eggs. This will allow new players to obtain them. But keep the old egg market around just as planned so those who already wasted all their resources don't get totally screwed. Easily done. Everyone benefits. Bottom line is not negatively effected.
SO, old eggs shop - so loudly advertised - just dissapeared as sudden death? Thats not the way to act in my opinion. Make whatever you want with new eggs category, but such sudden and lest say harsh move - no way for this game and for a players here.
SOme and many of us just bought many dotted eggs exactly for this one feature - and now what - we must just take a word- ( who will quarantee that it will not suddently CHANGED again) - about some further summer event and so. What to do with a planning in this game , which as a option just was killed with this move.
I think game team must think about changing back this two shop feature - no need to make some players look as a fools here.

Two shop categories will provide the chance to grab special items for old & Stripy Easter eggs.
This year will be the last chance to spent old (dotted) Easter eggs!
What happens to my old Easter eggs?
They can be spent for 2014's event items.
The shop from 2014's event will be available during this year's event.
Some of the old items can be obtained with the old Easter eggs OR Stripy eggs.
4 years, and I have seen both sides of things, this time YOU ARE WRONG. to tell us one thing then wait before changing your minds, that does not work in a game like this. Are you now trying to drive all the older long time players away, if so you are sure going about it the right way.
The first of the year would have been the time to announce changes, for next year and give us this year to work with what we have. As a guild leader I save all the unused event items from all the members to be used next year to help new members or those who didn't have a chance to get what they needed. Now you are making all that futile. Give us a chance to make the change. Don't ruin it and the game.
I don't know how you look at your profit margins, but you should rethink a few things.
I like this game and most of the changes being made, but this change was not well thought out.
I am not a new player and I like the changes.
I tried test server and actually I like the whole event.
Wow I don't believe while playing this game I have ever lost so much value in having things in stock. So by invalidating all of the past event items are you going to offer a gold coin equivalent to make up the value we have lost in items that are now basically a quarter of their value or are there going to be unique items available to purchase with our old event items that were not available before?
After reading the last comments, I would like to clarify something.
The Sneak Peeks are previews of upcoming features, and contain information about features and events that are not yet in their final state.
Sneak peeks provide brief information about an upcoming game version and may not reflect the final status of the content. After the game version is finalized, a corresponding developer's diary will be published.
We post them to give you a chance to know what we are working on, and to give us feedback. I talk to many of you in-game, and the majority said that we should listen to our player base and the feedback you leave on the forums.
Yes, we have made some changes to what we had originally announced: we listened to you. The MMA will be available for purchase with the new eggs, and we gave you a heads up about what will happen to previous event resources, which you will be able to spend this summer.
Again, and I cannot emphasize this enough, until the information is in the Dev's Diary, the actual contents and features are subject to changes.

I like people that keep their word. I based over a weeks worth of playing this game on the word that old eggs would be able to be used for old event items. I sold and bartered for old eggs so I could use them in the next Easter Event. And now you go back on your word. 350k coin worth of eggs are now useless in this upcoming event. Poor play. Went back on your word. I am disappointed to say the least.
I understand that Endesmor. And I think most players do as well. We know things are subject to change and that their is a risk involved in planning based on the sneak peaks, dev diaries, and announcements. The fact still remains that all of the old egg trading and bartering was based on the announcement that there would be no vet or mma in the new market but that there would be mma and vet available in the old egg market. Every announcement and decision you guys make has an effect on the Settlers trade market. All of the money spent by these players on all servers in order to be able to obtain their mma was based on the previous announcement. Making the MMA available in the new market is very good for most players and a good decision. But nothing positive comes out of removing the old egg market from the merchant. It just hurts those who were already working toward it. Why not leave the old market as it is but allow the mma to be purchased for new eggs as well. Limits can stay the same. Nobody is negatively effected.Quote:

Bravo to BB. They have done a courageous thing. The ability to trade in old event items during the summer is a great compromise to the out of control inflation that was occurring. Just think, ppl were paying up to 200c per EGG. that is an inflation rate of %1000. This is a better alternative and should calm down the crazy market. Also, I want to say that these events are really a gas. We get free items, cool thnks and mostly for nothing. Thanks for the game.

