Mahogany sawmill, what's the point?

I bought one as the quest intended, but that's the use now. I can saw my logs but to what end?

Any information would be very greatly appreciated.

Same as the exotic sawmill I suppose. For making certain buildings and some of the upgrades. Also for the Panda mini quest. That is all I can think of.

Well, as Sweater said, it'll be used for upgrades mostly, the Panda quest and to get your carriages for Mortars....overall the need of them isn't hardcore like granite....

The Exotic cutter questline was that much more pointless to me! Not to mention you get another quest for those stupid things at like 58 or something, totally out of the blue. That was pointless.

New Building??

New buildings require planks for upgrades. However, it only takes a couple of people to provide planks for a small guild.
