1 in the morning, 1 in the evening the following day if you can manage a morning login, so works out pretty well. With enough books, you can do 1 prolonged search in the evening and then a very long search late the next night (that lasts until the following evening), completing the two in just under 48 hours, assuming the bonus for long searches continues to apply to prolonged searches.
OK. Thanks!
Dear Settlers,
Feel free to leave feedback about the first part of the XXL Level Cap Raise Dev's Diary in this thread.

hello,
*New exploration task to explore the archipelago
*New treasure search task with new resources
*New adventure search task with new adventures
*New deposit search task for each of the new deposits (Granite, Titanium, Saltpeter)
regarding those above, what will happen to my geologists and explorers fully booked in science system? I already planned and booked geologists and explorers within the old system and now new tasks going to be introduced, what will you do about this to make it a fair game for everybody?
it is all looking good, might have given us a little bigger, cleared island to move buildings to, keep that thought in mind for future developments.
The 2d effect on the Sinbad adv, is going to take time to get use to.
I don't know why so much complaining about being harder, if you had made it a walk threw there would have been complaints. Just have to buckle down and WORK people, to reach that 75. Why hurry anyway,
BBs you are trying really hard, thank you.
We really do need some new decorations for the Hollidays, and every day.
I saved most of my star coins while others spent theirs. In hopes that 1 day when the higher levels came they would count towards something. It would be nice if they changed the Epic market to be able to buy different buffs maybe allow us to convert star coins to gc in provision house.
Like most of the changes/additions. I don't mind hard adventures, quite the contrary. I am bored stiff with the easy walkthroughs.
Can't wait to be challenged again.
I like the changes, and I like the level cap. I would love to see instant travel to the adventures now. There really is no reason once this goes live to force a travel time for gens to adv. It would be nice for those of us with an hour to play, to actually spend that hour playing instead of waiting on gens to travel back and forth.
Star Coins
I would say this is true for almost all Lvl50's.
This is good to hear, although I am looking forward to hearing some more details on this. Some "possible sources" are listed in the Dev Diary, but it's a bit vague.Quote:

Some have suggested simply giving players a choice when an adventure is done (do you want XPs or Star Coins); I like that in theory, although I understand that the new adventures and such will give large amounts of XPs, so it couldn't necessarily be the same conversion rate to Star Coins for higher level adventures. It would, however, allow the player to decide if the work they are doing is geared towards longer-term rewards (XPs) or shorter-term (star coins for Epic items). Perhaps expanding the Epic items available to be purchased with star coins (new nukes for higher-level adv's?) would add to that dynamic, as well.
Okay, I like most of what I see here in the design intentions. I have one issue (worth addressing at this point); and it has to do with the issue of Star Coins.
- Having very high EXP adventures/quests can cause problems with flooding Star Coins in the market.
- Star Coins CANNOT be traded among players. As such, greatly diminishes the threat of 'Flooding the Market'.
- Players currently can Gift Epic items (including Star Coin items) to other players, regardless of the recipient player's level (Even though they might not be able to use said items).
- Some players will be slow to move from playing current adventures to the new Ali-Baba adventures.
Some ideas that would address the concerns of keeping the current system of Star Coins the same (100:1; EXP:SC) are as follows:
- Create items and buffs that are only for use in Ali-Baba/new scenarios. Price these accordingly (current ROA is 120 SC; make the Ali-Baba equivalent of ROA 1200 or even more per buff); do the same with the catapults and Assassin.
- Allow the new (and much more expensive) buffs to be used on regular adventures. Prevent the usage of the current buffs from working on the new content.
- Continue to prevent trading of Star Coins. Keep it so the only player who 'earns' them can use them.
- Continue to permit Gifting of Epic (Star Coin) Items, but restrict who can receive them, based upon their level. e.g. Cannot gift 'Rain of Arrows' to a player who is Level 49, etc.
The above suggestions would be relatively simple to implement, keep the existing system going without causing major problems and would not effect the distribution/use of Star Coins. Players who run only the old adventures would still be able to use their Star Coins for items they can use, and those who run the new content would receive much more in Star Coins, but would have to spend a commensurate amount of Star Coins to use on the new adventures/scenarios. It would be foolish to run Ali-Baba's, collect tons of coins, and spend them on old adventure items, but if players wanted to, they could. Basically, once players are committed to running the new content, they will have little need for the old ones in any case; though there will be exceptions. The above suggestions should allow all types of players to continue without favor to any one type.
Please offer comments and suggestions. :general:
Every player starts with the same amount of Experience Points
Just to clarify...do you mean to say "the same amount each player currently has," or are you saying that the playing field will be completely leveled, with ALL players starting with the same amount of xp? Don't mean to be nit-picky, but only trying to be sure I'm reading this correctly.
Interesting post, Raubhautz!
Thank you for sharing it.
As we have said in the Dev's Diary, we are still working on the implementation of Star Coins and their balance in the game.
Also, thank you everyone for your feedback, I will make sure to forward it.

