wow.. I like the buffs for adventures and battles..
Reduced general travel time, buffs which affect both player and enemy in different ways..
which I guess gives players an edge who plan their own attacks instead of following guides (or will Evil_J be able to keep up with all the possibilities :D)
Again, I like the change..
One small problem.. they are coming too late for me.. :(
Due to the slowness of adventures.. I stopped playing months ago.. and not sure if I'd come back :( :(
Only thing which might change my mind, is some exciting new ideas to update my simulator with latest changes.. but oh, the time that would need...

Flower farms seem like Halloween pumpkin fields, except only 3 of them.
Only 3 buildings
I'm not seeing any buildings other than the new Love Garden, Observatory, and Weather Station. Why not offer improved buildings?
The buildings look cool, but I feel like they are too many conditions and limitations placed on their use.
I'd like BB to consider making these new buildings simpler and make it more obvious how and when to use them.
Elite Training ground, Scouting Post, Laboratory, Snack Shop...great, I want them and know what they do.
New Love Garden, Weather station, or Observatory, not sure I want or need them, and it's difficult to figure out their value.
Early explorer treasure search
I already sent my explorers on prolonged treasure searches, timed to complete after the event starts. Now I find the start time of the event is unknown. Kind of frustrated I wasted the planning of sending explorers out early.
Farm production
So 3 farms with minimal aunt irma buff delivers 72 x 3 x 2 = 432 flowers per day. For 14 days (assuming they are kept filled) yields 6048 flowers.
Question: Do Flower farms keep producing during Removal phase?? Otherwise the farms only run 10 days yielding 4320 flowers.
Valentine Card Boxes
Making Valentine card boxes to keep farms buffed at 4x for 3 hours and to enable +100% resource and refill from coop and multiplayer, is limited by the long production time of the boxes: 6 hrs on RPH, and 36 hrs on PH. This ties up RPH and/or PH preventing the production of other important buffs and manuscripts. I'd prefer a shorter production time. Making only 4 valentine boxes a day only gives me 4x buff and +100% resource for 3 hours per day. Seems like the 3 hour length of the buff is also limiting.
Love Garden
The Love Garden buff area is 9x9 grid with Love Garden itself taking the middle 3x3 area. That leaves room for eight 3x3 areas for population buildings, most of which are 3x3 in size.
To get 15 Love Garden buffs and +200 pop growth for 12 hours (21 hour cooldown), you need 2 Love Gardens.
To get 20 Love Garden buffs and random quest for 12 hours (21 hour cooldown), you'd need to buy a 3rd Love Garden in trade or wait a year.
To get 25 Love Garden buffs, and +300% pop growth for 12 hours (21 hour cooldown), you need a 4th Love Garden.
Since I mainly get my settlers from the PH Retired Bandits, population growth is not a big draw. Also add to that the hassle of moving buildings and finding an area large enough to place everything just so.
Observatory
Reducing travel time is nice, 2 hour buff, with 47 hour cooldown.
Not sure what "propagated buffs" are.
What does this mean? "The buff on the home zone only impacts the owner of the zone, reducing travel time of their generals back from adventures."
So it works for any friend traveling to the adv, but not on friend's return from adv??
Weather Station
This give your army an advantage, but same advantages are given to the enemy. So where is this useful? Which adventures, which situations? How do I know what the enemy's flanking, min/max damage are? This might be fun to research if I even knew how to research this. Similar to having a specialized general like Mad Scientist and not using it because I don't where and how to use it.

So in summary, might get the Geo/Expl/Recipes, but likely passing on the rest because either BB has lost touch with why we're playing, or there are a couple of servers out there spending mad Gems and who also love advanced math more than fun games.
Whomever made the screenshots showing the buildings should be taken out back and shot. All the 2x2 buildings are shown on a 3x3 grid. Very misleading and difficult to interpret. Here's a novel idea - Why not show a 2x2 building on a 2x2 grid? Simple, clean, and what the players are used to and understand.
I guess I'll just do my best to figure things out with these goofy screenshots. Except on my Arabian Palaces. Since it seems the person who was so intent on displaying extra grid squares forgot about them.
Nothing new - issues arrived with the event. I think BB should concentrate on fixing what is currently wrong with the game instead of introducing more events and issues into the game. Try to tell your kids on Christmas day morning they are getting their presents on Boxing day or possibly later :)
Looking forward to a new event. I'll probably skip the Love Garden building since I have plenty of Bread and Population in my Star menu, but everything else looks worthwhile. A nice way to keep interest and game activity going between Christmas and Easter events. Thank you.
Second Thief is a decent adventure from that list. I'll run what I've got.
The buildings don't seem particularly compelling.
Charming geologist could be interesting. A new explorer is always welcome.

