The point I was making: I send most of my scouts out on artifact searches twice a day and get a good number of rainbow snows for free. I can increase the number of plat swords without having to increase coal usage/increase the costs. It costs me 500 meat to make a steak buff, doesn't cost me anything to get a snow. (Unless somebody wants to go into CPA mode and amortize the cost of the scout into each snow found)
Platinum ore has been virtually worthless for quite a while. Doubling virtually worthless equals what? Next to nothing? There's so much platinum ore in this game I don't see where anybody is going to be suffering, not even lower levels. If BB was making these changes AND reducing the drop of plat ore...... but so far they're not.
Yeah, I get it. Hopefully it doesn't sour you on MCC which looks like it's going to be pretty good overall.
Nothing has been mentioned about the island fog BB, I sure hope it isn't a ploy to hustle gems from us to simply see our screens.
Really on second glance the double of battle horse and plat swords is significant. will have to re balance several chains - wool, coal, plat to make it work. its a big change that will bring increase prices for all the componnents. my whole strategy thses days is xp xp xp. so i am virtually always filling the elite rack with ms cooking. level6 non buff can make 275 in 24 hours. that will require production of 1 non buff level6 elite stable to supply. so anyone skunking and layering rec guides will need production of 5 elite stables or the eqiuv.
I dont llike buffing work. plus the new quests demand so many steaks (50) and baskets (25) per day that i dont have spare yards for the extra buffs. So the challenge will be balancing the new chains once again. That is significant. imo
As a low level player I don't have any input on a lot of the things people are complaining about, but I would like to say I am excited for the 'Collect All' quest finally giving some reward. When you have a lot of collectibles you don't even bother looking for all of them (esp the elusive ones) and having an incentive to do that definitely makes the waits for production stop being game-closing or tab-switching moments.
+1
and, as someone said in GC-1 besieged and sea snake will now become.....SE and SoTV lol
Was a long debate on test forum about changing Pathfinder rewards... that was BB idea from the start and they kept it. so, not really a point to go there and tell your opinions, they don't listen anyway.
*shrugs
I reached lvl 70 and got the Pathfinder in January 2017, since then I missed 1 week of star coins reward when I forgot to click complete on the 7 days login quest... lately it was the only interesting challenge.
I guess it's time to say bye bye tso :)
One thing puzzles me is why people are getting so excited about having tons of platinum ore. Is that REALLY such a problem? For my money, I can have a squillion platy ore in star and it just means one resource at least that I don't have to worry about. It's NOT a thing I waste any time thinking about.
doubling the cost of those elite horse troops, now that is nasty. MS especially are the core of the army for high level adv, much like recruits are for lower level. I don't see the need to double the cost.
Also dubious about the new fog. We'll have to wait and see on that. Gonna be deeply unimpressed if I have to make significant effort/cost to defog again, having already done it.
Bonus unlock for each production chain in the epic farmyard? A pleasant surprise. With the 5 Snow Whites I had saved for the double unlocks, that will bring me to 3/4 of the way done with the new max levels. Very good for production of flour and wheat for the buff quests. It will still take a couple more months, but I am now pretty close to moving on and saving crystals for something else.
"A new health bar for enemy camps showing the health points of the camps. The health bar and the enemy units will only appear on mouse over and selection of the camp and will not be shown while selecting the camp as attack target. The "Battle" and "Demolition" Archive entries have been adjusted accordingly."
... the numbers don't add up, and its too large

not each production chain
yes good comment about health bar. Other issue with it is when you zoom in and out it doesn't change size and covers other things you should or might want to see.
With change log also lose pathways every time you leave you island and come back.
Whew, Fortunately able to complete all the PF quests to collect the 5k Star Coins! Missed being nerfed. The plus to this nonsense is that one no longer has to worry about getting all 9x PF quests; 6 will be fine now. Thank you BB for encouraging me to find other things to do and dramatically reduce my time on TSO. :D
Please bring back the old health bar, this one is huge, ugly and useless.
Also bring back all of the roads that vanished during the update.
