I don't think 850 gems is gonna be much help. Missed all but the last 2 days of Easter event and was really hoping the next one would help me. Oh well. :(

Looks pretty good to me! I can get more floaters and more recyclers, both of which are limited items. I can get another MMA if I so desire! I understand the limits on the explorers, would have been nice to get another 2 lucky's but it's fair to have the limits as they are.
Looking forward to it. Thanks for the opportunity to spend our old event resources as we choose instead of just converting them to gold coins. Good job, really good job.
I think that this is a very nice BB garage sale, but as far as an "event" goes, I am currently disappointed if the tokens cannot be obtained also through loot drops or discoverables. If that is the case, then this event really does nothing for the newer players and/or the non-gem players.
Other than that, I like the conversion idea.

I like the idea of getting rid of the hoards of event items (mine too). but imo they should have just converted everyone's items and been done with it. what if we don't convert them? and what about event collectables are they going to disappear like the soccer ones did (even though some of us used gems to get them in the boxes) we got ripped off then and nothing came of it. new event items made this last event at least a small challenge, to try to get all you could during an event. but yes without ant way of obtaining tokens besides converting your event items all this is going to be is a click fest (kinda boring if you ask me) but thanks for at least not making all the items we already got limited, I can at least get a few nice things
Hi everyone,
I've just published the third part of the Dev's Diary with more details about the various conversion rates.
Thanks for your feedback!
BB_Endesmor
boo on the "old limits" for explorers...
also, did was it ever decided if the converted tokens could go automatically to inventory, or will we be needing to transfer everything manually from the star?
Hi,
Quick note on the links in post 2: Post #2. The links to the limit issues is incorrect/broken. Though it is obvious what the link refers to...
O right, so I am first to brag, whine, complement and such. Go Plumz!
Not sure if this is an event, really. Looks more like a summer garage/yard sale - clean up. Great idea, allowing people who didn't get enough resources to get stuff they wanted during various events to convert them all and get goodies. Some of those offers are quite tempting so the TO will explode with sales and ripoffs so people better think twice before buying and fire up those calculators.
Great gem sales opportunity for BB since most people will be somehow short few (or few hundreds tokens) to get stuff and definitely will be tempted to purchase token package or two (or 100 as some will :). Kudos to whoever figured this one out because this guy(s) got some strong commerce values in his/her(theirs) head(s). I am already thinking about purchasing more floaters and recyclers and since I almost have none of past event resources - here goes my gems stock:)
Aside from asking about why do we need new event resources and can't continue to use old ones (this was kinda never answered on test forums and valid reasons are still there hanged in the air) - not bad implementation of the summer yard sale. What yah guys think?
What about balloons? I don't even remember what event they were from, but they're in my event resources. Will there be a conversion for them or will they simply disappear? And what about things like candy canes & gingerbread? They still show up as items I can trade in the TO.
I was saying boo, too, about explorers. Would like at least 1. Still not crazy about the pumpkin or soccer ball conversions. But overall, I can't complain since I can get almost everything I want. 4th MMA will be very useful.
Recycling manufactories, MMA, might as well get another vet, floating residences, building licenses, might pick up some other stuff like watermills, deerstalker huts, and storehouses. Overall very nice loot, and this is very close to a best case scenario as far as item limits, much better than I worried might happen.
Threads merged.
So basically for those of us who have no event items to convert, there won't be any kind of event for us to play around with for another 4 months ... :(
Well if you check the prices of the goodies compared to buying it from gems it's pretty much same. Except the old event resources you could get without paying gems so:) I used mine totally but still getting another MA is very tempting. Will sit on it till the yard sale start:)
Yes Koshko if you have no past event resources.. you can still buy tokens on TO (I am sure people will be selling - crazy prices of course but still). And watch the drama over it, (getting popcorn ready) while doing adventures. Or you can buy some gems and get some tokens:) And add more drama to the game by going wild on TO :)
Some keys points that I see need to be addressed:
1.) Midsummernight Special - The mother of events : Tokens : When all is said & done with this so called "Event" which is laughable to begin with, as it is more like an end of summer yard sale. Will the Tokens be usable again (in essence, be player bankable for future things such as this thing taking place starting 06/30/15), or will it also end up as a no wining/dining no lube used, bang fest...
I have to agree with some, on some of the conversions of items collected (that are now non-usable, for the (actual used term of) "Event's" they came from... they suck... no other way around it... especially for newer players, an non-gemming players alike... Not all have access to King Sol's Diamond or Gold Mines... Then there is the main issue, with 'Event's"... you have opportunities for "drop's".... As I see it there are none... so calling this an event, is a major misnomer...
