So, still no fix for the Observatory and the Quartermasters?
Sure hope the fix works out for login time. I tried it on test and observed that the first time took the same amount of time, including a refresh, as it does now. However, subsequent logins went much faster, around a minute. Don't know if that's how it's intended to work, but that's how it appeared to be working. Guess we'll see what happens when it goes live.
Agreed with AppleJacks03. I would love to see observe (and everything else we got from events prior) working before you release more stuff to potentially break.
Fixing the size of the files should help with wait times to get on game. Looking forward to another great event. See you in game.
Appreciate the focus on the login issue...here's hoping :)
Glad to hear it went much faster. We do hope that it does fix the issue for everyone, but are prepared to continue working on it if not.
For those asking about fixes for other issues. We have issued a community update regarding them and gave time frames for them. That can be found here. I know it does not show exact time frames, but does give a good estimate as to when we hope to have potential fixes.

I don't understand why the observatory issue needs to be investigated.....It DOES NOT work for the quartermaster generals for ALL players.

We hope to have a fix for this already in the Summer Event version (being deployed mid-June 2019). However, since a potential fix is not developed yet, it might get postponed.
The observatory issue is not an intermittent one and should be an easy fix if you know where to look!
Right... until the QM works just fine and every other general doesn't work again. Piece of cake!
I'm just as frustrated as the next person, but we didn't always have QM's and we ran adventures just fine. I load up all my regular gens and my QM's have what I need after the 1st 15 minutes. It's a workaround till they figure out what's wrong and fix it. It's not as if it's totally unusable. Yes it would be nice if it worked perfectly, but at least it can still be used.
The problem for me is, that the constant re-landing of the quartermasters upon return from the adventures screws up my home island for 90min....game freezes, crashes, ...
the issue w/ qm is that the limited lz on adv means i cant move my usable gens to proper spots... so i end up waiting to send qm / clause till all my other gens are in place or even next sector.. which defeats purpose of a fast qm. same issue as tomsb176 at home... i have gens in specific spots -- cant put them there cause the stupid qm's are rebuilding over and over. (course we've asked bb to let us 'assign' spots for gens to return to - that would fix that...)
tomsb1176 that's horrible that the QM is causing freezes and crashes. That does make it mostly unusable for you since that's happening. I haven't had that happen.
As far as limited LZ, sending the QM directly after all other gens have left home island should solve that one. When the QM arrives all lz's are taken and it should go to star, right? It stinks that Observatory doesn't work correctly, but there are ways to work around it for the most part.
During the last event I used it to run Horseback back to back really fast since there are no QM's involved. Was able to run 8 in 2 hours. So it can be extremely useful and BB will eventually figure out what's wrong. Right now I'd rather their priorities be elsewhere cause I'd like to be able to login in less than 8 or 15 minutes, and be able to login every time I try, wouldn't you?
Any word on the specific time that the Maint is scheduled to be performed? That information appears to be omitted in the announcement.

Seems every one of these style games is an eventfest now. I like events, but I also like a little time to regroup and build in between. I'm still working on books to fully work up the new actors from the last event...
Also, what happened to the choice of adventures for the weekly challenges? I seem to recall that being mentioned yet we still have a "list" which contains only one adventure. It's not always easy to get 3 other people to do multiple whirlwinds. I would like to see either epic adventures or fairytales included in the lists. It's also not nice having a requirement to complete 3 first thief which aren't easy to get.
That said, I do like the other changes to the weekly challenges.
I did not have that much problem with loading my game now i am have a very big problem loading my game, its a real problem ,it seem they maybe fix it for some people but cant5 fix it for everybody, its like groups, so ow what shall i do to fix it.
Since the maintenance fix, I have not been able to load the game at all.
I've tried with different browsers. No luck.
I clear cache every time I shut down my browser.
I have to recant that last post. I just got on. Huzzah!
The Settlers Online still does not load in Chrome and still hangs at the same loading point as before - after the recent efforts to fix this critical problem with the game... ;(
After this update game works hard. Login hard and charging hard. And i have fiber optical 1GB/sec DIGI, so what is the point with this game. [Guide] Better loading times not works. When BB make this game ok? I guess never... Other game like this works fine(https://clb.heroes-online.com/play). Only settlers online works stupid. Tested on eu server, sua server, romanian server, etc...
since the update.. my fixed loading time with 1024288000 cache -- are now busted.... i was down to loading under 2 min.. now i have to refresh several time.
Nope, load time still sucks. Game not worth it.
Might check back after another fix is attempted.
it seems that nobody noticed the other changes to the game with this update.
It's not even mentioned in the changelog, which I find rather neglectful.