I expect a BB response to this. I got through six of the nine PF tasks by Tuesday... earned myself 1K granite and 800 grout. Today I log in and the PF is going to give me 15 crystals I don't need if I bother to finish the Pathfinder.
So it appears I get exactly ZERO star coins this week, earning 1000 granite, 800 grout and 15 crystals. This is ridiculous. I don't think I'm going to play until I see a response to this. I'll just log in for daily stuff, check here, and leave.
Remember the day the game was down (Sunday in the US), many of us missed the 5K star coins that week as well. So I should probably have something on the order of 7500 to 10000 more SC than I have now. I don't really care about the rest of it. I can easily get grout and granite from AB's or mines, and 15 crystals is about 1.5 days of daily quests on premium vs two weeks of star coins now.
Well, I tried it and can honestly say I really dislike the new camp destruction bar system. Its vastly uglier than the old one, clutters up the screen pointlessly, and having it come on as soon as the battle starts is a really bad idea. While not fight threatening there were numerous times where I used the appearance of the camp destruction bar as a signal to dispatch a new wave of generals.
I know getting BB to rescind what it thinks is a brilliant new idea is probably unheard of, for the love of the game, please do.
The main problem I have is that I can't see what bad guys are in a camp when I'm sending my attack. I can see the camp composition before and after, but as soon as I click the "attack" button the bandit numbers all disappear. This is NOT an improvement, BB, please fix this.
Okay, perhaps I am missing something here. Why would we want that bar on the screen? It is only for the actual camp Destruction Phase. From what I have observe, the bar only shows once is appears that the attacking group will be successful; then upon successfully defeating the enemies, it starts decreasing and displaying the take-down of the camp (not enemies, which are now kaputt). I have not seen it show the bar for sac waves, though other player have reported as having seen the bar pop up on sac wave attacks. This display to me seems superfluous. If there is an actual, thoughtful purpose, please let me know.
What would be useful is monitoring the combat: the strengths of our army and that of the enemies. Have to suggest, however, that if such a thing were implemented, it best be done on the sides and away from the map, don't want to interfere with other assignments.
And jinxed, well done :PQuote:

I miss one simple feature which used to exist, I think.
When attacking a camp, I basically drag the general over to the target camp. I think the game used to show the enemy troops in a camp when I moused over the camp; now there's no feedback. I'd like to see the troops contents as I mouse over a camp while making the attack, just to confirm I am targetting the correct camp.
I agree with being able to tell what I'm attacking when hovering over a camp with the attack cursor. That was helpful information.
the new bars have no real purpose. With the champs most attacks are done i a single wave for my setups. What the new bars DO is get in the way. there are layouts i use that rely on releasing a general when a first general hits a particular landmark. The bars are now obscuring that on the 1st thief. Pleae remove them.
Please re-apply the excelsior spinner fix, that was nice while it lasted.
Again it stalls after a couple of spins - if you put a couple of gems through, then spin then do the same again it locks on you :(
Ok so when BB applied the new 'progress bar' you took away the troop count hover over while attacking. You can see enemy troop count b4 attacking but if you are choosing an enemy to attack it no longer shows the enemy camp count.. this really needs to be returned.. when we grab the attack icon - i know i personally double check the enemy troop count b4 actually clicking the camp (one last double check).

(sorry i saw Wruined 's post after i posted -- but we are essentially asking for the same thing).
Speaking from the other end of the spectrum, as having already hit level 75, I am amazed at the complaining going on so I’ll hit on some of those comments/complaints. I don’t always agree with what the dev’s do in this game either. However, I make my own choice every day to play or not based on those changes. We’re not forced to play this game. Adventuring shouldn’t be a “grind” – that sounds more like a chore you have to do and not something you choose to do. Pathfinder is also something we’re not forced to complete so saying we “have” to do it is not true. It’s always been a choice, whether to do everything to get the star coins or not. Changing the rewards for completing Pathfinder still doesn’t force you to do it. If you don’t like the rewards, don’t do it. Same with any other aspect of this game, PVP included.
