I havn't fully explored yet because I don't really need the space yet however I did find that the small explosion one if used on S7 to the far left definitely gives fantastic results (freed up enough space for 2-3 buildings for me)
Here is a link for all the information you need on explorers, but you have to use Google translate on it since it's not in English. So get the Google translate add on for your browser and then demolition teams will become clearer.

Once you click the link there will be a blue link near top of page that says Translate.... click that also to get the page to load. Or using Firefox browser the bar at top of page that says allow comes up and you have to click that, seems either way works fine for me.
