I think we should be able to change our avatars but not frequently. In other words maybe once per month? Or maybe we could submit a ticket giving a good reason why we need to change the avatar.
In my situation the avatar images weren't loading even after several refreshes so I just picked one so I could get into the game.
I'm sure others have had similar problems.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me! And they should come out with more avatars later on, and it would be nice to switch to a new one if you like it more.

I also ended up with the wrong type of pic, am a female player with a male face and would like to change it, because it is just embarrassing...lol