These are all points that I feel should (& need) to be addressed, an NOT glossed over with fancysmancy words, an platitudes... but serious open dialogue... with much deliberated thoughts put into the answers given to them...
Just my .02 cents worth...
MMA,Vet, Recyclers and FLAOTERS!!!! WINNING...now what to do with the rest of my 238,745 tokens....... hmmm....- trading tokens for gems (gifted items) at a better rate than gem shop, when event start pm in game ppl!
Conversion rate: Resource to Token
4 Eggs => 6 Tokens
10 Footballs => 4 Tokens
10 Pumpkins => 6 Tokens
2 Presents => 3 Tokens
Conversion rate: Token to Coins
x.1 - x.4: Rounded down
x.5 - x.9: Rounded up
1 Eggs => 1 Coin
1 Football => 0.5 Coin
1 Pumpkin => 0.4 Coin
1 Present => 1 Coin
1 Token => 0.75 Coin
i have a problem with the conversion rate for the footballs in the provision house football conversion is 5 footballs to 10 coins which is 1 football to 2 coins in the thread you posted the conversion was 1 football to 0.5 coin as posted above which is incorrect obviously and i believe you should adjust the football to token conversion accordingly to about 1 football to 6 tokens.
Thank You Verymuch
they don't give anything new, they same buildings same stuff, but they make old players assets worthless. watermill, silo , deerstalker, ? many of us already have those and we don't have space to put new one. I wont able to get new lucky explorer but value of flower beds I own will go to 60token overnight. we used to sell those for good money. , And now market will be inflated. And soccer statue , rare items, shouldn't they owned by people who play this game from worldcup to eurocup ? so whats next ? giving angelgate for 100 token so if you bought angelgate for 100k coins feel like idiot.
It's a nice idea but I think it would have been even better if there were ways for newer players to at least try to get tokens via adventures or explorers.
I started playing last August and have really enjoyed the excitement of the events. Planning on how to obtain the necessary items to obtain the special items. I got my first MMA during the Easter event and was looking forward to this event so I could get the lucky explorer until I heard there was zero opportunity to earn tokens. I have leftover pumpkins and Christmas presents from last year but after conversion, will only have 260 as I used all the ones I could during the earlier events. I have few gems and not many coins to be able to acquire additional tokens. No opportunity to earn tokens in this event means that this event is a major flop for me. I really wish I could participate in this event, but really do not see the possibility of doing so. There are so many items on my wish list in this event.
BB make sure you allows us to use both the PH and RPH to convert the event resources to tokens .
I think it will be unfair to use only one and to have a high time conversion, because at the end you will gives us few coins and ...
While I understand why they want to remove the ongoing resources from events, it would appear that this event becomes the extreme of the example. While there was concern that the passage of event currency from year to year, in this case the event is completely dependent on the old resources, and newer players are essentially shut out of the event. I understand that BlueByte is a business, and it depends on the sale of gems to maintain the game, the overemphasis on gem buying over event participation seems shortsighted.
There are a limited number of events each year, with typically four major ones - Easter, Summer, Halloween, and Xmas. Three of these (Halloween being the exception) previously used explorers to get event resources or currency. This encourages players to make long-term investment in the game through buying explorers, and encourages game longevity. In the past, events have also been a peak time for players to return to the game, as it is a chance to get items without spending real money, and many of the players stay with the game after. The same would not seem to apply for this event, as real participation is limited to people who held on to old event currency and people who will trade for it. Sadly, this event will likely preclude having another major event before Halloween.
It would likely be better to allow some form of player participation to obtain tokens, either from adventures or explorers (or both), as in previous events. This would make the event more inclusive, especially to newer players. While we should not expect people to be able to get everything through that method, it would encourage full participation, which is ultimately better for the game and more likely to provide increased revenue overall.
I think calling this an event has led to expectations, since events have specific components.
This is strictly a limited offer sale. No one gets upset over limited offer sales, they either buy or don't buy.
I'm very happy to have the opportunity to get what I want using leftover event resources rather than having them arbitrarily exchanged for gold coins, or even just arbitrarily deleted from my storage, either of which are options BB could have implemented.
BB seems to be trying to do a good thing for people who have been playing for a long time. How would I feel if I was new to the game? I don't know. It's unfortunate there's no good way to balance this limited offer sale out for noobies.
