Will the Settlers all change to elves? (asking for a friend) :D
Will we eventually be able to "buy" the 2 generals we don't choose in Black Market?
PS: It all looks good, Thank you!
Hi CoffeeCat,
We plan on offering the new generals in the shop at some point in the coming year. :)
Cheers,

YaY!!!!!
First I've heard about a Level 7 Provision house. Is this something just for the event?Quote:
Name: Granite Transformation
Effect: Converts Presents and Marble into Granite
Minimum requirement: Level 7 (for Provision house)
Available in: Provision house(s)
Added: I was thinking it was a recipe like those used in the Rarity PH, but this is just for the event. The Removal Phase shows that the conversion is in the Mayor's House.
Please clarify.Quote:
The option to convert Marble and Presents to Granite inside the Mayor's house is no longer available.
Did I read the Adventure Section correctly, Only 2 Adventures that you pay gems for will be the ONLY ones that may bring back presents? In years before any adventure could have potential why this changed?
What does this mean, re: buildings:
" New limit 2016: If you gathered this item last year, you can grab another one this year"
If I got the recyclers last year, then I can only get one this year?
Dev's Diary Update
Hello!
Updates have been made to the Dev's Diary to provide more information regarding the upcoming Christmas Event. The following items can be obtained once again this year, as their limits have been reset:
Quartermaster Claus
Improved Watermill
Deerstalker Hut
Recycling Manufactory
Happy Holidays!
I've also done that. I'm just confused by the language. I've always gotten the max number of buildings each event. From this reading, I thought they were changing it to limit us to 1 of each type
Be nice if another RPH was permitted for long-time players... Currently the rph means nothing to us who already have one... so only new players can get rewarded, how about a new RPH (same capability, but new name e.g. Colorful Finesmith) and put a limit of 1x for them too?
This would permit long time players to get something as well as provide them with something we could definitely use! Our RPH's are now quite busy, even with Barazeks, 20+ day queues are not uncommon (currently 46d for me).
I would like clarification of the presents from adventures as well. As I read the Dev Diary, it seems only the 2 gem Christmas adventures will drop presents, and even then you are not guaranteed presents from adventures I have to use gems on?
New generals are awesome. Mostly looking forward to Nusala, but they all seem very helpful.
I like the gingerbread houses. They are not as good as frozen manors until level 7 buildings come around, but they are a nice building.
Another Santa Claus is welcome. This should make for (almost) enough so that I don't have to load up little generals any more.
There's literally nothing for most of the advanced players to buy. :-/
If indeed true that Only 2 Adventures (Gem Purchase) will be dropping Presents, I feel horrible for the lower level players that don't have an excess of Explorers that some of us have. It's put them at a HUGE disadvantage in being able to gather Presents. If this is the case, I think BB really needs to rethink their strategy, as this is a massive turnoff for the lower level players to even try and participate in the Event.
I wouldn't go quite that far. Quartermaster is useful, and recyclers are always helpful. I might grab a couple watermills as well. But yeah, I don't think I will have much need for presents after a few days. Even grout is no longer a particularly compelling use for them. The deerstalkers I would have bought (still use my existing lot of 11) are no longer appealing thanks to the improved ones, and I already have the RPH and all the recipes. The calendar doors will be great, though.
A question on top of that awesome response.. :)
Lets say I pick Gen A, among the three A,B,C, during the event..
When you release the gens in shop after the event, will I be able to have A + A + B + C..
or will it still be restricted to A + B + C only..
Hope I am making sense..
In other words, do you know what will be the total count cap on the new gens?
Will we be able to have max 3.. or max 3 (Shop) +1 (Event)?
Senior moment.
New generals are cool, but I am not quite sure which one to chose?
Most are still making up their minds, but it sort of heavily depends on your level or rather the content you are focusing on, as well as your play style of course. To many of us high levels/endgame content people it's a race between Vargus and Anslem, Nualsa kind of doesn't make the cut. Nualsa has the power of 3 MMAs, so she can always used for that purpose if that fits with your play style, aka taking your time with adventures due to work/whatever.Quote:

I am surprised this is the only entry questioning the rph. Im not a full-time player at the time, but even then, my rph is always smoking. Another/2nd RPH would be a nice option.
I see a lot of sniveling about the new generals, and they are the same questions asked (and answered/responded to) over and over. If one does not get the response, then head on over to the test server and check it out for yourself.
I am sure we all feel our questions are important, more important than ones posed by anyone else even. I have seen that BB_Aeyline normally response to posts when an answer becomes available, though sometimes it might be self-answered in a dev diary or such.
Regarding the availability of the generals in the merchant at a later time, I would expect it to be very much like the current releases: We will be allowed to purchase each of them to the imposed limit of the release (normally x1 for specialists). In any case, to hedge all bets it would seem best to get the general that will satisfy your needs now, deal with future options later.
I would like to know about caps as well, though I already have my event calendar general picked out, but I wouldn't be surprised if a decision has not been made and won't for a while since they have time. I would hope gem purchases would not be limited by event purchases because in that case I might just wait and pick up one each year, though whether future event purchases are limited I wouldn't be surprised to wait a year to find out. Unlike the MMA, which was overpowered but not THAT overpowered, they eventually caved and so now we can have one each event. Perhaps these new generals are THAT overpowered. Then again, if I am to reach level 75 at any point in the next decade, perhaps I need a bunch of overpowered generals.
I completely agree. I have no idea what the designers were thinking when coming up with this idea. The only area that did not favor the long-time player to gross proportions was the adventures dropping event items, yet they cut them!?
So, during the event, there is NO incentive for players to run adventures (in regards to the event, in any case). Used to be the one time to get all players pounding out the adventures was during events; now? What are players going to do? send out explorers and call it a day? Again, the noob and mid-range players with fewer explorers are SOL. :(
No, a couple of gem adventures are not likely to drive the interest in adventuring for the event...
Oh please....I'm so thankful for that. I'm _still_ burned out from Halloween last year lol OoQuote:

I gave up on adventures for resources the past few events and just was happy with what I could get playing normally because I didn't think it was worth the effort, but I could see the benefit for someone newer. I don't really need presents for doing Wood Cutter, though it would be nice, but I could see at least stocking them in something like Horseback. At least there will be plenty of presents to go around. I bought most of my event resources the first few events and scraped by enough to get everything I wanted, so I was happy there was a market of those who didn't really have much need for them.
Christmas event never has had presents dropped from adventures. Christmas 2016 is nothing new, no one is getting shafted by a change.

2013:
http://forum.thesettlersonline.net/t...ight=christmas
Event drops used to be:
Halloween = pumpkins from adventures - no pumpkins from explorers
Christmas = no presents from adventures - presents from explorers
Easter = eggs from adventures - eggs from explorers
Halloween has been changed with the 2016 event to be pumpkin field refills from adventures - pumpkins from explorers
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.
First collectible quest for the event - 8 bells, 20 candy canes, 0 gingerbreads. Am I reading the Dev Diary wrong?Quote:
Nine collectibles, each containing two items, will spawn on your island with every collectible item refresh
Well I didn't find anything other than candy canes ...
The Dev's Diary says "Nine collectibles, each containing two items, will spawn on your island with every collectible item refresh." As I understand it, that means we should have 18 collectibles each time (9x2) but I have 4 bells and 10 candycanes from my first drop: 14 collectibles instead of the 18 the notice seems to say.
Explorers are not bringing presents for many ppl.
