3x gem sale right during the event would be a killer success. People who already been playing for 2-3 years and already have stockpile of gems from gem pits sure are not interested. But many of new players would be really inclined to spend money an such offer. I would suggest to inform about a sale few days before. So, players would talk in guilds and get some incentives to buy. I help convincing few guildies to save money for gem sale simply by explaining how easier the game can be with a smart purchase.
I assume sales are much rarer than they used to be because many have plenty of gems. Well, BB got to come up with some clever and useful ideas to spend them. Demo crews were aimed specifically toward old (rich) players. I am waiting for expansion islands. Meanwhile, Water Plants (placed on water lots instead of land) could be a good buy.

they never tell you in advanced of gem sales, and deff not when they had the 3x ones. I think they just made a mistake when we got one, those are usually reserved for the euro servers not ours. but keep up the fire and keep asking!!!

I believe the last one was during the 2014 Easter event. So I was hopeful for this year... especially since everyone needed to buy more explorers after they nerfed them. Sadly, too late for that now...
