New epic advies! Yey for something new and not for "pvp" :) Are there any new resources in loot (like FT has beans)?
That sounds good. A 10+ difficulty! Should keep the adventure seekers busy.
o.0 Will there be the treasure cave filled with goodies? And the Gene in a battle to fulfill our 3 wishes? :)
Oh boy, just when I was planning to quit...I guess now I have to come back and check it out o.O
Good direction with the new content. Looking forward to it.
Hopefully its some cool rewards
The 10+ difficulty should prove interesting!!
I really hope they will be challenging enough to keep us busy for months/years; also BB should use it as an opportunity to address some current issues:
a) beans/beanstalks - hopefully they will be needed to run (or buy) these new raids. This way there will be a need to continue to run the FTs.
b) Reward should include at least 1 new resource and maybe a chance for new epic buildings. Please NO MORE statues with a 10-15% change in the loot!!!
Why do I think we need a new resource ? Cause' otherwise will have the usual - cost vs reward debate, which one is higher, and either way I think it is bad. If reward is less (think PvP) the appealing of running the new raids will be rock bottom. If rewards is higher than cost, then we will just get more of the current resources, and at this moment for many players, getting more resources (think RB LS) it is pointless. Hoarding addiction must stop :)
(mental) health care cost going through the roof ^^
It sounds awesome, as long as the advs will not be super hard to find...
Specially if one is NOT the follow on of the other.. (Which always means, given the typically low drop rate), that some advs don't get played as much (or at all).
So while two are being added.. I hope we don't end up playing mostly only one.
Overall looking forward to it.. and already dreaming of BB expanding the series with even more advs :D
PS - Please do have some achievements associated with it.. (Unlike FTs), and have them given Star Coins for L50 (unlike FTs).
So will these be 'epic' as in it will count for Epic Quests, of will this be another beyond epic like the FTs?
Also if the rewards will have magic beans (not sure if it would fit the theme or not), can we get a couple more things to spend the beans and beanstalks on?
I think I still have sand in my shoes from last summer.
I hope we see my idea of a bandit that attacks strongest units first... force the use of soldiers to protect cannons... but I digress as usual.
I hope the Epic building is a Sand Castle that holds 50 pop per 1x1 square used at max level and is upgradeable by a series of quests rivaling the crisis quests in their horrible glory. Once you max it out a second one is available... with another, equally unusual quest series.
Or... a 2x2 improved storage building that improves the production of the 8 2x2 buildings around it... we have area affect from other things now...
I'm just saying, give us awful challenges, many of us will do them anyway. If I want easy, I'll run Outlaws with 4 MMA's.
lol.. I'm in!! I loved all the actual hard stuff in the game... well.. except PvP.. but that's cause it's not really... well that's a different subject I don't need to get into.. :PQuote:

Anyways I hope this thing is so epic that my 10k pop. will need another 10k pop. player to help me finish it..
*remembers the good ole days when my guildes had to help each other out to complete quests..* they were the best of times, and they were the worst of times.. lol.. either way I still miss em' :)
Short story... I like it and I hope Fuscus gets his wish on this being something that can last us a year.. or two.. shoot for the moon peoples.. we needs it!!! :P
First thing is first. You probably want to up the time to complete the adventure to more than 36 hours as it will take longer than that just to train an army on the test server to be able to run the adventure.
Also the minute I went to the adventure I had already completed a quest. There seems to be a lot of that pesky "undefined text".
why would it drop grout?... lol... the server is already filled with the stuff
and then there's the beans?...
it's all good as long as we have something else to spend them on.... I hope :|
Beans seem a bit useless considering most people have completed FTA and got their castles, general, etc.
What is there to really buy beans with besides resell them. The magnificent building is kind of ehh. Why get that when you sell your beans and save up for frozen manor.
Magic Castle kind of is a decoration at this point. Nothing to buy beanstalks with.

Stone Refill!
I think that's all I had to see to make endless fun of it, the 10k *** ore instantly became uninteresting.
In between the line reading: Stone Refills... R U EVEN SERIOUS?!
and what is that follow up adventure... (and i agree -- STONE REFILLS and TWO of em??? crazy...)
Have been on the test server, but will post here since I know it will be read and passed on. After starting Ali Baba and checking the camps, then seeing the loot screenshots posted on both forums my initial reaction is:
1> Why does every single enemy have splash damage?
2> Why is the completion time 36 hours?
3> Where is salt peter in this series? So far slots 3 & 4 are titanium and exotic wood every time.
4> The stone and marble refills (and who knows what else... fish? wheat?) have got to go. See # 3. Will the devs ever realize that wheat depos, etc, as a reward for losing thousands of troops is downright insulting?
5> If we're going to get a bazillion more beans, what's new in the merchant to buy with them? So far, nothing.
