Valentine's Double Loot buff not working

Have tried starting the adventure before the zone buff was active and finishing while active (no double)
Then started a new one while buff was still active and finished with buff time still left and still no double. 14 is just high amount, double should be 18 or 28. Have also done many lootspots while buff active and no double on those either. even the beans in that reward were 1700 which at double should be 3400. and the platinum shows 6000 which is the normal amount

Has anyone ran this without the buff in place to see what you get without it? Have you also made sure to double check your mail?

The buff works for some and for others it isnt all over the europeon server where i play mostly and the german servers... buff worked for me for the first few adventures then all of a sudden stopped ...tried again today new buffs first adveture worked got double loot and xp playing siege so did other person so played again this returned normal non doubled loot.... buff ran out so buffed again tried again first adv again double loot any after that didnt

Valentine DD Update

Dear settlers,

We want to clarify the description of the Valentine buff, because it was a bit misleading:

While every player can get a bonus to the loot of a coop/multiplayer adventure, everyone has to have the buff active on their own island to benefit from it. It is not working for everyone in the adventure just because the owner has it active on his island.

THis is misleading it implies the only reason ppl are not getting the loot is because they dont have the buff on their own islands that isnt the case i have the buff active yet i dont get bonuses my wife has the buff active she also doesnt gain the x2 loot so if we both have the buff activated why aint we getting the extra loot

I just got 18 refills off 2nd thief loot spot.

I've done about 20 (my own and lootspots combined) since the event began and most were not under the effects the buff. All gave me the same 9 or 14.

I am also not getting the bonus loot or bonus refills. I ran 4 buccaneer roundup and tried sftr loot spot. One person doing b.r with me did not have cards buffed and we got the same loot.
All 3 of my farms were buffed and the zone showed the bear as active. This is very frustrating.
Oh the 3rd person also had active buff and also did not receive bonus loot.
The loot on b.r. was exactly what the wiki says you should get. And yes mail was double checked. This is not on our end BB Odhran.
It seems most people are getting the bonus.

I can confirm. Not working with the buff active on my own island. Normal loot. I guess we're stuck like this over the weekend. I don't want to waste the adventures, though by the time there's a fix the event (and premium time) would be half over.

Yup - placed cards tonight .. ran 4 siege... no extra.. NOT happy.
yes i ran adv yesteday with no cards.. and wiki confirmed my loot was normal loot.

Mine seems to be working now. Didnt do anything differently. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

having the same issues with the buff. yes checked my mail 2 different vlt's, same result. refreshed, re loaded.. still no difference

It's been intermittent for me. Just ran Lakeside Treasure with my wife, got the bonus. Did a Tomb Raider, got the bonus. Did a second Tomb Raider didn't get the bonus. And this was all on the same buff. I get the bonus probably at least 9 times out of 10, but occasionally I do not. No rhyme or reason to it and it can go either way during the same buff.

One thing that happens is that sometimes the bonus is only 1 hour even when frend buffed and buff is 3 hours.

I'm having the same thing happen. Completed 2 Lakeside Treasure this morning with active buffs, and received the bonus on both. Completed 2 Lakeside Treasure this evening, again with active buffs, and had no bonus on either of them.

out of 6 adv i ran under cards 3 got double .. rest didnt.. tr did, sftr did, 2nd thief did, but none for dark priests or roaring bull

and dark priest pay out.. two were 3 .. two wer 4... that makes no sense (ya i double checked after the 1st set).

the Valentine's Buff is definitely broken.

I ran an Black Knights with friends. We all had premium buffs and Valentine's Buff.

First adventure was started before the Valentine's buff was applied.
We all had 8 and 4(premium). Okay that seems like we must have each gotten 4 refills on the flower, and double refill means 8.

Second adventure was started during the Valentine's buff running. Finished the adventure while the buff is still running.
Results:
I had 8 and 4. I guess that seems fine.
One guy got: 5 and 3.
the other guy got: 4 and 2.


Seems like it's broken for the other 2 guys. Especially with the numbers being out of wack. How do you get 5 and 4 as a base?? When the base value lowest is 4. and double should be 8 (which is what I got). They also noticed their resources and other refills aren't doubled at all. Normal.


as somebody mentioned, its quite possible that the double bonus could have been working only during the first hour of the valentine buff. So my last 8 refill flower, could have been a result of the standard 8base (which double means 16).


Okay- So I noticed when I started my 2nd adventure there is a "STAR" icon saying resources will be affected by the event.
I'm on an adventure right now, my love farms are still buffed with valentine's buff zone. but the adventures in my star tab menu no longer shows the "STAR" icon saying event resources being affected.


So it seems that the double bonus must be working only during the first hour of the buff.??

I did 3 Sieges this morning with a friend. At the same time, I also did 3 Sieges on Newfoundland server. Both servers had the Valentine's Buff running, applied at the same time.

On Newfoundland server I got the double bonus for all 3 Sieges. On Ares server, I got the bonus only for the first 2 Sieges. My friend didn't get the bonus on any of the adventures, even though he had the Valentine buff running and applied the same time as mine. So I think it's random whether or not one gets the bonus. And I hope it will be fixed, because it's too hard to get enough refills without the bonus.

