'shiver me timbers'
Beautiful ship.
I Love the idea.
I will be dead before I ever get to level 70.
Boo on dropping colonies entirely from the ship. I am sure you left in the complete MSE/IOTN/BC and the other quests that are utterly insane. I would rather run 3 expeditions than have any level 1, let alone 5 {I think it was} level 6 coal mines.
I like the idea, but I fear you haven't listened to the feedback on the Test Server.
1) Forcing PvP to finish these quests is a bad idea.
2) Forcing people to do bad adventures like SE is a bad idea.
3) Level 70!? Still way to long, will be a year or more for me and Im at 63!! Lower it something achievable for more than the top 10 players, yes I said TEN not percent, on a server.
Having a ship, cool. Now if it did something awesome like find Frozen Manors once a week, well then Id stomach through it. But I guess I'm complaining about something 99% of the folks will not see for another 3 years /shrug
Nice addition to the game, however many people will never be level 70 as it requires 345.130.000 experience to get there. The highest level person on our server right now is level 67 (thats 175.110.000 experience) so really hes only half way there. Why not pick a lower level for this like 62-65. This way people can use it right away and is much more attainable to the masses.
It is a beautiful piece of art, amazingly detailed and vibrant. You have some very talented artist working for you.
And I would love to have this on my island, but sadly I dont think I'll be playing this game the years it will take to get to level 70 :(
Love the idea, however the level is way too high. I am almost completely burned out by the drive to 62, which puts me about 14% of the way to 70, sigh. This should really be implemented at level 55-60, and ramp up the rewards for every level from there.
have to agree that the level requirement is very high, seems like a lot of wasted effort for a couple people to enjoy releasing this early... heck i think i have 4 people in the low 60's on ares on my friend list.. highest is around 67, most still being 48-58.
casually playing I'm still not even 52 yet, sure i could grind out to 60 in 3-6 months off non premium (grind is an understatement), but i cant even fathom lvl 70 even with a permanent premium time.. i'm having a hard enough time just getting FT beans/followups for island expansions and ali baba's for future use running these every 2 days now ToT
Read the Dev Diary... also they are not forcing anyone to do anything. Blue Byte does not come to your home and poison your goldfish if you do not do one of the Pathfinder tasks.
Anywho, since it appears they have redone some of the quests. I will keep an album here as any Wiki site is most likely out of date.
Seeing the task screen shot showing "complete the adventure Secluded Experiments" I just gotta laugh. Must be why I've started getting so many on the VL Adventure search, huh?
I agree level 70 is too high. It's like, here is this great new fun interactive reward system, too bad most of you won't get it until after you no longer have any need for it from a resource perspective. By level 70 we will have much less use for the rewards.
First thought: oh, this isn't a ship where my generals can hang out instead of wandering all over my island?
I guess this gives some point to get to level 70, but I'm still planning to stop at 62.
Since there will only be one week allowed to do these quests I certainly hope you make sure that completing the required quests actually lets you complete the quest. I think there has been one, maybe two, "The Good Captain" quests that have worked correctly so far and support has been very slow in fixing the problem and very fast in having the player check every working mode in their computer first along with usually more than one screenshot to prove the work is done. And never have the problems been corrected in less than a week.
This ship . . . is it just a deco?
Look, Evil_J is gonna get there first, so his quests won't complete lol. By the time I get there a few months at least after him.... circa 2017.... they should have it fixed. My last good captain for level 65 completed with no issues :) after his didn't lol...
Thougts on level:
1) Move this down to 68. Evil will get there in less than a year, almost certainly, so that seems realistic - if it takes the fastest player a year on premium from 50-68, anything higher is not very attainable for even your level 50+ players.
2) Another set of adventures, with shorter walks and elite bandits, available about level 63. Why 63? Current adventures and troops are all available at 57 with Besiegers, and there are granite, titanium, salt mines to strive for up to 62, so there is a massive gap in new content from 62 up to 75. Fill it with some shorter, high-xp adventures. Think IotP (short one directional maps, no long walks from one sector to next). I find my biggest issue with some fun adventures like 3rd Thief is the walk after taking down a leader to position myself for the next section. I know, if camps are too close together we'll block them all...
Anyway, that's enough typing for me, I need to go grind some XP so I can get to this content before my AARP card shows up in about 10-15 years.
I like the idea, and understand why you put it at level 70, but it will not be appealing for people since it will take a long, long time to get to 70. Most people will stop playing before they get to 70 so not much use for the majority of the players. The appropriate level should start from 54 or 55, and increase the reward when they level up.
I think level 70 is too high as well. I am at level 57 and just getting to the 60's is hard enough. I do play daily but just can't sit at the computer that long.
I didn't run any adventure since April 9th, I feel tired..and not care much about it. But let's assume I will start caring again and make a valiant effort to reach 70 (I am @ 64 now) then if i do that, I won't waste my time for silly quests (Pathfinder quests) that will slow me down levelling up. For what ? more beans and granite ? Put some pandas as reward and I might reconsider.
Wow, nice ship! Weekly bonuses are also great. I want the ship and I want the weekly bonus!
With the way I play, I project reaching level 70 when I retire. If it's still available, my Social Security benefits should kick in at that time. No way will I be able to afford gems. However, if I get the ship now or in the near future, it will make me happy. I will likely buy gems while I can still afford it. You will get my money now, or you get nothing. It's as simple as that.
great idea been asking for ships for 5 years.
I have to agree with the others lower the level to some thing people might reach sooner rather the later, or not at all.
The ship looks cool in the pictures :)
Good idea. The water needed more buildings.
Great looking ship. Great idea also. Since I am retired I will be long gone before I reach lvl 70. To bad.
I just hope the tasks aren't glitched like they originally were on Test. I haven't been on Test for a few weeks due to the Easter event and real life to know if the pathfinder quests are still messed up.
Also, for those who haven't been on Test, I found that putting your ship near s1 was the best for me, since you're going to be accessing this ship a lot once you get it.
Stuff for higher lvls only all of the time...what about everyone else?
If it requires PVP crap in anyway i'm not interested
and level 70? agree - i may not be living ...
thanks bb
No, Expedition 'stuff' has been removed from Pathfinder! :D tyvm! Love it.
Although I hear the requests to lower the level, I also kind of like the idea of keeping some things 'up there' in order to provide incentive or motivation to push onward, rather than becoming stagnate or atrophy...
I still think that it would be nice if some of this dev time would be spent in updating the various science skills that have not been updated since the science system was released to reflect the current release... (See Sophisticated Pillager as example - way too many adventures that are found have NO bonus quests available to find).
Idea is great. Level 70 not so much. I will never reach it. It took me forever just to get to l50. Unless you figure out how we can learn more xp other ways than doing adventures. I like the game and people here, but I hate adventures, especially wasting time waiting for gens to walk to targets sooooo faaaaar away and then walk back.
i don't think people fully rationalize how much experience is required to get 70 in the first place. 50-60 is like 30m, 60-70 is 300m.
even if you had PERMA premium time, and you ran a VLT and a ali baba every single DAY (78+39k, 140k+70k = 327k xp) your still looking at 3 years +/- freebie experience from follow ups... if you run an adventure from time to time like most.. this will never be obtainable ;)
60 is by far achieveable for most, 65 is setting the bar up there for a challenge, 70 is just overkill and a tease at this time.
while the rewards seem up there for the ship's quests, i think having to run the 2000-8,000 adventures to get there just kind of defeats any rewards it can offer... you would long since have everything at 6, and plenty of grout and granite overflowing through your warehouses before 70... no star coins but ehh..
