Presently level 21. My first gems were used to purchase a Noble Residence.
Task Four 7/28 - 7/31: What level are you, and how many friends do you have? have you ever buffed a friends building?
I have buffed friends but i don't do it to often as it takes a while and they never seem to buff the right things.
Task Five 8/1 - 8/3: What building did you choose to upgrade first in the quest? What did you upgrade first with your own marble?
first building to upgrade was a residence and with my own marble bronze weaponsmith
Task Six 8/4 - 8/10: What level are you? How long have you been playing? How many hours a day do you spend on Castle Empire?
i was/am 22 and i have been playing like 2 weeks maybe a bit more and i have castle empires open all day playing on and off

i am 22 i bought a noble residence. if i had more gems i would have bought a pack of licenses

Level 20, spent gems early on , used for firwood planks on day 1 or 2...
Task Seven: level 24, Spent early quest gems on the black market marble/hardwood with resources+9gem costs. Gems won from events are stored to be used for adventure purchase.
Level 19, mostly spent them on turning 300 fir wood to 100 HW and 300 stones to 100 marble. Though I wish I saved them up for the 10 licenses.

lvl 23 - geologist -> whenever unlock new region, or run out of mines - have 2 of them, since coal and gold takes 4 hour... which i can't wait at that time..
explorer -> once the medium adventure/search available, after 2 search, i bought 2nd explorer, and send them out whenever i saw them back -
So uh... I'm going to assume that by sending out GEOLOGIST to hunt for treasure you mean EXPLORER, in which case...
I'm lvl 23, I have two of them, and I send them out every time they get back.
