That friends list... just... I mean... really...

I know this will be ignored because it might take 15min to design a new mockup of the list, but really this thing has got to go.

Let me give you an example, considering u have 3years of friends on that list.

Lets assume you need/want to buff a friend whose not on. Search him on the list. Not alphabetical listing.. but it is.. sorta.. but not really...

by level too, ok.. was he level 50? 49? Hmmm no clue. Switch page by page, wait for names/icons to show... can't see full name, was his name starting with capital or not? HMMMM

WHY the hell not just DITCH that freaking painful mishmash silly (HOW the hell did u manage with that anyways) list and give us a 'friends' page we can click on, and show names by ABC, ZYX, 50-1, 1-50, guild, online/offline. Geezzzze I mean like the way ANY and ALL social 'lists' are done but you guys, I am really baffled as to how u managed to go this long with that headache, and how the heck did u manage to even get what you have, Not even sure the 'ordering' criteria.

so my suggest to be ignored for the day: Please whack that friends/social list down to nothing and make a new, more logical one.

I think it is a fine idea.

I agree; I also always find it off that you cannot see what guild your friends are in by clicking on their icon or something.

The only people I have on my friend lists are people who I talk to fairly regularly. I don't have a problem with the current system myself.

yes, the friend lists is unusable. I have only been playing for 4 months and I can't even use it. It should be sorted by popularity - the amount of times you contact them.

Or better yet, why can we ONLY invite friends to adventures? 99% of all friends on EVERYONES friend list is just people that once or more invite to a loot spot.

I would like to see the friends list in a Guild List format.

Then maybe BB would let us have profiles. Click on the name in the list to see the full profile.

+1 Clicking on the Icon of player visiting an island.

Would be nice if player icons were displayed at adventure islands.

Showing a players level in Chat by clicking on the name, or displayed like a tag, would help a lot for new friend adds, recruitment, and in Help tab.

Whatever is made, think Low Lag. Fast to open, fast to scroll. Clicking on a name could expand a menu ... that could have some lag.

This alone would make a huge difference. 90% of the players I'm scrolling through aren't even online at that time.

Thanks, Atma-Darkwolf, for taking the time to start this thread. The friend list is frustratingly outdated in its functionality.

I'm only playing since November 2014 but I sold/bought a lot of loot spots, so my friend list is huge... very complicated to find someone and much more complicated to check if a friend is online...

How about just create a favorites filter? An option 'Add to favorites' when clicking on the friends name and a tab (like 'all' or 'guild') to show only the ones we chose to add on that list.

Guild officers should have some sort of different color font and extended ascii character before their name in the chat window and some sort of denotion in the guild list on horizontal row.

I think this is a good idea. maybe have 4 tabs. all, friends, guild, and then acquaintances. cause lets face it friending someone just so I can buy their LS doesn't make us "Friends" are we acquaintances... I don't see why not. Also, keeping the "friends" list themed. I just don't see a Favorites a themed if you catch my drift.

on another note I think I saw someone saying something about colored text in guild chat. I think that would be a great idea. choose and give colors in guild chat by Guild Leader permissions.

I also think that the ordering of the friends system is kind of sucky cause I thought for a long time that Khamuul and Greek_Spartan were level 50... they aren't makes finding them incredibly hard beyond the 7 pages of alphabetized level 50 friends.

I am a player who has a huge, long friend list. When an unrecognizable name/player buffs my island, I sure would love to be able to look person up by his/her player name - not try to go through each sheet of friends to figure out what lvl he/she is...It is very time consuming when all one wants to do is reciprocate the friendly gesture.

I like all the above ideas, and maybe add one more: players under the age of 18 (16?) having specially colored text, or a different font-face. Unless a player chooses to let us know they are underage, we can't tell. It's helpful to know that for a number of reasons, such as being more careful before inviting them into a global chat that isn't as PG as global-1, or so we know to try a little more patience if a player is confused by the convo (on either side ;) ).

Yes this would be very useful. Sorting /searching friends would make the game play a lot more user friendly

Even if it was basic - choose to sort by (a-z) or level or on/offline

even better to be able to type the first few letters of a friends name and find them in your list

This way you could see if they were online, easily message, etc etc etc

I am enthusiastically in favor of a searchable friends list. If i could type the first few letters of a name and find the player, I would be v. thankful.