I believe that statement was for all the level 50's out there, which would all start with 3,746,000 EXP that we currently are sitting on. Players with less EXP would maintain the EXP that they have earned to date. They probably worded the sentence that way to clarify that players who have been lvl50 for 2 weeks and those who have been lvl50 for 2 years will start at the same EXP, and there will be no 'retroactive' EXP for adventures/quests done since lvl50.
hello, thanks for quick reply, but still some concerns about skill tree...
for geologists below skill should be kept limited to old ores and searches
Nature’s Gift (from 50 level), Natural Born Digger (from 50 level)
for explorers below skills should be kept limited to old adventures and treasure searches
Fearless Hiker, Mountain Boots, Sturdy Shovel, Trouble-seeker, Pathfinder
to be fair please take them into consideration, thanks.
since the new lvl 71 manor is tradable is it going to be a just a noble? as expensive as it is and the lvl needed to unlock it in the build menu imo it needs to be a bit more epic as just 100 pop @ lvl6. even though I am not in need of BL, I wouldn't waste one on it. this building def!!! needs tweeking
My takeaway is: Stockpile your books to specialize and fine-tune your explorers when update goes live and geologists and stockpile star coins and/or nukes.
I don't have a pile of star coins, but I have started only spending them on ROA and Assassins for now, don't need one day prem or gems as much as I need the enjoyable game play options of not sending 12 waves of R at some of the new bandits.
As SC are in place of Exp, we're technically not losing anything by getting Exp in place of SC - so I don't see a huge need to keep SC flowing at today's rate. My thought would be to reduce SC to 1/4 of what you get now and continue to award them to level 50+ every adventure. Make Ali Baba's rate 1/10 of today's rate, so I guess an Ali Baba with 10x XP compared to a current advent would yield only 4x the star coins.
Then you can keep the SC items available today and maybe add a couple new ones at higher cost and longer cool down... no idea what those are, Raub was more on top of that.
Taken from the Dev Diary : "From now on each week a part of the XXL pack will be introduced."
Does this mean the new features are going to be implemented in stages each week? Or does it mean we'll get a dev dairy each week detailing some aspect of the expansion pack?
I'm pretty darn excited about the new content and can't wait to get started!!!
If BB waits until late Sept/early Oct to update, any Halloween event will prob be low priority.
With it launching when it's planned to, will we be having a Halloween event this year?
Oh another question: Will there be new login rewards at higher levels?
Wow!!!
I love the upgrades and the added space.. like others i wish there was more since i need to add a new army.
My biggest concern like others have said is star coins, but my second is books already applied.
Star coins... I like that with star coins I can get gems and premium time. I try to get them both each week after the cool down. I do play the test server and I saw that many more gems are needed to get the things for moving to the new islands. So, will we get gems in the quests after level 50 or do we only get them as we do now by weekly login and star coins (or purchase)?
Then there are the books we have invested. We spend enormous time and resources making books. They can not be traded or bought with gems.
I have never seen the "Nature's Gift" work once and others in the forum have said it does not work, so I was very disappointed I had picked that after seeing it not work. I wish I could have refunded 1 level only just to fix that issue.
Given that and that new stuff to find is being introduced, I recommend that you give a period where all the books can be refunded for free not just half and let us reset them under the new system. It could be later after the new year when we have all settled in.
Overall I think it is grand that the game is being refreshed. I had noticed a lot of players leaving and I hope this gives them something to stay for. Do, send out an email to woo those players back.
Keep up the good work it is not easy being a game designer with all us demanding players, lol!
it all sounds good to me so far from what ur doing but it would be nice to know more about how the silver coins will be able to be spent and claimed
Looking forward to a lot more "Undefined Text"...
BB_Endesmor, why only lvl 75, not lvl 100?? I understand that there will be tons of xp points to level up but, eventually, mostly everyone will reach 75.
Are there any plans to modify the explorer and geologist skill trees to include these new search options?
who cares about halloween when youve all this shiny stuff ;)
for people wondering about almost everything, the wiki has alot of answer
http://www.settlersonlinewiki.eu/en/
Right now the explorer skill tree contains three skills that would benefit the new prolonged treasure searches. So far on test there is no effect when these skills are applied, but that's probably a bug in the search itself, not the skill tree.
Mountain Boots - shorten all treasure searches by 3-6-9%
Sturdy Shovel - find 3-6-9% more loot on all searches
Pathfinder - shorten all searches by 5-10-15%
Edit: Correction to above: Mountain Boots and Sturdy Shovel have no effect. Pathfinder does shorten the prolonged search. /:end Edit
Rather than require a refund and complete redistribution, the skill tree could be expanded by adding a row near the top and a few additional prolonged search specific skills for tomes or codex. Same sort of "fix" could apply to geologists (They might need 2 rows). Don't know what's going to happen for real, but that's how I'd do it if I was going to code it. It is, after all, an expansion, right?
Please consider introducing a recycler to help clear out people's stars prior to the implementation of the new changes. lots of people could use the space and better buffs/resources than 300 horseman statues they cant give away and just delete - just a thought
If the new mounted units aren't available until LvL 55, there's no reason to start hoarding horses, is there? Unless of course you are an extreme hoarder:) I did upgrade the stable, though.