What good are any of these things if I can't even get into the game to attempt to find anything? Is this supposed to be fun? All I have done since the update is try to get to the game and fail. Now, just when I get home from work and have a few hours to play, you are doing another update/fix for the hours I might be able to play. What a joke.
Does this mean my "log in every day for a month" resets back to day 1, because I haven't been able to log in for more than 24 hours?
Keep your "events" to yourself and let us play the game.
I see we are down for maint again... ... at peak time.... again.... good thing i had no faith in it starting so i loaded up both ph and rph with steaks, feasts and bandits.. both barracks are full... just so stuff is busy..
sadly.. i was too optimistic and left market running..... sooo thats going to time out ... again... really tired of all my 'run when buffed only" buildings running willy nilly without a buff because i cant get in to stop them.
Valentine event- the idea is good but the way it is planned is bad.
1. It use flowers refills, like Halloween event... with the huge difference that producing flowers is way faster than producing pumpkins, only 20 min here. The farms come with 100 units (depos, whatever you want to call it). 20 min prod time means a consumption of 3/hour->72/24 hours. So, the farms will deplete in 34 hours. That means we will have to get refills quite fast. And a lot of refills, 72x3=216 refills every day for all 3 farms. I can do it since my schedule allows me to be online a lot, but how about the players who can login only a few hours/day?
Anyway, we will have to run a lot of adventures... not ANY adventures, tho, ONLY multiplayers and co-ops will drops refills. Which means a small amount of refills/loot because that's BB thinking, an adventure for 2-3 players always has a lower drop on event items than a single player adventure...
We can get a better loot by using the 100% loot boost, yay!!!
But... but... but...
Things are getting complicated...
2. To use the 100% boost loot buff we have to buff all 3 farms with Valentine cards. To get those V-cards we have to produce Valentine boxes in ph/rph... The boxes cost a lot (Cost: 4,400 Hardwood Planks, 780 Simple Paper, 660 Nibs). Btw, it is a typo or BB changed Pine Planks with Hardwood Planks?
The production time for 1 Valentine box is Production Time: 36 hours (Provision House), 6 hours (Rarity Provision House).... so, not fast production...
Ok, ok... We queue the V boxes, buff ph/rph with bara, activate the Meadhall buff and the sock dryer buff to get maximum speed on producing them... (an advice: queue 1 box at time)... We can't start adventuring right after the start of the event, we have to wait for those boxes... oh well...
Finally we get those darn V boxes, we have to open them one by one. I have very bad experience opening tso boxes, but... oh well.. 'luck' is a VERY important part of this game.
Now what? we have the V cards. If we buff ourselves our farms we get 1 hour loot boost. So, we ask friends/guildies to do it. 3 hours seems better then 1...
But...but... but.. V-cards are not tradeable... So, if we are lucky we find someone to swap them... if not we will wait... And no adventuring yet, at least not with loot boost.
Oh, and we can't wait too much with those V cards because the flowers farms have to produce flowers, as much as possible... remember, 10 days event...
We can use another buffs on farms, ok, but if we do it then bye bye loot boost.
Fun, yes? :)
Wait, that's not all...
Check achievements... Those V cards got numbers, from 1 to 9... In their wisdom, BB thought, since everything is so easy and simple, to add a bit of fun, maybe we were bored already... The achievements require to get buffed by friends with all 9 V cards.
So, swapping V cards is not enough, we will have to find all 9 V cards somewhere on our freinds/guildies...
And this is only the beginning...

The event needs a new name. Can't really be the "Valentine Event" if it starts AFTER, you know, the actual Valentine "event".

These are fun suggestions, but a few wouldn't be able to be used either because they are song titles or events that have happened and would not be right to be used.

Switch it to a summer garden theme and focus on the Easter event for now. :)
Change the Valentine's Day cards to seed packets, card box for planter box...etc.
Have you consider doing a poll to see if members of all communities would prefer to delay event until a later time to allow resources to be used to resolve the current issues in the game/event/focus on Easter event vs focusing resource the Valentine's Day event issue resolved?
My vote is re-brand and focus on resolving current issues within the game that are leading to player frustrations :)
(a nice jester would be to gift every active community member the explorer as a ooops, not sure what happened but we are listening to you move...that falls under the never hurts to ask category lol)

I always liked the idea of a summer event since there is so much time between Easter and Halloween. There is foot soccer ball, but that's only every other year.
Maybe even a May Day event. I agree that concentrating on current lag issues is more important than fast-tracking the VD event. Also more important is figuring out how we will be able to play after the flash dump next year.
