where will i build my Easter basket if i have no room on island to built it at?
why would you change the seasonal adventures to 2x loot. you are supposed to keep up the tradition, not bring it down!
We demand retribution!
This new specialist is the worst one ever offered in my time in TSO. The funny part is it went into test as a decent specialist.... Finding large iron deposits in half the time is meaningless for anyone who plays (and adventures) daily. Even if it was helpful, each island has 16-21? Iron mines, so even if you were the ambitious type to search your mines every-day, one of these guys is nut much help. This specialist will not be useful for those who adventure enough to keep their Industrial Iron Mines filled. This worthless specialist is now useful only for those new to the game or lazy types who do not adventure.
If the early design were left (4m Iron mines over the normal 6m Iron Mines), at least that would be useful for everyone. Noobs could get some fast mines, higher levels could use for their placement of industrial mines and everyone between would be covered.
Here, a good idea went south in the test server. :/
If I did a spring festival, does its cooldown period apply for all the 3 buffs, or can I do a spring cleaning right after the spring festival?
The new specialist is underwhelming, but I will find a use for him. I only have three iron mines up anyway. Someone also suggested booking him for the extra iron/marble deposit, which I have ignored otherwise, so that sounds like a good plan.
I would like a reason to do ventures during events, but no event loot means I stop them.
Spring park is interesting. Highlight collectible buff is pretty cheap. I'm not sure I will uncover enough event resources using it to make up the cost, but even if not, it's a time saver. I wouldn't use a double RPH buff unless I did not have a quadruple or triple, but I could see the use of this or in some cases even on the regular provision house.
As it is implemented in the test server, it works like the Training Field (Footie Pitch): triggering a buff applies the cooldown to the building. You'll need to wait 47h to use the building again (or gem through the cooldown).
Yes, my plan too.
I think the real cost here is the cooldown that is preventing the use of one of the other buffs.
Since this is written "100%" and is a zone buff affecting both RPH and PH, it will stack on the individually placed building buffs. I plan to use this buff on cooldown.
2 day cooldown? Okay, maybe not so useful.
Oh, yes, I forgot how TSO math works (and also it is a zone buff). So then in that case, this is pretty good. I would run this one constantly, or at least as constantly as the cooldown lets me. This is actually fair, but if I can't use the building again, it negates the usefulness of the other buffs.
The unconfirmed plan is that next easter you can buy another spring park and that will reduce the cooldown. Probably to 23h.
Iono....bad yes, Dracul bad, not sure yet.Quote:

I also preferred the initial version, a fast iron deposit is worth more than another sorta generic Geo.
People were complaining that you have to click a lot and waste time to find 20 iron deposits. New geo helps with that..
I like Dracul. Use him all the time. I also don't have any use for fast iron mines and find ones that last longer helpful, although I also don't use a lot of iron to the point where it really matters that much one way or the other.
I'm thinking the new Iron Geo is going to work well for me.
I only build mines on the bigger iron deposits, 550 on the main island, 800 on the Arch. I do the ones on the main island in a 3 day rotation, 2 1st day, 2 2nd day, 3 3rd day, with the mines on the Arch weaving in and out of there. I leave them at level 1, so I'm only building 2 or 3 mines per morning on the main island, with the Arch mines added in every 4th day or so.
With the new Geo all those deposits will be doubled, so I can take all those mines up to level 2, which means twice as much ore in the same amount of time (in other words, faster) and I'll still be able to maintain the exact same routine that I've been using for years now. The old version that found deposits of the same size but depleted them at a faster speed wasn't anything I was interested in because it would mess with my building routine/maintenance.
Each to their own, but I like the new version better and am happy we can get 2 of them. I wouldn't have bothered with the old version geo at all.
I guess I am losing my mind. You all enjoy that near-worthless geo...
Does anyone realize that his '...finding Iron Deposits in half the time...' means that only makes him a Jolly Geologist when it comes to Iron Mines?! LOL! He is a wino geologist (Slow/From the Tavern) for all other deposit searches! :D So.... essentially all you get is a Tavern Geo who searches Iron Deposits (only) at Jolly speed, and Iron mines that are larger?! Wow. I thought it would be at least a Jolly equivalent, and half-time for iron deposits from there (15m)....
