Lvl 18 here... Same as others mostly. Recovering settlers after troop losses is way too slow a process...
Question: Are you guys okay with just attacking? Like, if PVP was implemented and it was basically doing what you're doing now but with a person, you'd be happy with that?
the lvl speed is Awfully to slow form 16>17>18>19>20 and so on then you have to fight for Exp if it was like 25% faster i woundnt mind the only thing that slows you down is the Recruitment
Recruits
1 pop
5 beer
10 swords
Bowmen
1 pop
10 beer
10 bows
i mean whats up wit 10 weapons? i think if you cut down on the Weapons on the recruitment it's go faster and smoother
The price to build gets exponentially higher, therefore much harder. (This also applies to the number of bandits in their camps requiring "justice".) This is frustrating since you expect some leverage due to the higher level, Also, like the tail on a dog, very slow progress follows. Make a mistake, or reevaluate your buildings and you get set back enormously waiting to rebuild your resources.
It is losing the "fun" quotient fast.
I'm LVL 20 and here are my thoughts:
-The production of iron swords and bars shouldn't be as high. I think it should only be twice the cost of creating copper bars and swords and it should take twice the time.
-I feel that the level requirements for creating gold & coins should be reduced.
-What's up with the eggs? Is there any way to get them now? Maybe if we could at least get eggs to trade for coins earlier it would help us get coins before the gold mine.
-I assume it's a bug, but the Traveller Family and the Retired Bandits both say gain 5 population.
-Please clarify the damage more. What the heck is splash damage? Until I fought my 1st boss today and won, I was expecting it to be impossible without losing. Splash damage to me means that it deals damage to every troop. Thus I thought it was impossible to defeat the boss with a 200-troop limit! I only realized I could defeat him because of the combat calculator that was created. Also, if one troop kills an enemy troop, what happens to his extra damage? Does it carry over to the next one? Or does it get lost?
-I didn't get my stable yet, but my first thought is that it's going to be very ridiculous to have 40 horses for a single Cavalry unit which has 5 hitpoints...
-I have no idea what the adventures are like, but I think it could be cool to have some low-level adventures that would take your army to small islands where there are random bandit camps of varying difficulties to be able to gain more experience without having to fight ever-increasing difficulty battles. And then if you free the island you can gain some big rewards in the form of resources or artifacts for your hero or something...
I realize this post isn't all about levelling speed. Generally I think the speed is pretty decent for this kind of game but could use a bit of increase to getting hardwood planks and marble blocks. Maybe not a lot, but a small tweak could be nice.

The game is SOOOOOO slow I am frankly losing interest. Troop recovery is ridiculously slow because of their high cost (four new settlers per hour + ten bronze swords (roughly an hour to produce)) PER TROOP. then go against bandit camp at 1.5:1 ratio, and still lose half your force, requiring a day or more to recover troop strength - THEN, some sectors have six or seven bandit camps to clear just to get a new sector. Your reward? 1 level and 15 licenses. Not even close to worth it!
Mini-quests would help; gaining XP for using resources to upgrade existing buildings would be even better! Example, it takes roughly a day and a half at level one (with two masons and three cutters) to earn upgrade to mayors house - but that gains NO XP? Really?
I'm sounding cynical, because I'm frustrated. I set things up, check back four hours later; re-adjust, check back later, readjust... ad nauseum. I wanna PLAY!
I thought leveling through tutorial was fair - first nine or ten levels perhaps even too easy. But all of a sudden - WHAM! Stopped dead with one track to gain XP. As you can tell, I think it should be changed.
I agree with Marthander. I can go watch TV for an hour or two then come back and make soldiers. I also have thought about quiting. Right now really doubtful about game even though I loved Settlers.
I mean yeah, we'd probly all agree it's slow, but you have to realize this isn't meant to be played every minute of every day. If you're not patient, you're not going to last long.
When life gives you lemons? Don't make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your **** lemons! What am I supposed to do with these!
On hiatus from the game currently.
The leveling speed is fine, it's the resource gathering that takes forever
I am level 16 the speed 1-16 was fairly fast, then seems to bog down while waiting on troops to build to attack the bandit camps for more Experiance. I agree that it would help to have smaller quest added to gain, if not experiance then treasures. Speeding the making of the troops by lowering the requirments of 10 swords to 5 for each would help speed it all up.
