Run all of your copies of Nords and Surprise Attack now lest you regret putting it off until later.

Glad they are working on the "important" stuff. At some point can I land more than half my gens on VLT or any other Fairy Tale adv?
I've never played Secluded Experiments in my life. Look like I won't ever do it either. I guess I won't ever finish that "Greatest Explorer" quest ...
So Nords and Surprise Attack will be completely worthless now too. Since I can barely bring myself to play adventures now, guess I can sell them for whatever I can get.
Nice of them to take away 2 of the 3 remaining adventures people don't hate running. LOL
The operative section of the update is: Adventure: The bosses in the "Northern" adventures do not have an aggression zone anymore
Running through the adventures, the total impact on Surprise Attack will be nothing using the Killste guide. All the leader camps are already outside the range of the supporting camps.
The impact on The Nords will cause some intercepts on some of the leader camps. The first zone is clear. The second zone will have an intercept from the closest camp; fortunately, the camp can be killed with an MMA for no losses. The third zone leader has an intercept as well, which camp can also be cleared with no losses. The forth zone leader uses a block on the Killste guide, and would be unchanged by the zone shifts. The final boss would now be intercepted by more than one of the surrounding camps. Two of the 3 camps can be cleared without losses again. The third camp can be cleared with losses of 58 R or 25M; of course, once the other two camps are cleared, it is a simple single block solution. In total, beside slowing down the adventure, there is a minimal increase in cost.
The troubling part is that there really is no loss from this for advanced players. It will have a larger impact on lower levels, which seems to be a developing trend where changes are made that disproportionately impact lower players because of the relative ease for more advanced players. This may represent an intrinsic problem with the game where there is a failure to adequately scale the difficulty with player advancement. The other question is the timing of these changes, following the publishing of quick versions of The Nords adventure. It would be shame if player communication and sharing of information is being use to direct development, while player feedback appears of secondary importance.
At least they will be changing the loot for SE to reflect on other epic adventures and bring it more in line...............oh wait.
Yeah, funny thing how somebody published an "auto pilot" guide for Island of the Pirates and it eventually disappeared from the shop. Or.... somebody published a guide for using weak point potions to farm witch towers from DB, those went away and now we've got assassins instead.
At least nobody can claim the developers aren't reading the forums.
Great, I'm not the only one feeling like this is a thing that is happening.Quote:

On the contrary you can also tell just how long they have been working on Ali Baba, one of the earlier questlines rewarded Ranged Support instead of Arrows lolQuote:

...and of course nobody to double check the data, obviously.
I'd really love for the dev team or somebody to gang up on the person that is doing all these, eh, fantastic changes and have said person be thrown in the forum for 24h and the key thrown away so it can't escape...and please let it be the same person that is responsibile for the loot revamp as well.
The writing between the lines...
If you find some strategy that makes life much easier for you, don't share it on the forums. Bottom-line, they'll take it away.
TBH, guide makers should stop sharing publicly. If 99% of the people can't block on 1001 adventures, they will have to nerf the adventure to an acceptable level (cause the current barracks train compared to losses is NOT acceptable). But with current blocks, it is almost tolerable thanks to guide makers.
Use the forums to complain and nothing more.
While we are giving warnings...
There was a bug with the Easter event on the test server that if you use the buff option to remove the Party Crasher camp it locks up the quest forever. Although my command of French it terrible, it is nice to know that bug went live and we will probably have to enjoy it next week. Keep that in mind when you look at the achievements to level up the spacious warehouse.
I have a feeling this will be another one of those you will get credit for the achievement after the event things.
Yes, pretty much hit the nail on the head. These changes will not effect advanced players, many who will never run Nord's based adventures (Nord's, IotN (unless you have lots of cash to spend trying to get the FM), SA, Bastille Island and Arctic Explosion) anyways, and if they do, they can counter changes as you have described.
Clearly, there is no regard for lower levels. With the current strategies I see, many players who stick with the game through level 26, will find the going too tough to stick with and will wander to other games.
Like there's nothing else of importance to work on
From the upcoming change log. "Adventure: Camps with 0 units are now defeated"
I have a nagging suspicion this is going to affect blocks. Guess we will see.
Nah, they would not do anything like that.
It seems to me that there has been a marked decrease in the amount of and number of participants in these Forum discussions... Is it that people just don't care, feel that their input is ignored, have observed that information sharing is being utilized for nefarious purposes by BB, all of the above; or perhaps something else?
At any rate I personally feel that it's a shame when anyone in our community feels like they cannot have open discussions for fear of censorship (including self-censorship), or misappropriation of their information and ideas. Such an environment is liable to "kill the goose that lays the golden eggs!"
And I, for one, am growing increasing unhappy with: the way things seem to be turning out for all of the above posts and excellent reasons given; with the impacts on lower level players; with an arcane support system that automatically assumes problems are fixed; with the lack of direct in-game two-way support communications; and with the lack of proper testing of Game Updates that introduce even more bugs for all of us to suffer with!
If BB continues to discourage new players; continues to increase the burden on a player's ability to level; and spoils the chances of actually having fun playing this game including all of the content like adventures, expeditions, scenarios, etc. -- the end result will be an inescapable and foregone conclusion towards a self-fulfilling prophesy of deliberate sabotage...
P.S. Whoever designed Treasure of Knowledge (ToK) adventure should be locked in a room and forced to complete 1,000 of them before letting them out or anywhere near the design platform again! Please do not spoil enjoyable aspects of game content in a similar fashion (there is a real difference between challenging and suffering through) with the next Game Updates...
Your reasons for the decline in forum use are no doubt correct. Let me add one that I think is the major reason for the decline. Reduced number of players. I think there has been a substantial reduction of players over the last 2 years.
SweaterPuppies I think your link is pointed to the wrong Change Log... Try this: [ http://forum.thesettlersonline.net/t...gelog-04-12-16 ]
I don't know about that. Next Dev Blog coming in the with the next week or two:
Details about blocking grid changes
Blocking before and after recent map changes
They've always openly hated blocking. Maybe they finally found a way to stop us from doing it. Then again, stopping the blocking will kill the game almost immediately. I barely play adventures as it is. (I primarily do expeditions in an attempt to get to lvl 30 at some point now; Adventures are largely tedious to me now.) They get rid of blocking for adventures, and I (and many others) won't play any map at all. None are even remotely worth killing every camp.
Yeah, pretty sure the blocking being referred to in the upcoming dev log is the island grid and/or building "blocks", not blocking as we know it in adventures. Every communication coming down to us from BB should start with.... "my English, she no so good, but leesen anyways".
This is what Blue Byte means by blocks in this case...
This is the point I was trying to make with blocking is this... the tear down phase with the counter bar is critical to blocking from how I understand it, which is not much. I assume the 0 troop camps disappearing means they will be toying with the fact that camps themselves have hit points, or at least the coding. Let us go to recent history. The introduced the zone wide buff thing, the fairy fly and whatever the other one is are now buggy. They played with the default adventure zoom and it does not behave like they say it does. They moved an iron mine location on the archipelago multiple types of deposits went crazy. Going further back, they played with where generals land and that got buggy causing jumping generals and troops changing during attacks. They introduced the MoD giving generals hit points and a year later we still are plagued with false dead generals returning from attacks. In the end I shall be a grumpy pessimist and assume that them messing with how camps work will cause some problem with blocks. So next week if blocks that have been reliable for years start failing for us, I would not be surprised. If not, hooray!