5> Getting grout in an adventure is good. Considering the difficulty, getting at least enough in one drop to upgrade one building would be much better.
6> Getting new adventures is great. Getting new adventures with new/different rewards would be outstanding.
I actually hope those adventures will be super hard as are now on test server.
I do not mind them being hard; I do not even mind if losses/resources required is expensive. In fact, I would prefer hard adventures. (How about adventures where camps move; leaders troop assignments change? Force players to do some homework.)
What I would want and expect is that in more cases than not, the rewards justify the actions. e.g. Even on the best day (week actually, if you can hold one), a tore colony provides some profit; no other colony comes close; expeditions are truly a sink, only reason there is any interest there now is folks with literally nothing else to do in TSO and/or folks with tremendous resources.
I invite all to check out the test forums. They are becoming fun to read again:
"It's deja vu all over again! Didn't we already go through all of this with the combat balancing fiasco?? Is there a whole new crew of devs who weren't around for that one? I really don't get doing this all over again.
I mapped out the island to sim it and after a few camps decided I'd rather go outside and scrape the paint off the side of my house than run this adventure. There's no amount of loot that will make the tedium of endless multi-wave attacks worthwhile, nor compensate for the massive loss of soldiers and elites, especially the huge block of time required to remake them all. I play games for fun and relaxation, not self abuse."
Thanks for the laughter Perwyn:)
While there is room for changes/improvements, I personally think that even in their current state, they are better than PvP or last Scenario (Storm Scenario).
The biggest change/requirement is to get a new resource in the loot - but this would make sense only if they already have a use for it (the new buildings presented few weeks ago ?). We cant do much, just to wait and see...
You're welcome Plumz. Now don't forget to send me my royalties check!
Would it really be so hard for BB to come up with something that is not just the same thing over and over and over and over again, except with more attack waves used and more high end troops lost?
I don't mind losing soldiers, never have. Most people that use my personal guides end up resimming parts of them to do multi waves of recruits rather than lose soldiers on a single attack. I prefer to have lower losses overall and lose a few more soldiers and militia than the average player around here. And I absolutely hate waiting for generals to recover, so making every camp a multi wave attack in Ali Baba is a huge turnoff for me. As well as making every single enemy have splash damage. It really is the combat rebalancing all over again with different graphics. Our troops still are too weak, the enemy troops are way too strong, the rewards are laughable for what it takes to get them.
That's only my opinion, everybody else can love these adventures if they like. Just like everybody hates PvP while I think it's kinda fun. Makes life interesting when we're different.
Well, that 10k titanium in loot is a pretty good idea. Unfortunately, it takes about 15k titanium to make all the ES you are going to waste to clear the adventure... BB logic I guess.
I also had fun reading about BB dev assuring testers that the loot spot are just placeholders. It was fun to read players posting how they don't trust BB in that statement :) That BB posted 4 times the same thing and players got even more upset:P
This is the result of BSing to your player base over and over again. Even if this time the test loot is a "placeholder" nobody is trusting you BB anymore. Because you fooled testers few times already and now you reap the results of your own crap> Having fun are we? I certainly had reading that post :)
You are also supposed to use your head and not just keep throwing 200R at Wild Mary and her 199C, there are certain ways that work and that won't work.Quote:
I tried doing one of these adventures, right away I lost both 250 Generals, they had 250 Elite and 250 Xbows, they were all killed and didn't kill a single eemy, not going to do that again.
Not to say they are easy by any means, but the difficulty is something that has been sought after for a while already, albeit some changes are still needed.
And now since we know more about BB plans it seems the main incentive to do Ali Baba adventures will be... XP grind to level 75. Here is a bit of clouds on the horizon. On test right now people are using arrows/assasin buffs to make the adventure loses "reasonable". Once star coins are suspended (because level caps are raised) that will not be an option. I urge all testers to test the advie and give feedback WITHOUT using weapons, because those who are under lev 50 before level cap is raised WILL NOT have any star coins.
Personally I don't like HUGE maps, taking days to complete and wasting 80% of my population to finish ONE adventure. I would rather prefer doing smaller adventures with less xp (can be even hard to lose expensive troops-but just less of them).
The main reason is my lifestyle/work not allowing me to sit for hours at the time clearing 60 camps on a map. I know devs this is your job and you have all that time to figure that at work. My job is different. And every time you go away from keyboard and come back few hrs later you have to re-focus yourself on what camp is next, check your spreadsheets/combat sim for troop compositions and such...Meh. Already dread the 25 levels grind. I hope we can still get xp from smaller size maps and not being forced to get stuck in sand of endless days of doing the same adventure over and over... I still h8 SA after grinding it for xp for 6 levels...
these huge maps are not for non level 50, or above since the level cap will change to 75 soon. also the titanium ore is going to be needed. I have started trying them on test server and yes the are going to be hard to do untill we figure out best attacks same as all other big adventures
