I am guessing the popularity of pvp is simply going to fill up the BB coffers with flooding gem purchases. O wait, was that sarcasm? *blushes :)

PvP can be used to describe aspects of the game where players compete again each other. The fact that players are anonymous is a design choice that we made.
About your second question, you can find the answer in a previous changelog:
- When searching for an Expedition, friend's and Guild friend's islands won't be included in the search result any more

Just that there is no competition between any player. Player A takes the colony off a PvE based enviroment, as, eh, reward for winning, one gets to place additional defenses (and quite a few of those predefined places need some help... there is no way one ever even passes close by).Quote:

Player B now randomly chances to fight the colony of Player A, which is the exact same PvE based enviroment with a few more PvE baddies than before, nothing in this scenario is anything remotely closer to the concept of PvP than before.
PvE remains PvE, regardless of what you lable or dress it up as.
Being anonymous is fine as that doesn't interfere with PvP, then again you'd like to know which *** you kicked and who handed it to you :p
Monopoly is more PvP than the current "PvP" we got here...