Finally got it to work a for awhile (my current working theory is that somehow refreshing/logging out causes the buff itself to disable while the notifiers and statuses remain to say it is still on), and noticed something else about the double loot buff: It also gives double XP, despite not saying anywhere that it does.

Now if you look at the image I posted earlier with no double loot working:

You see it says 167K xp. Again, the base and not the prem bonus. Both are second thief but the one with double loot also gave double xp.

And according to the dev diary and in game description: Name: Valentine Effect: +100% to resource and refill rewards.

So having it not work most of the time not only means losing loot and refills but XP as well.

This issue is currently being looked into by the team.

i hope bb is gonna do some calc and send out bonus flowers to make up for this.... and BEFORE the end so we can actually use them. As far as i;m concerned if i see the teddy bear active i should be getting double loot... 9 times out of 10. i'm not.. and we PAID resources for the bonus to apply. (to make the buff).

Sad to say the bonus loot not working is not only on the Valentine card buffs.

All my explorers, every single one, have 3 tomes in Sturdy Shovel. On medium searches, when they get the higher drop, it is 7 flowers because of the skill instead of 6. For the most part it's working; however, I noticed over the weekend that they were bringing back 6 from medium searches on an intermittent basis. In other words, I was getting a mix of 6 & 7 after a search.

Just did a 2nd thief, started after the Valentine buff and ended while it was still running, no extra loot.

UPDATE: refreshing/logging off and on is at least one factor causing the buff to fail

There is also some good news. You can tell if the double is actually active or not. If you open your star menu and look at your maps, any multiplayer map that is affected by the buff will have a little star in the top right corner.

Those only appear if the buff is actually active and running, regardless of whether it says it is in the zone buff window. So if the stars are there, you are good to go. If not, the stop buff one farm and drop another card on it to restart the combo and check again.

This is also how I know refreshing can kill it. Had the stars showing, then accidentally hit the back button on my mouse exiting the game. Logged straight back in, but the stars were gone, even though the valentine zone buff was still showing as active and the farms still had 3 hours left.

EDIT: also just for informations sake, the buff works like premium, you can activate it just before finishing that adv and still get double loot/xp, it isn't like scout buff where it needs to be on first before you start the adventure.

I mentioned this in my posting earlier about it. but its not bullet proof as it also bugs out. I've had cases where I did get double loot, but the icons aren't appearing on adventures. And I've had cases where they don't appear at all even with a fresh new valetine buff applied. and I got double resources/refills.

It's just buggy all around and not reliable. but yea- it helps to see the icon. but it doesn't always show up. and it doesn't always apply correctly either

Doesn't seem encouraging this will be fixed, so I decided to just roll the dice based on the feedback and see what happens. I have run Second Thief a few times and then right at the end before the last battle self buffed. This has worked each time. Rather not have to use three of these per adventure, but worth it if it's working. They don't cost a lot, just take forever to produce. I don't use my regular provision house for much else anyway.

Hence why I said, " refreshing/logging off and on is at least one factor causing the buff to fail" indicating there are probably more. As far the stars being unreliable, they have worked perfectly for me so far, so I can't comment on your observations, but at least it is something to watch for.

I will update the team with this information to see what can be done.

I have found found something similar.. the buff worked for double rewards for the first number of days, then about 2-3 days ago, just stopped giving double rewards... and havent had a single instance of getting a double reward since

Another thing to note: it seems as though the scout buff and the valentine buff are incompatible as well. Another player on my server has observed that adventures under the effects of the scout buff do not give double loot even with the little stars showing. I know that the one time I used the scout buff so far this event, I didn't get any double loot then either but that was before I knew to look for them. More testing on this is required though.

I had the Valentine buff/bonus stop working after getting completely out of my browser to clear memory, then getting back into the game.

I've gotten the bonus pretty consistently throughout the event, with only a few misses. I'm not sure if I'd gotten completely out of my browser to clear memory those time as well.

But tonight there was a definite correlation. I ran 11 Lakeside Treasures and got the bonus consistently on the first 9. After exiting my browser and coming back I didn't get the bonus on the last 2.

I'm at 8 in a row with double loot. Not a lot of room for problems. Buff then do one battle. I'm not going to experiment and try to find out how far I can press my luck, just keeping things simple.

We hope to find a fix to this issue as soon as possible and are truly sorry for it.

If you dont refresh or relog or restart etc it has a good chance of working. Also inactivity can cause the double loot to stop working.

I understand refreshing or relogging while the buff is running is probably not a good idea, but sometimes it's unavoidable. The browser crashes or the game logs a person out, these things are beyond our control.

I need to retract this statement as it's incorrect. I'd completely forgotten about 3 Intrepid explorers who do not have sturdy shovel skill. All my explorers, every single one, EXCEPT the Intrepids, have sturdy shovel and this is what caused me to think I wasn't getting the bonus intermittently. I'm sorry for posting incorrect info.

Well since it is obviously not getting fixed, what about compensating us for our losses?? My adventure partner and I are each out over 400 refills so far! At 300% buff thats over 1600 flowers. Not even counting the other loot. I'm sure not everyone kept count like we did. And we both watched to make sure our buffs were active at the end of each adventure.