But it's not an event, it's a sale, so like all sales, if you have the resources or the cash to spend, it's good, if you don't it's not so good.
why would new players be shut out of the event? tokens will be tradable as well as buyable from gem shop.... in any other (real) event- new players cannot rely on solely quests and colllectibles, lootspots and explorers- especially for newer players to buy everything in the event shop (all the limited items especially) with limited # of explorers they have without books (im guessing).
i did calc for the amount of tokens i will have left after i purchase everything and it came out to 286,345- so i will have a bunch of tokens going into circulation, i am sure i am not the only one either. So will it be more difficult to obtain tokens than previous event items, yes probably, but it is still possible for new players to get what they need/want
If tokens were obtainable as loot, the people with 18 upgraded explorers and tens of thousands of troops would get everything they want and then drop the difference on the trade office at exorbitant prices, while the noobs would still struggle to get 1 or 2 items. The increased supply would help with pricing of tokens in trade, but it would mainly serve to enrich those who already have the resources to obtain as many tokens as they want.
In the context of what it is, a liquidation of defunct resources, rather than an event, the plan as spelled out for the most part seems pretty fair.
Yes. It is not truly an event as we have come to know it in TSO, but a cleansing. lol I kept my collectibles low, using (or trading) them by the end of the events; no reason to hoard them imo.
I do note that the ones in this thread who defend the event are those that are lvl50, either spend or have spent big bucks and/or been the tyrants hoarding. I am glad to see that one less set of tools will be available for those greedy ones. :P I do spend a little depending on what is available or is needed, but I'd rather spend on gems or trade with friends than give the hoarders any of my resources. There are enough noobs to do that for them.
The only time I ever had any excess was Christmas 2014. 10 savage scouts made a huge difference. Now I have more grout than I will ever need. Which I was surprised how hard to come by eggs were at Easter.
I agree it shouldn't be called an Event. Should be called Blowout Sale or something. Or Limited Time Currency Removal Shop.
ouuu 2 lots sold
The purpose of this thread is to provide feedback for the "Midsummer Night Event". Please address your feedback and criticism towards this, rather than towards other players. Thank you.
I think that this event is a waste of BB resources and a bad move. I'd probably be more worked up about this but I'm fairly busy at work and home right now and I just feel some real apathy instead. I won't be harmed by this event except that it's a bridge to nowhere. What a waste of time and effort. Instead of putting in something interesting and/or useful, we get this.
I understand that keeping around old event resources might be a bit of a pain, programming-wise as well as economy-wise. But I dislike that there is a big to-do about the removal of those resources, that the event is exclusionary to players who either are too new to have many of those resources or who actually spent them all during the events they were introduced during (I mostly gave my extras to guildies but have a few piddly amounts here and there), and that this element of the game is going away. While I am not a hoarder of the event resources, I see the appeal for those who are: people buy stuff and hold it for a whole year sometimes. This means you have either: a player who's still playing for another year, or if that player quits- the old resource removed from gameplay. So, quick, get busy and remove an element that promotes player longevity. Brilliant.
This really seems like an event to appease whiners who complain that hoarding is somehow cheating. As if the hoarding players didn't buy those resources from other players at market prices.
Overall, I'm enjoying many of the recent changes such as entering troop numbers instead of sliders and I enjoy the game. I want to be clear that I'm speaking about this event in specific and not the game in general - I'm not quitting in a huff because I think the event is stupid and I don't want to just sound like a Negative Nancy here, but I'm calling this the way I see it.
i am looking forward for this event, lots of limited gem items to be had, the floating rezzes alone make the event imo- and those are very cheap to get (<--- new players)
I'm glad it will help older players (especially those who mentor us newer players) to unload otherwise useless prior-event geegaws, and to get their umpteenth super trooper general if that's their desire. But how will we new players get these gems to buy floating rezes (or other items) even at cheap prices? We have no tokens, no prior event items, and since we are new, we have precious little of value we can trade. All we have now are very good guild-mates willing to practically give us things so we can level up, and the occasional TO flash sale. We can't do the high exp/loot haul adventures and expedition troops are far too costly for newbies to try to keep up with, so we aren't going to have much of value from that quarter. We rarely get adventure invitations outside of our own guild because we cannot yet afford the super-trooper generals that most older players require in order to join their adv. Tokens won't be available for discovery or in collectible drops, so our only sources will be the rare drop from lower level adv loot (never yet got a token from one), or older players leftovers at likely high TO prices (which again we won't have the goods needed to buy them), or sink lots of real cash (which a lot of us just can't afford to do).
So I have to agree with others, this is not an event, it's a swap-meet for older players and players with deep pockets. I hope there will be a true event later this summer for all players. And that it will have some new and exciting things available for older players as well. Almost all of it is new and exciting to us newer players, but I am sure if I'd been playing for 2 years or more I'd appreciate a new castle, building, or craft/production chain.
