game stuck on the loading page

Yesterday took 2 hours to log in and 1.5 hours so far today. I want to log on at least one more time to tell my guildmates why I don't show up anymore.

Physical memory in use by active processes (assigned to Chrome) has reached 870, but network utilization has dropped to zero. I'll try a few more refreshes.

Did I mention I have a data cap and this has put me over my limit for the last 3 months? That costs me another $40 CAD each month.

Ahh it finally started (took from 2:20 pm until 3:50 pm) !

just checking in forum for updates, I haven't played for a while now, due to log in issues. It's amazing how much time you have left to do other stuff :)

For me on chrome it almost always loads after first refresh so id wait longer than 4 minutes for it to load after a refresh. Like twice the time of your normal nonstuck load time.
Larger memory use fluctuations might indicate that the game is about to load. For me it gets past the loading part where it gets stuck between 500-600mb usage and once the island is fully loaded its 800 mb.

I have the same issue, when I first attempt to log in, it's loading at about 15mb/s, then drops to 0-30kb/s but remains at the same point of the loading, then I'll refresh and it loads at approx 15mb/s again and when it drops down to 0-30kb/s the second time, it actually moves onto the next loading page with the blue background and then loads right into the game.

No idea why this happens, it's every single time I try to load into the game or even try to refresh after playing for a bit and something happens causing me to refresh, I have to go through the same process again.

Mine is stuck on the loading page again today. I have not been able to log in all day. 3 machines, 5 different browsers, 3 operating systems. Common factor is network speed which is showing less than 1Mbs of speed. Will try on a faster network tonight.

So it's not just me.
This kills me. Absolutely kills me. I will have to do refreshes and LUCK for an hour just to get logged in. And then just staring at my home island and not clicking anything it's even laggy and slow.
But that's settlers, slower and slower by the day.
If I leave smewhere I play a youtube video just to ensure my computer does not go to sleep. If it does and I hav to refresh my browser I am stuck losing time to LUCK to get back in.

Last night was a nightmare. Absolute nightmare. FRiend buff glitch mde it impossible to even load and send generals to an adventure. You know, play the game.
Again and again I would be forced to restart game from a crash and then be stuck through this dam load page freezing. And we don't get full information. The page can sit there still for a good 5 minutes then decide to complete log in you just never know.
Can you imagine trying to work timely and share LS?
This is a joke.
Game stability last night was so bad I had got myself to do long adventures just so I can have the stability of being on an adventure map. Not what I want to run, but what the lag will allow.

This morning I figure hey, let's try the actual settlers download. I'm not going for another browser. I know my laptop sucks. It isn't very powerful, but it would be decent.
If I were running windows 7. That is at least a ecent OS.
Sadly, I am on windows 10 and I absolutely hate it. Hate it, it is terrible. Over half of my RAM is being chugged just from the OS existing and doing whatever it is.
70+ processes going on all the time I can't stop because it is windows related. It's just a mess.
So hey, maybe the "slim browser" should help.
After all, many recent BB updates have included "better load times".

Nothing. Wow. Really?
Not even like. "oh I'm getting stuck loading here too." No legitimate nothing.
I can log in and click play now. But it goes to a VLC video that "play's" but it is just a black screen. Not even a loading screen!
So the settlers browser even realizes that it is impossible to log in and play this game that it doesn't even try.

That's where I am at.
Taking over an hour to log in.
God it's no wonder there are no high level players left to trade with. We can't even log in and play!
Does not matter what OS we are on. Or what browser we use.
The game information is not coming to us. It's just not loading.
Why? Do we have to download, install, and initiate a game state before we even get player information? What the hell is going on?

It feels like every time I load this game my computer is building a city empire just to get me to my home island.
Easter was bad, but this is unplayable. Legit actually cannot play a game that refuses to load.

This is only a portable version, so most likely it won't work on windows 10 and it does not help mac users. Also be careful when downloading files from unverified sources. Just saying......

The proper solution, I feel, is for BB etc to get their donkey out of neutral and convert the game away from flash. If the game isn't going to die next year this has to be done anyway. Other similar kinds of games now have HTML5 or other variations for their clients.

All I've seen from BB on the subject is they have a standalone client (which isn't ideal from my perspective) but last time I tried that it was basically non functional.

I did evolve a plan to watch the load process - start task manager, switch chrome into window not full screen, expand the "chrome" in the processes tab if needed, then load the game. You'll see a process doing a lot of network activity. When that network activity drops to zero, the game either loads or hangs, if the latter reload the game page and watch again.

Also feel it's more likely to hang on load if the system is not focused on the game window.

OK, I'm either the luckiest guy or something changed that got this fixed for me. Spent 2 months with long load times failing 95% of the time, now all of a sudden, loaded in quickly with no failures probably 10 times in the last 5-6 days.

Not sure what's up....

this is getting ridiculous might be time to find new game to play seems how for weeks now cant get the log in screen fixed tiring spending hours trying to log in

18hrs this time. When the entire Christmas Market is running unbuffed for days, that's a lot of losses. Quite aside the lost Prem time and not being able to finish Advs.

Seems to be fixed for me as well. Not hogging data anymore, and has started in 7-10 minutes every day for past week, usually with one refresh.
I always open task manager and watch the stats, I'm getting really familiar with them.

I will also mention that my island is simple, no fancy friend buffs, or premium, or observatory, although I do have a level 1 christmas market.

I had that for about 24-36hrs, then it tanked again. At one point the TSO tab was using 28Gb of RAM all by itself. 1-1.5Gb was typical before the login nonsense started, but now it's 2-10Gb typically, with a few 12-15Gb spikes and that horrific 28Gb.

I think this is three *days* now of not being able to get on, getting booted back out past the login screen repeatedly (which likely means the Daily/Weekly login have reset...again), and just in lost Coin productivity over 100k Coin...to say nothing of everything else lost in the Christmas Market, Event Resources, dead Mines, and so on.

3rd Day in a row I have the (!) ... the game wont load.

While I am happy I am not alone I am disappointed as I went throught the same with the Valentines Event and wasnt able to get everything I wanted without spending a boatload of gems planned for other items! :(

It's VERY frustrating!

Not loading for me either !!! BUT I FIXED IT!!! And got in... took about a minute for Chrome to re-load the game again... but now its flying just fine ...

my Chrome must of updated and all i did was re-put in what BB suggested we do... And it worked great again... !!!

The team has pushed in update that should help fix login times. Could this please be tested on the test server. Please be sure to leave feedback on this as well.

My game gets stuck loading at the exact same place on the progress bar, every time.
When it does this, i resize the window a couple times and then it progresses again.

It works fine on the Test Server. Oddly enough I never had issues getting on there, only on the Game Server (Zeus).

Now it's gotten so bad on Zeus that at one point the TSO tab was using 28Gb all by itself. Now it keeps resetting to the Login Screen (ie I can't even refresh past the Play Now loading screens like I used to).

Pushing a week of lost game time, lost Prem, constant Daily resets, hundreds of thousands of lost Resources, added costs to open the Calendar... After over five years of playing, this is why I've become so hesitant to spend on Gems anymore. :(

Finally on after over five days of nothing, and intermittent for days before that...only to find the Home Island (as expected) to be in such bad shape that I really have to wonder if rebuilding is worth it.

I have been unable to login today. Well, I login and then click Play and get a white screen. I have tried deleting cookies, etc with same result. I am using FF which had been working better than Chrome used to work.

Anybody else having this problem?