...And this is better, or more balanced for all players in what way over having mines that can be mined faster???
Well, at least his avatar has a more constipated look than the other geo's! ;)
Uh, say what??
MoD works rather well in many situations as a blocker! Only skills he gets is 1st aid, jog and travel so he can open many adventures until the winos arrive. Drak works well when skilled as a tag and sac specialist. These are units that are very useful on most adventures I run.... Unlike this POS constipated geologist..... claims he searches twice as fast... sadly he is a slow one to begin with, so essentially any jolly could do the job. Having 2x geos that find slightly larger deposits out of 16-20 depending on your style, is very under-whelming.
Sad to see how the specialist came into test semi-valuable, then got downgraded to nothing more than a pseudo-tavern geologist that only really has one (1) basic improvement (larger iron deposits) since his search time is based upon a tavern specialist, he is less useful for geologist duties than the never-ending stalls of Jolly Geologists, which can search at 2x speed all manner of deposits, including the many new ones (granite, salt, titanium, gold and etc). Sad. :(
why does the chat glitch get worse during the event? Why can't you guys fix the link between chat and hotkey commands? It is really annoying being kicked out of chat box every time we try and type in chat
What happened to triple the loot?
Easter Event Achievements are not recording, I am collecting eggs for my island but the total collected is not changing in Achievements.
Currently I run my Iron Mines constantly at L1 with 100% Buffs, except the 800cap ones on the Arch, which I run at L2 with 100% Buffs. With no Iron usage, this gives me about 10k surplus Iron per day.
So I take my two new Geos, max them out for Iron Mines, then run them around my Island as the existing Mines run out...
This gives me a whack of 1000/1100+ Mines I can run at L2 with 100% Buffs, and the 1700+ ones on the Arch at L3 with 100% Buffs. I'm already up over 7,000 *additional* Iron surplus *per day* (17,000 total) on Mines that run out on about the same schedule as the old ones. That's a 70+% bonus on my Iron production. Plus that now frees up more Jollys to hunt for other stuff. I'm already seeing more Geos sitting around because everything is found faster.
How is this supposed to make me sad? O.o
Maybe the Test ones were better/different, but these ones are okay. Better than some of the near useless/drastically overpriced stuff we've had in the past.
Is there a specific achievement that is not registering for you two or is it just all achievements that are not working for the Easter Event? Could either of you provide a screenshot of this and also let me know which ones are not counting for you?
-BB_Odhran
yes, its the party crasher Dealed With not counting in the easter achievements. Have sent ticket With screenshot and the latest (auto) reply told me its a known issue and that the devs are working on it.
Finished my seventh PC now but the achievements Counter still stays on 4!
I had problem too... island collectibles were not registering for a while, and 25 truces dropped on friends island didn't count the same day..
It did seem to work next day.. for a moment I thought, I am done with this event.. refreshing the game didn't help either, the day it wasn't working..
Spring park sounds unimpressive at first glance, but it works out to an extra manuscript per use when stacked with a barazek. I wouldn't use it for the others, but that's a pretty fair boost for not much cost.
It will also stack with the Mead Hall which has a zone buff for PH/RPH as well, this on top of Bara buff on RPH produces manu's really quickly.
Plus, more Parks and Mead Halls, reduce the Cooldown time for every extra one you add (whenever they decide to allow us more than the 1)
Dear settlers,

Everything was good, but lets get rid of the party crashers, i don't see the connection to the Easter theme
I think we need more variety in the double loot adv, too many single player and co-op ones. Need better items in shop not much there for the advanced players. Also spring park cool down is too long. good idea but needs some more configuring
I agree with Allinel, not any connection between Easter and Party Crashers, make something like an egg garden or something.
well I get the idea of the crashers.. as they are crashing your easter celebration... but an invasion of bunnies that would need food offerings and cages would be more theme oriented. You could even have the same crafting requirements, just shift the bribes to large cage or something? I dont know if that would be feasible but would be more theme oriented.