It is easier than ever to level up faster with the new quests (Shiny Gemstone, Deer Tracker & Lost Puppy). We have been given more and more to make this game easier. Majors, MMA’s, COA’s and the other generals have made the adventures faster with fewer losses. Fairytale’s, Ali Baba’s and soon the Mountain Clan adventures have given us more choices of what adventures to play with higher rewards. Excelsior and all the ventures and side quests it has given us help with the leveling process. New buildings, being able to upgrade to level 6, better buffs, zone buffs, etc. All of these things have been given to us to make the game easier, faster and more fun.
This game, and it is after all just a game, is all about choices. You choose what you want to make of the game, how far you want to go, whether to spend your hours talking in Global, posting your thoughts, ideas or complaints by the hundreds and for some, the thousands, in Forum, just adventuring, or a combination of one or more of these things. We have been given those choices. To expect everything to be given to us without the output on our side is ridiculous. Just as in real life you choose what to spend your time on. We all have a real life with families, jobs, homes to look after. You don’t get things in real life without the effort, why would you expect it here…
You can get to level 75, or whatever level your goal is. Yes, it takes hard work and tons of adventuring to do it. It can’t be done just doing lootspots and the minis that come from some of them, you have to put in the effort and do the adventures yourself.
Personally, I’d prefer the dev’s stop with any new features until they get the mechanics of the game working correctly. Lags, freezing, downtime and game glitches happen more frequently than ever before and yet, these things do not seem to get corrected – at least not for any length of time.
I am a traumatic brain injury survivor, and I rely on being able to check repeatedly and quickly in order to progress efficiently in an adventure map. Taking away the display of the contents of a camp when hovering over it with the attack pointer is kind of discriminatory to people with short term memory disabilities. Also I suggest changing your outlook toward making "improvements" to the game to focus on making gameplay smoother and easier, while creating greater challenges in the game content, not the other way around.
Can we not get some QOL upgrades please? Can I not send all my explorers and geos with less than 100 clicks. Can you add more FT's and Woodcutters into the frag store. I love the new quests for stalks, but tired of the RNG of getting better adventures.
I guess I do not warrant a response.
Olfred, you lay it out nicely, I am making the choice not to play based on recent changes. I disagree with both the changes and how they were implemented.
Guess I'll log in today, it might be the last time, if it is, then thanks to all I played with for 6 years. I find other than a few people like Evil_J, Raubhautz, Battlefart, Kanks and a few other guildmates plus a random TO friend or three, there is not much reason to log in recently.
It's possible I'll check out the MCC or the next event, but my biggest fun in logging in recently has been the Pathfinder. Instead of using it to vary my gameplay even more, they made it worth less to complete. That's backwards in my book, and removed some of my remaining fun.
EDIT: I owe someone a loot spot still for Second Thief lol. Guess I'll be logging a couple more times, can't have my angst ruin another player's day.
You should of still had the option to get the old rewards from this if you started it before the new update. If you are having issues with that please contact our Support team here.

I checked the name of the forum here ... yep, just as I thought, it's FEEDBACK. I always love it when people (usually people who are way past where most are in the game and thus totally unaffected by any changes made) get on here and say - hey, stop giving feedback, just accept whatever you are "given".
LOL. Yes, the game is better than it was 5 years ago, no doubt. That doesn't mean every change is/has been good, or made the game better or more playable.
Constructive feedback is totally different from complaining, both of which are plentiful in forum. One helps, one hinders. I didn't say stop the feedback - I only commented on the complaining and never did I say accept whatever you are "given". I will say however, that if you work with what you are given you can level.
Totally unaffected by the changes? I think not as 1. I still play the game on Ares and 2. I also play the game on another server where I am not yet level 75.
You may be correct that the literal wording was not there, but here is the inferences that do suggest such a thing, read what is meant, and not what you wish it to be (or not be in this case):
Could not agree more. Standing on his (her?) soap-box after the fact and looking back to point fingers... How typical. From what I have read, most (not all) of the complaints DO offer feedback that is constructive; it may not be what other commenter's like and thus not be considered constructive, but if taken at face-value, they are.Code:...However, I make my own choice every day to play or not based on those changes. We’re not forced to play this game. Adventuring shouldn’t be a “grind” – that sounds more like a chore you have to do and not something you choose to do...
