I have a suggestion. I have run into like a LOT of cooks/chefs in this game. We should have a food or cooking trivia nite! That would be fun!!!
What will happen to the pumpkims left in my storehouse after the Halloween period?
I really like your trivia, although I dont participate very often, I´m just not good at finding out when it is (I´m GMT+1) so it´s pure luck if I´m online when it is going on :-D I could be fun, and maybe very difficult for some too, with a little geography? or history :-D
I have run into lots of Sci Fi fans and BBC fans here. Maybe a series of them on each (i.e. Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who. Doc Martin, Downton Abbey, The Midwives). Also some of the "brainy" type ones about niches of science or history that would likely require more people to go searching for answers than already knowing them (perhaps things like What brain structures are responsible for (blank)? Who was the first Olympic medalist on the "modern" games? What is the precursor of (blank) vitamin?)
Love the trivia. I stop what I am doing and participate whenever I can. Even if I don't win it is fun seeing the funny answers. More questions and less winners per round maybe would be the only thing I would change.
Perhaps make the trivia answers a little harder to just google or open a wiki. Right now those with a faster connection speed have the advantage.
Trivia ideas:
Sorta game related
More specialist trivia, it was fun and there are plenty of historically significant geos to warrant their own trivia, just as there are generals and explorers.
Resource trivia: Metallurgical uses, history of mining, locations of marble types prized by various empires, loads can be done with both metal and stone mined res.
: Various wood types and uses, tools, all sorts of things centering around carpentry, coopering, smithing, dealer's choice really.
Not even a little game related
Movie trivia: always a popular one, could try to switch it up with doing a 6 degrees of separation thing by giving 2 actors who've never acted together and having ppl link them in the shortest possible chain of films, winners would accurately name costars/movie in shortest chain. (thought this may be too long of an answer round)
TSO is an international game with an international audience. Maybe some geography trivia would be fun.
i agree with previous post, geography would be a good topic.
also maybe math and science of which i know nothing about, lol, i do best at movies and music.
I enjoy the trivia sessions immensely. I can't always be online then, and I am quite dreadful at some. But here are a few ideas:
--American History
--European History
--Fantasy Books
--Flowers or Trees or Botany
--Rock Music
--Planet Earth
--Harry Potter
--Lord of the Rings
--Biology
--Health
--Exercise and Sports
--Oceanography
--Civil War
--Revolutionary War
--Languages
--Art
--Astronomy
I always enjoy trivia events. I almost always totally veg and never get to them. The other day I just happened to login as it was getting ready to start and saw it in global. Otherwise I would have missed that one too.
Would it be possible to send a msg like the one we get telling us the server is going to go down for maintenance when it's time for trivia? You might get a lot more participation that way. Anyway, it was fun!! And thanks for the 100 gems!
Fun as always.
how about a quiz on TV shows
Meep
Just wanted to suggest that it is a bit more inclusive (spreads the wealth) if the trivia returned to only allowing one win per session per player. Allowing a player to win multiple times in a session might point to indepth knowledge, or maybe just a really fast typist. But then, I have always been opposed to giving out loot to "first tell"--again, the fast typist gets it, not the most polite or needy. Just my two cents.
LOVED the bingo, me and my internet are both too slow for the trivia, but felt involved in the bingo. Well organised and great fun. Thank you to those that organised it , Didnt come close to winning , but enjoyed it immensely .
I enjoyed the Bingo. =) Thank you for trying something a little different for the chat events.
the bingo game is a good idea it can help people with items and is not a one sided event meant only for experienced players anyone can join
it is a great idea pls keep it going thx
sincerely

Very fun, nice change from trivia. Enjoyed very much.
If looking for suggestions for future events, perhaps something similar to Battleship: players pick 3 or 4 adjacent spaces on a 7 x 7 board (a-g, 1-7) and the mods call random spaces (ie. a6, f7, b3). First player with 3/4 hits wins. Would be similar in duration as 50 number bingo.
The Bingo rolled out smoothly considering it was our first run. My first suggestion would be to slow down the rate at which the numbers are called. Having the Number Caller pause between numbers would create dead chat time and increase the possibility of the game being inadvertently interrupted. The Number Caller could insert either a word message between each number or any symbol to indicate the next number is about to be drawn. An example is:
Mod: Starting
Mod: 18
Mod: Next Number
Mod: 22
Mod: Next Number
Mod: 34
Another option that I am not sure if it would slow it down too much or make lag by too many entries, idk:
Mod: Starting
Mod: 18
Mod: ---
Mod: --
Mod: -
Mod: 22
Mod: ---
Mod: --
Mod: -
Mod: 34
There should be set amount of possible winners for each Round of Bingo and numbers should continued to be called until there are X amount of winners have bingo.
As time is usually a factor I hope we can find a way to keep 3 Rounds of Bingo.
Second suggestion is to have players send their number picks for all 3 Games at the start of the Bingo event when prompted. Late arrivals can Only participate in the 3rd round where an announcement prior to the start of the 3rd round will instruct players who have Not already whispered their numbers to whisper BB now.
In the rare event that a Bingo is not called and time is in short supply, BB should consider using the Free Space number call for any players who may have 4 numbers.
Thanks for your feedback, Nightmare! We will definitely be organizing more Bingo events in the future! ;)
what about the settlers online trivia? general knowledge about items or generals or buildings in game. you give a not much revealing hint towards the general/item/building in a way we have to guess its use/name. its cheat free as you cant just google its awnser that way.
if this is gonnaa be a event then i hope i can be there
Love this, much better for slow typers than trivia, and i can do it and run adventure at the same time, with trivia, i am always using mouse to move troops so when i went to chat it wasn't selected, so never win, I haven't won Bingo but i feel I had a better chance anyways, ty for the Bingo
agree with kadidile was better for slow typists
looked like worked well
maybe more rounds?
Sorry to revive an old topic, but might I suggest that chat events be held when people in the countries served by the given server are not as likely to be at work? 1 in the afternoon east coast (10 in the morning on west coast) during the workweek is in the middle of the most common hours worked in the U.S. I would assume weekend (or evening hours during the workweek) would be better for a large percentage of the players.