As to the spring park, I would agree with most.. the buff time vs cool down is far too skewed. The buffs either need to last longer (16-24 hours) or cool down to 24 hours.
There will be multiple chances to get more of them which will then reduce the cooldown time. So, for this year it may be a bit of a waste, but starting next year (I suppose...) that will be workable.Quote:

You poor poor people. Can't see the forest from the trees.
I'm only going to chime in about the new geo at this time. Though I have more to say, this seems to be the only thing people are fixated on. And what I am seeing over and again is that "he is not enough!" Well.. get over it. Did you consider that maybe it's not that he isn't strong enough for you, it's that you just don't understand his application?
When we look at geos alone we don't have alot of option.
I grew up in a time before facebook was even a thing. Cellphones were the size of a suitcase. And we walked to school uphill both way's in ten feet of snow.
You kids just don't know what you have because you've always had it.
What you are seeing is that "we already have way's to search out iron mines. We even have a way to find 2 deposits at once! This guy is just a jolly iron, what the actual #%$&?".
And you're kind of right.
We always have been able to search for iron. Big whoop.
But let's take a step back to when all we had was 4 jolly geos in our star and a wide open tech tree to do whatever we want with.
This leaves with with lots of possibility sure, but almost too much possibility. Can you tech a geo wrong? Technically no.. but I'm gonna argue yes.
Obviously you would not tech all 4 geos to focus on everything stone related, or everything copper/iron/gold related.
You are not adding diversity by doing this, you are taking away potential diversity. You're not gonna do that.
Like me you will likely split the specialty 2 and 2. Picking up speed, deposit size, extra deposit. To one alignment or the other.
Then the smart thing is to give them a silly name like "iron man" so you know that geo is used for.. well. not granite obviously.
If you are going to split two techs among 1 geo type. Let's extend that. To buffing all the iron possible within iron geos. And leaving those points out of our other geos.
Eventually we hit a point where we got a geo that automatically can pick up 2 iron mines. Yeehaw! let's tech them up. Them spend all this copper in the form of tools upgrading these mines. Then the benefit became being to grab 2 granites per 8 hour search. But wait! Order now and we can reduce that search time!
For those silly enough to run gold mines. We can get 2 of those now too. But most of all. That ever precious iron. Would anyone disagree this is the most valuable resource in game?
About as good as it gets is again to split tech trees among your conscious geos.
But now, at last, for the first time in my 6+ years of playing. We have a unit that not only has a tech tree available. But we are told how to tech him! God mode activated.
So here we are putting books into him. Getting 2 mines at a time with enhanced mine speed and 1500 base deposit.
And you are complaining about it.
I don't know why. Now you don't have to put those books into jolly or conscious. You can leave copper and marble to everyone else. Put granite on conscious. And iron on the iron willed.
Is this too simple to understand that you just don't understand it?
Don't feel bad. My girlfriend does the same thing all the time. I set things out nice and simple. And her head explodes trying to overcomplicate things for reasons I will never understand.
The quest for finding ore deposits is out dated and needs to be removed from the quest chains. Many established players have Industrial Mines up and the only way to fulfill such a quest is to tear down an existing Industrial Mine.
I also wonder why the highest form of Treasure Search, The Artifact Search returns nothing? A lot of people have invested a lot of time and resources building up Explorers with books and during events the Artifact search is entirely ignored?
I agree with the Party Crasher comments. If you want to do a quest chain like Snow White where the ultimate goal is to destroy the villain trying to ruin Easter, that would be good. Concerning the Spring Park, the 48 hour cool down is useless. The Iron Will is not all that impressive either. Other than those, it was a good event overall.
I got a MMA and a new useful building and some other specialists, plus it looks like there will be need for a lot of mills and silos soon so those should also come in handy. What more could I ask for? I marked the new geologist as useful, but only just. I have found a somewhat limited use for him, but he is not what I would have asked for.