Increase to cap of shotfires and demolition crews
so, with all the complaining about the one thing that hasn't been fixed yet and the one thing that hasn't fully been fixed yet (which agreed are annoying and should be a focus of repair until fixed fully), maybe take a look at the new things added and available and add comments about some of the good things that have been added/fixed.
Terrible. Ever since you fuddled with things again during your Tuesday maintenance this week now i CANNOT LOAD THE GAME AT ALL! I tried nonstop for 6 HOURS straight! I was not able to play half of the spring event and clearly now i won't be able to participate in the summer event.
Better loading times my ***! As bad as ever!
Whatever was working on test has failed spectacularly live. It's taken me close to an hour to login 2 days in a row. Before the update it took 8 to 15 minutes. This morning after 45 minutes of failure with chrome I switched to IE to see if that makes any difference. At least I finally got in, but don't know if it's because of the switch or I just got lucky. Will let you know if the switch in browsers made any difference in the long run.
I appreciate the new stuff. Joyous Bundle is an awesome deal. But if I'm so aggravated with logging in, what's the point of all the other stuff, really?
Just want to point out that there was another unwritten addition with this update, another new achievement for a tribute building. Secluded Experiments without using recruits, militia, bowmen, or longbowmen now yields a friar tribute. This is a different one from the event achievement of 25 mini missions friar tribute, so there are two.
I am not sure why some people have such long and/or difficulty logging in.
While I have to attempt to log in and then refresh approx 3 mins later which then allows full log in which takes approx 3-5 mins again, I don't have any issues with not being able to log in at all or having hours of trying to log in.
I use Chrome for the game, it's the same, every time I go to log in, even if I am refreshing for some reason while playing, I have to go through the same process.
While BB claims to have reduced the file sizes and such to increase speed of logging in, I see absolutely no difference whatsoever in the length of time nor the having to refresh once during log in process.
I am not sure if part of the problem is the computers we each use, the location we log in from, the method of log in we use, or what, but I do know that none of the other browser games I have played or heard of other people playing have anything even remotely close to the issues this game has in regards to not only logging in, but the lag spikes, flash freezes, etc.
Have not tried this myself, but I just came across this thread and thought maybe some players who have the most difficulty in logging into the game might want to give this a try and see if maybe it will help for now. Although, I don't know how it will work (if at all) once the event starts on Monday, but it's a temporary possible fix.

I ran SE once. I had planned on that being the last time.
Hanging for me in Chrome, which I don't use anymore, but decided to test. Same goes for Opera, which makes sense if Chrome isn't working. Works fine in Firefox, IE, and Edge. I have not tried to do any fixes on any browsers to address any issues, since I haven't really had any. The biggest problem I have is Puffin on my tablet, which I normally have to refresh a couple times after a minute or two, but the delay is not that significant.
The problem does seem to be worse in Chrome. I've logged in and out multiple times with IE today and it's not getting stuck forever like it was with Chrome. Altho Chrome was working better for me before the update. Was doing that refresh after 4 minutes thing with consistent success. But not anymore.
Thanks Virtuous for the tip on SE. Just ran one and got a Friary Tribute for myself, my wife and a guildmate. You can always get a LS Gwalben. I'd offer one if you were on Zeus. :p

Chrome, Edge, IE... nothing works.
Different ISPs... nothing works.
I am sorry to hear that the game is hanging on loading. I have informed the team and they plan to work on some new fixes. I have been informed though that some players have luck when they notice the game hanging to press 'F5' 2-3 times and it usually loads in for them. I know this is not idea, but if it can get some into the game it is better than not being able to access it.

Login went from 2 minutes to 1.5 minutes on Firefox. So I guess its an improvement. :) Had to refresh once after the update to get in though.
