So the guild quest is now going to reset at a time just after most people go to work and the "produce XXX" quests are a bit of an extra *** you?
Cool.
Have to wonder what the problem with having the reset during the night, while most players are offline. This should (and used to be) done during the local server's time zone. Setting all server resets to GMT seems to put all but 2-3 time zones at a disadvantage to complete some of these guild quests.

ok wait.......... some guild quests have been "improved" so that they can be more easily completed within 24 hours. The start/stop time has been moved so that any improvements to make them more easily completed within 24 hours have been effectively nullified. Hmmm...... I gotta think about this........
I think the new guild quest reset time is a negative for most folks, on the North American server, anyway. Especially for production-type quests; one either has to be online pretty early to get them started, because if you don't start them until later (like, say, after work), you probably won't be online at 5am or whatever to click the COMPLETED button.
I'm sure we'll all adapt and get the ones done we can (as now), but overall, I don't see the change as a positive for our timezones.
who numbered the shortcuts for the archipelago? Why aren't they in numerical order?

Regarding the new guild quest time, those of us on the West Coast will have to be on the game at 4am when that switchover happens. I'm sorry, but that's not feasible for 98% of us who don't have an overnight or swing shift. Even at 6am for Central Time, that's questionably early as well. It's bad enough for me in Oregon to answer the phone at 6am from someone on the East Coast who's phoning without checking what timezone they're calling. Please keep in mind that all guild quests have to have us players click the green checkmark for them to count, and that's not going to be happening at 3 in the morning. If the guild quests are automatically-created, then why is the time changing?
I have a real issue with the change time on the servers as well. I am on the West Coast and play mostly in the late afternoon and early evening. The guild quest changes at 5 PM My time now which is perfect. I am on when it resets and can set the production to working for the production quests. 4 AM means it is going to be about 12 hours before I can get them started and there is no way I will be on to click complete when they are done. You have basically made it so most of us on the West Coast are now unable to do the production quests. Good Job!! I would love to know whose brilliant idea this is. With the gem price for the guild quests so high you have basically ruined this for us. The post says this is a positive change. Positive for whom I wonder?
Is there anyway that the guild quest could 'auto complete' once done? Avoids issues with attempting to log on when you work and can only log on for 2-4 hours at night and unable to log on first thing in the morning to hit a check mark...
Can guild quest be set to reset at midnight based on the time zone (or middle time zone for countries with more than one timezone)? As others have stated, the time change noon GMT will become fall at times that do not work well for this server.
Could anyone on the BB team please explain why the time for Guild Quest reset is being set to 12:00 Noon GMT? This seems to significantly disadvantage players in North America who happen to be employed. Just trying to understand how a reset that occurs either when people are sleeping or when they are at work can be considered to be an "improvement."
Another update and another missed opportunity to actually do something about the mess that is the incoherent order of adventures in the star menu. Why, in the name of all that's holy, cannot this be addressed? I am willing to forego the stacking (not that I have much choice), but couldn't someone at BB at least figure out how to alphabetize the dang things?
I mean, seriously...this makes just about as much sense as resetting the GQ time. I have searched high and low in the forum for complaints about the GQ time after the last reset, and found none. I am online quite a bit and I have yet to see a single complaint in any of the chats...but, all of a sudden, the GQ reset time is being changed. Why?
So -- an event conversion... of 'what'... because i received 2 batches of training dummy.. totalling 538... with no info on 'what' was converted, or what these training dummies do. And i STILL have a huge amount of previous soccer event buffs... so it wasn't those. (I was Looking Forward to finally getting rid of those from my star menu)

BB can you shed some light on 'what' exactly you converted. (would have been nice if that was in the email for the conversion.) and WHAT the training dummy does??
At the end of the last event they hid all the collectibles used to make the buffs. Odds are that is what was converted. And with the event a week away you should be able to get rid of those buffs soon... with proper planning.
Thank you BB for stealing all the soccer buffs I had. Another example of caving in to the whiney free players that just started, that don't have as much as others, great way to run a "socialist" game.....Bernie Sanders would be Proud........Oh well guess it's time for those free Facebook games now...............................
Terrible timing for new guild quest reset. I will still be sleeping when it resets so I may be finished but not up to click the finished button.
Hello Settlers,
The pre-event conversion script ran today during the maintenance:
- Remaining items "Twister" and "Corner" were converted to the new tactical resource "Training Dummy".
- Left-over "Bicycle Kick" and "Corner Ball" items were removed and compensated for with the new "Feint" Tactical Item.
Since the normal conversion template was used, the in-game text received alongside the resources is a bit confusing, as it refers to gold coins, but the resources received are correct.
It may appear that these have disappeared if added to the Star Menu, but don't worry, all the event resources will become visible once the event is activated (14th of June).
Happy Settling,

