YaY!!!! Glad to see the water castle finally have some population. People gonna whine but....... whiners gonna whine no matter what BB does. Also glad to see the new crystal shard quests going live already. Thanks for continuously working to add to and improve the game.
Can't wait to see what the pop value given to Water Castle is! Will a scale of pop/level be released as well? Thanks, Kees

Assuming camp deconstruction is demolition phase. Do I understand it right that (I'm guessing currently) BF kicks in after Last Strike/before round 2 and thus early applied BF to the demolition phase which it shouldn't have but BF, other than that, still working as intended and does apply *1.3 (or *1.3*1.3) to the demolition phase for battle rounds lasting 2+ rounds?
200/level is what has been posted on test so far, not sure if we actually got a solid number yet on a hard cap before that or go all the way to 3000 at L15.Quote:

I am glad to see some excitement for the changes that are coming! It's always great to see everyone enjoying the changes, even if it is only a few.

23 hour cooldown is also nice. :)
I agree, the 23 hour cooldwon, allows us to be consistent with an item on a daily bais. gives us an hour latitude. I use this all the time for soccer stuff. I hit my island around 7am typically and the 23 hours always allows me to hit the soccer buff. But the 24 hour in merchant always gets out of whack so I have my purchase for roa always off the time schedule. This allows us to sync to a daily schedule. Thanks a lot.

I guess I'll do the expedition quest now. Players wanted the water castle to hold population from the get go. I'm glad you guys changed your mine.
According to this page (which was apparently updated yesterday by someone with a level 15 expedition castle on their test island), it scales all the way up to 3000 population increase for the final upgrade: http://settlersonlinewiki.eu/en/expe...dition-castle/

Very nice! 3k pop will be nice! can evict some more smaller buildings taking up space. :D
Making the water castle a pop building makes the pvp more attractive; I think it will bring more people to it. Those who had previously found the cost to reward lacking will find the population benefit harder to calculate in their math.
The crystal shard quests and shorter cool downs are also welcome. Thanks for your efforts to keep the game fresh.
When are you going to fix the whisper flashing when there id no one there? I think someone wants to talk to me but there's no on there. sad :(

A suggestion: this update i said to be finished about 6:00 EDT.
EDT? This is listed in https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/ (which I have bookmarked because I often have to figure out what times things are happening that are listed in some time zone I am not familiar with) as "Eastern Daylight Time" (UTC-4). It's used in the summer... and no locations in the world currently use that time zone.
Is EDT what you really meant? Would you consider giving the times for things like this in UTC (the standard reference time)?

i'm level 3 pvp.... and my water castle ended up with 200 pop.. which seems low..... what was proposed in the dev notes??

200 pop per water castle level. max. level for the water castle is 15. With pvp level at 3, your water castle is still level 1.
For the gem stone quest chain, is it the same one every time, or is there multiple possibilities?
52k non-adventure XP per day is nice. Need to juggle some resources around a bit but quite reasonable. Finally I can do something with beans.
23 hour cool down just in time considering this has a day wait.
Crystal shards seem not like much yet, but an interesting start.
This is a good time to revisit the autopay suggestion. These quests are all produce then pay. It would be nice to be able to check a box to do the payment portion of the quest upon completion of the rest of the quest, rather than having to keep checking if production is finished.

The Crystal Shard provides a 10 to 1 ratio for creation of one Crystal for every 10 Crystal Shards in the regular Production House (Resources Tab) for use in The Excelsior...
I am not seeing the "nice effect" mentioned in the description when used on the Mayor's house.
10 to 1 ratio is LAME IMHO... 1 to 1 ratio would be worth the effort and cost.
The ratio is fine considering you also get 51k XP, 50 omniseeds, 1 drill plan and rabbit foot.
There is 0.1 effort in that questline. It's pretty muct a timer you need to click every few hours and be done with it. No running adventure, no needing to buff/pay attention to expert buildings and all that jack.
1:1 ratio would be way imba, it's not like we are sitting on hundreds of thousands of beans that we can just pump into that without worries...oh wait we can. I'd argue about the 6 shards rewards as opposed to 5 or 10, but that's my pseudo OCD getting worked up.
I'm not reading too much into shards yet. For now at 4 crystals per week they aren't worth much, but I would hope there are many more ways to earn them eventually.
The shards came into existence because BB thinks 1 crystal aka 10 shards is too much for reward.
Completing collectables quest gives 4 shards on test server. Thinking behind this is .6+.4=1 crystal.
Am I the only one who thinks 560 beanstalks x 7 = 3,920 each week for 4 crystals seems high? It is not even graduated for lower levels, meaning a level 21-46 has to somehow get beanstalks which they cannot even make in a FTC (which is not even available until lvl45 and probably should be one of the last on the list to buy for epic items) or even able to run an FT adventure to farm beans. I think this needs to be adjusted on a sliding scale or make it cost beans only which are more readily and easily available to them and most everyone. While I personally find the quest tedious, "shrugs", it is doable, I just think it is out of reach for lower lvls.
For 4 crystals, that would be an awful return. Considering all the other rewards and the effort needed, I think it is a good value. I am mostly doing it for the easy XP, which is more than doing BK on premium. Barely makes a dent for me, but in the level 40s and 50s, it's huge.
I think you need to be level 46 to buy the gemstone quest.

I totally agree with Gwalben, for 50K XP + the other rewards, it's worth doing. Most of what it asks me to do, I'm already doing anyway so why not get some XP, an improved drill plan, and lucky rabbit foot out of the deal. It doesn't take long to run out of things to buy with beans and stalks and they start piling up. This is a pretty good way to get rid of some.
On test, there's a reward of 4 shards for finding all collectibles, so at some point that should go live as well and BB_Alex says there are other ways to get shards in the works.
I'm conflicted on the collectible thing. One the one hand, it's nice to finally get a possible prize for doing it. On the other hand, I already have over 15k worth of basically useless Barrels. Grain sacks are useless too. Really the Banners are the only useful collectible at this point ... that and the Leather for when you get the Settlers and Bandits quest line.
Iono, the collectibles itself were the price already, nevermind we barely having any sensible use for most of the things (unless starting out and being a noob). The crystal was final reward feels a bit too hand outy to me, but at the same time, it may give me an incentive to bother collecting them again on a more regular basis or do make sure to look for the elusive last one.Quote:

I currently have no understanding of how powerful exelcior is in terms of getting you XP for a level up on those strech levels (or what used to be at least until BK and then the 50-Baba range), but I'd say the crystal is welcome either way, especially if you are low level and got jack all.
I only bother collecting during events. It will be a nice extra reward when I do collect everything.
Since by design youll never have enough crystals/shards to grind excelsior content its pretty much irrelevant in terms of xp/level up. Unless you are in the 1% and can buy the wayyy overpriced crystals with gems.
At lower levels, Excelsior should make a big difference. Even at level 69, it can easily provide me a double digit percentage improvement. Though I waste most of my crystals on Evil Queen. At least that is increasing to two unlocks.
I really like A New Gemstone now available from the Merchant. Would there be more similar quests added and available for purchase with resources? I find it a great alternative to gain some XP besides adventuring. Perfect for people like me who are not too keen on only adventuring and having hard time collecting crystals for excelsior. Thank you!