We will be able to use the old event items during summer to obtain past items from event tab in merchant, so no one is getting "totally screwed", we just need to wait to use them.Quote:

We never did it easy ever. They didn't introduce Prem time until after I lvled to 50. You have no idea how easy you have it.
Well I guess that all depends on what sort of offers we see in the summer :) But I'm assuming that most of the people who went out and spent all these resources on obtaining old eggs are not going to wait 3-4 months to get their mma when one is available in new egg market. And it would definitely seem like a smart plan to get one while available since I'm sure the summer event is subject to change :) So unless the limits on these gens are raised in the summer it seems likely that buying those eggs was still a huge waste. I'm not negatively effected by this change either way. And I'm happy more people will have an opportunity to get MMA. But I still maintain it would be a much better solution to keep the old egg merchant around as originally stated and just add mma to new egg merchant. This would easily solve both problems.Quote:

Awesome, assuming I can correctly interpret this as meaning that new stripy egged purchases are not limited by old purchases. Another MMA makes the event for me.

Thank You BB for giving new players who were not playing last Easter a chance to get the best general in game. I don't give a crap about what older players are entitled to. Sit in circle near campfire and talk about how hard it was at the beginning without MMA, premiums, or multiply sliders and such. I will join you and we can even make "The Old School TSO" club.
And at the same time I will smack your entitled ego hard anytime you will raise hell on forums about what you think newbies shouldn't have because they didn't know the game last year. Let me help you pass the elitist prick attitude toward newbies. Do you know what happens to the server when they stop playing? How many of you moved from Zeus to Ares?
Mounting obstacles toward new players and creating atmosphere of "us vs them" is the surest way to make the entire game looking like Zeus. And where would you re-roll when that happens?
I see that one of my posts has been removed. What, scared of someone throwing out the thought of a worldwide settlers boycott on new gem purchases? Hmm perhaps this is the real way to get the developers to honor what they said was going to be...... by going after there pocket book.
Or, perhaps this is more to your liking.. just refund me, and the others what we invested in getting old eggs and we can call it square. You have my account information, you can see what I have spent, and just return it, and I will sit down and shut up. Until then, I am owed what was said. No more, no less. Period.

Very uncool bud. Some of us new players (me = 6months) where MISLEAD into thinking this was a sure fire way to get a MMA and Vet. I spent/sold/swindled WAY over 200,000gc in coin, grout, granite, beans, xmas frozen manor, ANYthing nailed down, etc .... to get the 4000 old eggs for the MMA and VET. This comprises my entire 6 months of game play. GONE. WIPED. POOF!!. DISINTEGRATED. GAME OVER MAN. I am now broke :). Did i waste all my money and time? Summer is coming but does that really get me anything? will i get my 200000gc + investment back? Only my bright goddess Endesmor knows .....

I do not think that older players being upset had to do about BB making it easier for new players or anything like that- more so that in any game there needs to be certain benefits for older players than newer players (if there wasn't there really would be no reason for any player to stick around long-term wise).Quote:

I have taken many new players under my wing and shown them how they can easily progress in this game- it seems like the only person with the "us vs them" attitude is you......
I did the same 6 months in last year. I was pretty much broke until the end of the summer event, but MMA and Vet are so worth it. Though I could see where this would be a hardship for a new player, compared with someone who merely opted to pass last year.
I imagine a compromise is forthcoming. One with old eggs if not purchased before, one with new, something like that. Then everybody is happy. Except for those who aren't.
I have to admit, i sold about 9k eggs or so for 20-25granite per and now that easter shop has changed I do feel bad about selling my eggs. The prices eggs were going for may have seemed ridiculous to some but for people who know a lot about trade and item values in this game, comparing gem prices of unlimited items which are around 25gc per with gem prices of limited items- gems for limited items are worth x2 more- so then when you calced in the difference of the total value (in gc) of MMA cost in the easter shop to the cost of MMA in gem shop, each egg would be worth around 150gc per. Now..... there were some players who have been playing a long time but missed last easter event who did know this and were paying those prices because they knew it would be well worth it. But now all of those players and any player who bought eggs for the MMA are S.O.O.L- only thing you can do is just hope that when summer comes we will be able to trade them in for very very good items at good rates.....