BB... Thanks for the info on the conversion, but this would have been a great item to include in the summer event Dev Diary. Will that be posted soon?
Also, I will take a patient approach to messing with guild quest reset times, but the previous time was 6 or 7 pm central depending on daylight savings time, pretty close to ideal for most who work during the day in my time zone. It would have made more sense to have it 7 pm pst/10 pm est.
As for the Guild Quest reset timer, I fully understand that changing this aspect of the game will affect you and other players who are used to and prefer the current time. However, the time preferences are not exactly that clear cut for all players.
Any chosen time will be inconvenient to certain players, and the time these quests have now is similar to the times that the Europeans had until now. Interestingly enough, we also received complaints in the EU about changing the times to what the US players had before. It seems that this could be due to being used to a certain time than the actual change itself being overwhelmingly bad.
However, I am very interested in how this will affect players in the end. If there is a majority of negative opinions, we will of course bring this up in internal discussions again. First of all though we should see how this actually affects the play style.

I hated the old guild quest reset time.
I hate the new time too. Just a little less. Because it works a little better with my personal schedule, most days.
A lot of my hate for the start times is driven for me by the fact that I have to log in to get the production quests to start counting and that I have to log in just to click complete. It's often personally inconvenient that I'm not just handed things for the fact that I exist. Having to participate to get them is a bit much.
ok, back to the buffs and collectables we HAD. BB if you recall you sold collectable boxes last soccer event for gems, I the fool bought some, the conversion rate does not equal to the gem costs. and why are long term players and gem buyers ( the guys paying your salary) being punished cause of the whiney "i don't have as much as other players" guys? the constant nerfing and changing rules garbage has gotten OLD!!!!
Where are these 'Training Dummies' kept? I got the email with my 2 loads of dummies 1 500 something the other with ~190, after accepting them I can't see them in my Star Menu (at home or in the adventure) but I can see the soccer buffs 'Foul', 'Header' and 'Tackle'. Nor do I see the dummies in the Trading selection.
So how do I check up on them?
Kam
I get it, there's never one time that works for everyone, especially when you are trying to land on ONE time for the ENTIRE GLOBE, and everyone has different personal schedules. Things like this used to be tied to the timezone the server itself was located in, so it at least made some sense for the local players, but that's gone away, and I personally think that's a negative.
Noon GMT is 6AM eastern time in the US, or 3AM on the west coast. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense for production-type quests, neither for getting them started nor for getting back on to click the "YES, REALLY, I'M DONE" checkbox.
When picking only one time, you have to try to appease the "majority" of players, and I suspect that the majority are in Europe, so I understand WHY this change is being made, but it's going to be a negative for the majority on the North American servers, I suspect.
How will it affect my gameplay? I live/work on a traditional schedule, so I'm not getting up at 4 in the morning to start production quests, or at 3 in the morning to click OK. So for me, it probably means getting fewer done at times. Rolling over as they previously did (6pm local time for me) was close to ideal, although an hour or two later might have even been better when you think through the effect across all NA timezones for people with traditional schedules.
It's just guild quests, of course, but there you have it.
It's the North America Server where the guild quest reset time is the problem. Most players either work or go to school. The guild quest was resetting in the late afternoon or early evening for those who live in North America. This worked for the majority of the players as they could be online either when the quest reset or shortly afterwards. For production quests this is perfect as the players could start whatever production was needed and then click finish either before work or school, or afterwards when they got home again. A lot of the players only play in the evenings, so the new start time (4 AM PST) totally does not work for the majority. I know for myself getting up at 4 AM is NOT an option, so when I log in around 3 or 4 PM PST, I have lost 12 hours of the production time. I am not staying UP til 4 AM hoping my production completes either. If this is a way to torture the North American players, you have succeeded! The start time may be perfect for the European servers but is a total fail for the North American ones.
Still waiting for the ability to move an item at the bottom of the barracks queue to the top with 1 click...
Not to mention the rest of the things in http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/t...Needful-Things
And a fix to the mini-rollbacks where you have to send out Geo's multiple times and found deposits moving locations.
Maybe in the future, they can auto-magically click the 'Complete' button for us before it expires given the new reset time?
From what I've read, this quote from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory came to mind.
"I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday on what we learned during the week will now take place on Monday before we've learned it. But since today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest. Pencils ready!"
